According to the Immigration officers, the lady came into Nigeria on Friday by ship and returned back here on Tuesday to board a ship back to her country, but we noticed she was carrying a new born baby and decided to question her.

She claimed she gave birth to the baby three days ago in Calabar. But when a female officer examined her, she had no sign of just giving birth. So she was held back with her 70-year old mother who accomplished her to Nigeria and were reported to the right authorities. She later confessed that a matron sold the baby to her for N1.2M in Calabar.

It was claimed that Prophet Ireti Ajanaku resurrected but this may have been a false attempt to keep his memory alive by some of his church members.
The Prophet, [url]Tope Alabi estranged spiritual father[/url] has already been confirmed dead and the Oro traditional worshippers have conducted a funeral rite for the late pastor.
According to a report, Oro Worshippers held funeral rites for Prophet Ajanaku. The late founder and spiritual leader of the Christ Revival Victory Chapel International, Pastor Elijah Iretiola Ajanaku belonged to the Oro cult in his lifetime.
Residents of Ikola Odunsi, where Ajanaku lived before he breathed his last on Saturday evening at Gbongan in Osun State, were surprised early Tuesday morning when Oro masquerades went to town in funeral rites for the departed ‘Pastor’.
The funeral rites which began at about 12.30am ended between 3 and 4am.
The Oro worshippers chanted the name of Ajanaku throughout the night. The worshippers marched through the streets of Ikola Odunsi, Ikola Gbenaje, and landed at the deceased’s street, Folarin Williams Close.
They were chanting, “Ajanaku lo, o di gbere”, meaning “Ajanaku is gone forever, adieu”.

Wentworth, who played the lead character Michael Scofield in Prison Break came out as a gay man yesterday August 21 via an open letter to the Saint Petersburg Film Festival, rejecting an invitation to attend a premiere there because of Russia's recently-passed anti-gay laws.

Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline.

Dozens of same-sex couples said "I do" on Monday as New Zealand became the first Asia-Pacific country, and only the 14th in the world, to legalise gay marriage.

Vows were exchanged in venues ranging from an airliner cruising at 30,000 feet to a historic bath house as gay men and women took advantage of the law change.
The Campaign For Marriage Equality said it ended an historical injustice and meant the love of all people was recognised as equal in the eyes of the law.
"A massive congratulations to the happy couples tying the knot today. Marriage equality has finally arrived in New Zealand," spokesman Conrad Reyners said.
The amendment to the Marriage Act was passed by parliament in April but did not come into effect until Monday.
Two radio stations competed to host the first same-sex wedding, with the ceremonies broadcast live during their breakfast programmes.

In reality, the nuptials took place around the same time, at 8.30am Monday (2030 GMT Sunday), after the government offices that issue marriage licences had opened.
Reverend Matt Tittle from Auckland's Unitarian Church married one of the couples, Tash Vitali, 37, and Mel Ray, 29.

"It's history in the making," he said. "Hopefully it will help other countries to do the same and help New Zealanders to realise that everyone has worth and dignity no matter who they love."
Air New Zealand staged a special flight from Auckland to Queenstown where Lynley Bendall and Ally Wanikau tied the knot in the air after 14 years together, with American actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson from the hit comedy "Modern Family" in attendance.

Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested two suspects over their alleged involvement in the operation of a baby factory in Imo State.
The state Police Spokesman, Sylvester Igbo, said one of the suspects, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu specializes in conveying pregnant young girls from Amasiri to Amaraku, Amaigbo in Nwangele local government area of Imo State where the baby factory is located.
Agwu was said to have taken a pregnant teenager, Miss Uchechi Sunday from Amasiri in Afikpo North local government area of Ebonyi State to the baby factory, making her to believe that he was taking her to a provision store where she would be engaged as a sales girl.
On reaching the factory, Uchechi was shocked to discover that only pregnant girls were confined to the building used for the factory but had no option but to remain in the building till June when she delivered her baby.
After the delivery, Uchechi was stripped of her baby and transported to Okigwe where she was given ten thousand naira to transport herself to Amasiri and to purchase some new clothes.
Angered by the development, her parents reported the incident to the police who commenced investigation into the matter.
The police spokesman explained that investigation led to the arrest of the suspect and a nurse, Gloria Ezenwa in Feziechi Hospital at Orlu which served as a referral centre to the baby factory when complications arose.
Igbo said police would intensify efforts to ensure the arrest of the proprietor of the factory identified as Madam Favour who is now at large.

