TV/Movies / Re: Interview With Bright Ikechukwu Echefu, TSTV CEO (Video) by knight(m): 3:01am On Oct 04, 2017

I am sure they are leveraging on economy of scale. Don't be deceived, tech products can be a lot inexpensive than you are made to believe. Go and read up how much it costs apple to produce it's iphones and how much it retails for at the end of the day.
TV/Movies / Re: Interview With Bright Ikechukwu Echefu, TSTV CEO (Video) by knight(m): 2:56am On Oct 04, 2017
Ezigbonmadu:
Many of the CEO's explanations don't add up. And that is shocking because he is expected to know how his company operates more than anybody else.

He said his company provide 4G internet on their platform. This is ridiculous beyond explanation. You can only have 4G/LTE internet services from wireless broadbands and not from satellites. Other wireless protocols are WiMAX, WiFi, GPRS, 3.5/3.0G. While satellite bands are ku and c bands (and their derivatives). I'm a Communication Engineer. TSTv claiming to provide 4G on a satellite platform is impossible and ridiculous. Except there will be SIM cards on their devices. This is exactly what I suspect because he mentioned 2 things:

1. That their decoder is Android.
2. That the device doubles as a router.

Essentially what they will offer is a smart phone in a big box. They will depend on your local GSM coverage and data for their data uplinks while downlinks are handled by their satellite feed.

My conclusion:
1. Their data speed will be terrible. Hence people buying the device just for data will be frustrated.
2. They are just a third party service provider. They don't have their own satellite feeds. They will also resell internet from main one (according to Dr Bright, their CEO). Thus, as resellers, they can't control or guarantee quality.

My verdict:
Just hold on. Let your neighbours buy and use it for at least two months before you put your money on it. Hopefully all questions will be answered by then.

(Okay. They say it's just 5k and It's not worth this technical advise)

Engr. Ezigbonmadu

You have done well analyzing from a technical stand point,(albeit, I sense ignorance of the latest technology trend in your industry) but I have issues with how you have gone about it. You have only picked flaws and not balanced it up with the good side of the whole idea/concept.

It's like saying we should just fold our hands and watch DSTV continue to milk us.(I know you said hold on for two months, If everybody holds on for two months, then who buys?).

I mean this is a young man who has identified a problem and is tackling it. As a matter of fact I think this novel solution or something more sophisticated should have come from you, after all you are a communications engineer. Yes, he is leveraging on third party providers for now, Things don't have to be perfect before they come to the market. I wonder where some world renowned businesses would have been today if they had perfected everything (Dangote sugar started selling sugar before it had a sugar refinery). That is why there is version 1 and if they do not improve, let some other company come into the game and capitalize on that! For now, this works.

Cast your mind back to the days when sim card was more expensive than the phone and we had to pay for calls by the minute, it took Globacom to change all of that. For me TSTV is a statement to DSTV that: "Our mumu don do!". We want what is available across the world and not to be treated as some gullible cash cow. As for me, since last year I disconnected my DSTV and I use an Andriod tv box thanks to "seemly affordable" internet data.(because it could be cheaper)

And for your information, the Andriod Os powers a lot of devices, not just phones. You need some catching up to do on hardware and software technologies.

All am trying to say is let's support the initiative and if TSTV fails to improve, then you or someone can start something too, I will support you.

How this story ever elicited humor in you baffles me. Did you not read that lives were lost? I mean, you sacrificed empathy and humanity for a cheap joke. I would be nervous if I knew you personally and won't be calm till you have undergone proper psychiatric evaluation.

I don't know happiness, I don't know what it means. You don't know me, you also don't know what I think. I stand by my statement; it's a fecking waste of time.

My sentiments exactly. You just underscored my point. You don't know happiness. It doesn't mean it does not exist. You can't see the wind but you know it's there. It's no use trying to go back and forth on this because ,like you said I don't know you. But I can 'read' you. You've only chosen to view the world through your own designed periscope. (..of course, external influences contributed)
Live and let's live.
Let others enjoy what comes easily to them.....being happy!
One day if you permit yourself you'll be caught in the happiness movement.

You again? You're taking back your pound of flesh right? Never negative, I say the truth.

That's no truth... It's stems from a heart reeking with bitterness. Genuinely enjoy other people being happy. Your experience or expectation is not the yard stick. Happiness is relative.
Romance / Re: Help! He Has Been Acting Strange, What Should I Do? by knight(m): 6:58pm On Aug 30, 2016
@Fatenzy I feel your pain, from what you've written I can deduce that you are an introvert with little or no friends. Or even experience in dating. So, let me introduce to...
Male Psychology 101.
1.Man is a hunter.

That is , if you want a man, you have to make him chase you. A man is excited while the chase is on and will do everything too woo you. But the moment he asks himself the question "what next?" Trouble begins to brew cos it means the hunt is almost over if not over. So he starts to survey for the next hunt.

The key here is holding him in awe of you, making him stay captivated. It means you are unpredictable in a very good way. (May I add that you didn't use one of your powerful weapon prudently, that'sex... That lesson will be for another time)

Meanwhile, all you can do now is completely withdraw from him, don't contact him for whatever reason. If he calls you deliberately miss his calls for about 3 times don't return the call at least for now, let him chase you all over again (If he really likes you, he will. If not, let it go)

Immerse yourself in other activities, learn something new, hangout more with your friends/family.

It's time to listen to that Tuface aka Tubaba song with the line "As you see me so,I no send you o, but that one no mean say I no wish you well o...."

Don't worry there is a sweet guy for you. Don't be too anxious. Have confidence in yourself.
