LithiumSupplier: From the looks, you have a solid professional skillset and attitude. I advise you speak to someone in HR field to help you tell your career story in a well packaged CV and LinkedIn profile. With the above, it's obvious you can get a better place in good time. All the best! 18 Likes 1 Share |

Remix10: Read back some 10 pages or so. You'd see at least a post on calculating your points. When we know the points, it's easier to work from there. PS - Experience means you have proof of payment either via payslips, tax docs, pension docs and/or bank statements. |

enambobo: Read back some 10 pages or so. You'd see at least a post on calculating your points. Do that first (excluding your NYSC year - it won't count for experience) and let's take it from there. |

olajidela: Apologies. Hadn't noticed there wasn't a response to this. I don't know what stage of the application you are in but it's always key to be honest with their system so on the first level, declare that you have. Wife and kids. Now if you've been invited, I'd suggest you at least go with your wife. I've read of people waiting years before their partners could join them. By the time you are invited, you have an almost 100% chance of being nominated provided you can provide evidence to back your points. So I'd recommend you do all to move with your wife, at least 1 Like |

Tolex2020: Hello. The only occupation I have seen related to your discipline is Aquaculture Farmer [121111: Plan, organise, control, coordinate and perform farming operations to breed and raise fish and other aquatic stock.] If the description above matches what you do at work, then Good first step. From what I have seen, the only Visa you are eligible for is 491 Visa but that's not a problem. In fact, you can apply right now to South Australia seeing that you have 8 years of experience. Please note that you'd need a minimum of 7.5 (in each of the Modules ie Listening, Writing, Speaking, Reading) in IELTS and minimum point of 65 ( This can be calculated here: https://www.anzscosearch.com/points-test/ ) The Organisation that will assess you is VETASSESS ( https://www.vetassess.com.au/ ) I am not familiar with their processes but I believe their website as well as info from this group should help. You'd need evidence of payment to prove you've been employed for all that period which typically is one or more of the below: Payment evidence: Payment evidence can include one of the following types: Pay slips (ideally your first and last payslip); Taxation Records of Assessment (bearing company and applicant name) Bank Statements showing at least two salary payments, your name and the employer's name; OR Employment-linked insurance / superannuation records (bearing company and applicant name). If you are able to scale the IELTS hurdle, I really believe you have a great chance because it's not a common profession. Wishing you all the best! 1 Like |

Ggetter50: I don't know about Medicine but Nursing is very much in demand in Aussie and would be in the near future. I recommend the wife should endeavour to get an English coach for either PTE or IELTS so she can get the maximum points (79 minimum each in PTE and Band 8 in IELTS). Then she should check the specialty of nursing that is rarest like aged care, critical care etc. However, you can definitely check out the Vet profession. olusholaayoade: As an independent contractor, you can obtain tax for your payment, along with your bank statement. Go to your nearest Tax office and they should guide you. Hopefully, it would be allowed. I would also request you to study and rewrite IELTS. From your results, you clearly can get a minimum of 8 in all bands. That's an additional 10 points, taking you to 75 points. I also suggest you assess as an Electrical if you are going to go via the Engineers Australia route as there's more shortage of Electrical Engineers than most. 75 + 15points on 491 is a good chance, IMO. msrhema: Australia doesn't use Overall scores for IELTS They use minimum scores. If you minimum score is 7, you get 10 points if it is 8, you get 20 points so on that score, I'd advise the husband to try IELTS again so he can get maximum experience points and English experience points since he's so close already. About the Accounting thing, I'd wait for Tunlex to weigh in as I don't know much about that. I can tell you that it is very competitive though. 3 Likes |

0 ekenweohia: I align with @tunlex01 in suggesting that you assess with EA. If you are going to assess as an Engineer, I recommend that you assess as ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. There's a shortage of anything ELECTRICAL in Aussie and the demand is predicted to be strong for a few years. Electronics Engineer doesn't have as much demand. I don't know how many years of experience you have but if you do anything REMOTELY related to electrical engineering, and have payslips, pension, tax and/or bank statements that reflect steady income, then attempt to claim that experience with a well written CDR. |