In anticipation of today’s meeting between the Federal Government and ASUU representatives, the President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Dr. Nasir Fagge, has stated that the union will not back down on the ongoing strike if a compromise is not reached.

Dr. Fagge made this statement in a telephone interview earlier today. He maintained that the strike action was not embarked upon just for the demands, but for the Federal Government to honour a Memorandum of Understanding which it signed in 2012 with ASUU.

The ASUU President: “Who’s talking about demands here? We presented our demands in 2006 and it took us three years to get it into an agreement.
“The FG signed the MOU in 2012, that’s what we are asking them to honour, period. The strike action will not continue only if they implement the MOU we had last year.”

The ASUU President further noticed that “If we call off the strike when the MOU has not been implemented, of what use was the strike action in the first place? We are holding on until everything is sorted out.”

The strike by the lecturers lasts for forty-nine days if, ASUU does not reach an agreement with the Federal Government at the meeting scheduled to hold later today.

The WAEC on Wednesday released the full results of 1,543,683 candidates who sat for its May/June 2013 Secondary School Certificate Examination.

The number represents 91.38 per cent of 1,689,188 candidates who registered for the examination.

The Head of National Office (HNO) of WAEC, Dr Charles Eguridu, announced the results on Wednesday when he addressed a news conference in Lagos.
Eguridu said 889,636 candidates obtained six credits and above, while 1,074,065 others obtained five credits and above.
According to him, the results of 145,505 others, representing 8.62 per cent, were being processed due to some errors.

“These errors are traceable to the candidates as well as their schools in the course of registration or writing the examination.
The HNO explained that such errors were being corrected by the council to enable the affected candidates to get their results fully processed and released subsequently.

Eguridu disclosed that the council cancelled the result of 2,176 candidates.

He explained that the cancellation was due to multiple entries by the candidates discovered while processing the results.

“In line with the council’s regulation, the entire results of such candidates who have been found guilty of this act had been cancelled, “ he said.

The HNO also said 112,865 results of candidates, representing 6.75 per cent, were withheld due to examination malpractice.

Eguridu pointed out that the cases were being investigated and that reports of the investigations would be presented to the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) for consideration.
Further breakdown revealed that 1,225,591 candidates obtained credits and above in four subjects, 1,353,273 obtained credits and above in three subjects, while 1,465,581 obtained credits and above in two subjects.

Eguridu said that of the 121 blind candidates, 117 attempted it while 24 obtained five credits in five subjects including English Language.

“Blind candidates do not take Mathematics and Science Practical in WASSCE diets“, he said.

He hailed security agencies for providing the much needed security throughout the conduct of the examination.

The HNO said that despite the security challenge in the country, especially in some parts of the North-East, the council was able to conduct the examination.

“We thank the Federal government and security agencies particularly in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States for the support rendered the council during the conduct of our examination.We equally commend the Federal and State Ministries of Education for their support in terms of their facilities and logistics given to us during the conduct of the examination.’’

He decried the murder of three of the council’s personnel by gunmen while on their way from Yola to Maiduguri.

The candidates can check their results online on the council’s website within 24 hours of the declaration of the results.

Executive Officials of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) that were involved in a motor accident were said to be returning from a meeting they had in Abuja, Friday, most of whom are representatives of the Oyo and Lagos council of the union.
The official Toyota Hiace bus was totaled from the crash. Survivors said a rear tyre suddenly exploded while on high speed and somersaulted about nine times before eventually careering into the bush, killing three on board and injuring several others.

The Yaba College of Technology is to introduce Computer-Based Test CBT in its 2013/2014 Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to hold in September.
The Head of Public Relations Unit of the institution, Mr Adekunle Adams, told the news Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday that the decision was in line with technological advancement.
He said that the new examination mode would, however, be used alongside the Paper and Pencil Test (PPT).
“This is the first time we will conduct the examination in computer and paper; the world is evolving, we do not want to be left out.
“It is a decision of the board and in line with technological advancement.
“In the future, paper examination will be phased out; so it is to make students computer compliant,’’ he said.

It's all about other women, lack of attention, just coming in and going out at at will, abuse, etc. Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has opened up on the reasons behind the crash of her marriage. Although Oloyode is now begging her to come back, there is a "spiritual" angle to the saga.

Below are the revelations of by Funke Akindele:
In an interview with E24-7 Magazine, she disclosed that she only enjoyed the marriage in the first 2 months.

“I was abused emotionally and verbally. Really, I felt we could work things out when the trouble started two months after the marriage, but I made up my mind and shut the door of the marriage at him when the trouble was coming to me too much.

"I stooped to conquer him; buried my fame and name to make him my husband, but it did not work. At a point in time, I asked if it’s not the same man that was all over me before we married.

"He nearly got me off my career. He called me severally; I did not pick his calls but when he realized my silence was tormenting him, he took to Facebook. It’s alright. Ask him when did he come to my house last? He left me here in my rented apartment with nothing and he will just dash in and dash out. He gets abusive, caustic anytime we have a misunderstanding and often told me to my face, he’s going to his wife in Oshodi.”

At Oshodi, she said, she received a warm welcome from the wife, Fadekemi, but constant humiliation from Kehinde.

“She [Funke Akindele] was really loved by the kids at home; she enjoyed taking them out to eateries and stores. Sometimes, they spent the weekend with her and she followed them to school. The children will surely miss her,” our source, close to the family, said. Now that the cookie has crumbled, Kehinde, she said has been calling and sending text messages begging her to come back.

“He sent me sms that he has seen a buyer for his house at Adeniyi Jones for N40million. He asked me if he should sell it and that if he does, he will buy me a new car and a rent me a new apartment. Why now? I don’t need all that, I want my sanity.” After she ignored him, he sent her another text abusing her and calling her names. “So you can see that he does not mean well for me,” she re-iterated.

E24-7 checks revealed as at Saturday evening Kehinde was combing the nooks and crannies of Ikorodu to locate Funke’s dad’s house. He boasted: “I will do anything to win my wife back.”

Over the past few months, Funke and Kehinde had started to see things differently so the need to pull out became inexorably high. It was revealed exclusively to E24-7 MAGAZINE by sources close to Funke, that she was ready to go on with Kehinde’s warts and all but for the fact that loyalty has never been his strong point - his children from different women tell it all. Kehinde, our source hinted, has a roving eye when it comes to the opposite sex and this often causes friction between him and his celebrity wife.

There are tales about his dalliance with his Personal Assistant, Funke. Observers of the marriage from inception feel that when fame and money come to a meeting point in a relationship, it will result in problems if the couple are not committed and disciplined. Moreover, a byproduct of this alliance is usually ego and it kills celebrity marriages faster than one can open the pages of tabloids and magazines. But this is not the case with Funke. “I respect him to the end but he chose to treat me that way. He said he wanted to clip my wings.”

Funke and Kehinde rarely spent substantial time together even at the peak of their marriage. Both kept to hectic schedules by virtue of their chosen professions. While Funke is often involved in back-to-back shooting on movie sets, Kehinde jumps from one construction site to another; pressing buttons for his political ambitions; and keeping dates with his wife at home and other women by the side. This sort of arrangement invariably makes keeping faith with the vows of the union very difficult. In the long run, suspicion will rear its ugly head and the couple will eventually drift apart, especially when they don’t live under the same roof. This is best exemplified in Funke and Kehinde’s break up.