Hi Everyone. Just thought I'd share. If you are trying to get assessed, you should check out this list to see the occupation that you can choose that will also be in demand in the future https://www.nationalskillscommission.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-06/Skills%20Priority%20List%20Occupation%20List_0.pdf?fbclid=IwAR3tWIvgRqPXaKzUBhbxjyzOXz13AtMzZoZlenRotXvGsqitfNWJ3EYPMZk Check where there is shortage (S) and if possible try to go along those lines so that even if your points aren't so high, you have a good chance. 1 Like |

NHQGUY: Please don't apply if you don't have the qualifications BASED ON THEIR OWN ASSESSMENT. It is better to apply with their assessment, be invited based on that and then the CO decides that your previous experience is relevant than for you to apply and claim higher number of years than you've been deemed and then they shut you down. That's my advice tho |

Touchman003: 189 visa is almost dead. They invite ultra-high points for high skill level in demand. 189 is a SKILLED INDEPENDENT visa which means it is not for direct work Electrician and Geologist are not in the PMSOL ie Priority skill list He didn't ask you for proof of your experience either Tax, or Payslips And then the processing time for 189 visa is over 9 months. March is NEXT month I can assure you that the agent either doesn't know what he's saying or he's a scammer. |

NSW now open for offshore. Hopefully others will follow soon. May our prayers be answered. Offshore candidates Offshore candidates skilled in occupations within some ANZSCO unit groups will now be considered in invitation rounds. These unit groups are identified with a tick (✔) under the 'Offshore' column below. https://www.nsw.gov.au/topics/visas-and-migration/skilled-visas/nsw-skilled-occupation-lists 3 Likes |

ChisZom: 1. MSc is a degree, not work experience. With them, Work means full time employment with payment and tax records so you can't use it to claim experience. 2. Be as descriptive as possible, using relevant technical terms. Eg I chose a 3mm (measurement) steel rod over iron because the tensile strength (technical term) was calculated to be higher (informed decision making) using the ChisZom formula, ie, C2*H² bla bla. Don't overdo it though. 3. The borders are closed, till likely next year. Fast track is largely useless to you at this point. I'd do the 12 weeks. 4. Your Canada issue has nothing to do with this, unless it was based on a criminal issue 5. Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? NO. Unless you have like 100 points on 189 in an occupation on PMSOL and have an employer ready to sponsor you, it's unlikely to get a grant now. |

Hi @bellong and guys could someone Kindly help me understand something, please. Pro-rata occupations are supposed to be the ones in high demand, according to all that I have read However, when I saw the recently released Labour statistics, my assessed occupation - Electronics Engineer, which is pro-rata is "no shortage" and demand for the next 5 years is expected to be "moderate". Now I'm wondering why I shouldn't have just assessed for Electrical Engineer which has a Shortage in all states and Strong demand for the next few years. So is it possible for an occupation to be pro-rata and not have high demand? and would you recommend I assess freshly as Electrical Engineer? (currently on 85 points on 189) |

bemagnify: Sorry. If you are trying to migrate for PR, then you are to take GENERAL for IELTS At some point, an officer may ask for POF but it isn't something they generally require from everybody. It may just be your case officer who is interested in seeing it, SoI guess: NO POF structure. |

RodeDindu: Here https://www.acs.org.au/msa/information-for-applicants.html Scroll down to Skill Assessment Guidelines for Applicants. It's on the bottom and will download a pdf document. Please read everything carefully especially from page 7. What they do is: They review your transcript and count the number of credit units DIRECTLY related to computing (usually things that have computer in the name or Software etc) and then calculate the percentage of that against your total credit units in the degree program. What I recommend is that you look at the transcript for both Bachelors and Masters and see which one has a higher percentage. Then you can choose whether the MAsters or the Bachelors is your preferred degree for assessment. Otherwise, you may have to assess in an engineering profession like ELectronics Engineer or something like that |