Besides, Kehinde’s disturbing and haunting pasts have repeatedly stared Funke right in the face, and according to E24-7 MAGAZINE’s impeccable source, Funke learnt shockingly that her once beloved hubby was expelled from the University of Jos almost as soon as he was matriculated as a student of the ivory tower. His admission, according to our source, was faulty right from the beginning and since that first attempt at tertiary education went awry, he shut his door at education. When he returned from Jos, he found strength in his entrepreneurial skill coupled with the influence and support of his mother, a market leader and successful businesswoman; he became an estate developer, building chains of shops in Oshodi market.

Gradually, he crept into politics and his popularity soared that he became a well-known grassroots politician and a great mobilizer. More than twice, Kehinde, who belonged to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and his supporters have clashed with the NATIONAL UNION OF ROAD TRANSPORT WORKERS (NURTW) Treasurer, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo an Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) loyalist. Kehinde has also contested for elective posts twice; most recent, was the Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 1 House of Representatives in 2007 which he also lost.

Many years after, he reawakened his political ambition and quickly re-aligned himself by joining the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). To shore up his image, he found in Funke who has become popular with her movie, Jenifa and the sequel, The Return of Jenifa, a ready tool. He convinced the favourite actress to lead him to the Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he had assaulted many years ago during the market women leadership tussle between his mother, Alhaja Almaroof and the late Iyaloja General Alhaja Abibat Mogaji.

After he atoned for his ‘sins,’ he joined the train of well- wishers that went to London to felicitate with the former governor when one of his sons graduated from a university in London. Reliable sources told E24-7 MAGAZINE that Kehinde’s lost bid to win the contract to rebuild Oshodi market really threw him off balance and that probably made him to turn the heat on his latest wife, Funke who wanted his attention.

Despite the ill-fated turn that the relationship has taken, many of Funke’s fans can’t help but wonder if she hadn’t known that the union was doomed to fail from the onset. The reason for this thinking is not far-fetched; firstly, Funke opted for the Muslim marriage even when many thought that she would go to the court registry to cement her marriage with Oloyede.

Secondly, sources close to the family said Kehinde was warned by spiritualists not to venture into the marriage but he declined and did not share it with Funke. In the same vein, Funke was told not to go into it by her parents but she asked them to respect her wish.

And as it plays out, she is free to remarry anytime she pleases without unnecessary legal impediments. This and many other factors contribute to the opinion shared by many of her fans that the delectable thespian knew that the future of her marriage with Oloyede will not be as long, colourful and bright as it appeared with all the glam. [But] it’s just too quick and too fast to break.

Twitter is under increasing pressure from governments around the world to release user's private information, with requests rising 40 percent in the first six months of the year, the microblogging company said Wednesday in its semi-annual transparency report.
The United States made three-quarters of the 1,157 data requests during the six-month period, according to the San Francisco-based company's report.
Governments usually want the emails or IP addresses tied to a Twitter account.
In one well-known case, a French court ordered Twitter in February to turn over information about an anonymous account that posted anti-Semitic tweets. Twitter, which had initially resisted by arguing that the data was stored beyond French jurisdiction in its California servers, ultimately complied in June.
Efforts to censor Twitter content have also risen sharply, the company said.
"Over the last six months, we have gone from withholding content in two countries to withholding content (ranging from hate speech to defamation) in seven countries," said Twitter legal policy manager Jeremy Kessel.

Twitter was censored the most in Brazil, where courts issued orders on nine occasions to remove a total of 39 defamatory tweets.

The report did not include secret information requests within the United Sates authorized under the Patriot Act, a law enacted after the September 11 attacks. U.S. companies are prohibited from acknowledging the existence of data requests made under those statutes.
