Oh I see. Naira land format makes it difficult to refer to the beginning of conversations.

Hello guys! Please I need your input on this matter. After I applied for a Master's program, a professor reached out to me for an interview. During the interview, he mentioned that there was a research assistantship position if I get in. Shortly after the interview, he emailed me that I have been accepted, and an official acceptance letter would be forwarded to me. The thing is I have received the acceptance letter but it says nothing about funding, I have emailed the prof twice on the funding letter but no response.
Please what do I do? 🥺🥺🥺

Hello Sir,
I was in northern Cyprus for an undergraduate studies and majoring in Software Engineering early last year but returned back to Nigeria after my first year as a result of the hardship to foreigners in the country to process for another undergrad studies majoring in Computer Engineering for America.
The big question is will they know my visa type to Cyprus if i dont tell them and will i also be quarried about why i changed from Software Engineering to computer Engineering during my F1 visa interview ?

I’m not really an expert in this area. I hope someone who knows better responds to it soon.

It doesn't matter if it’s coming from family funds. Most times, they dont have time to look at your docs. Or you can split the fund 50/50 into your account and hubby’s. Good luck

Thank you so much!🙏

Will advise that everything should be in your husband's account statement, which makes him automatically the sponsor. Your husband should appear like someone who has enough money as a sign of responsibility and as someone that is not a potential immigrant. Should show a good work to support the finance, to be able to defend such an amount.
And in most cases, VOs are not interested in seeing the documents (including account statement) they are only after how your husband can defend himself before them. He is like a lawyer going there to prove his innocence.

Thank you so much. The problem is conversion. If we convert to naira, we will lose a lot of money trying to convert back to USD.

Good morning everyone!

I am given admission for MS in USA for Fall 2023 and my school gave me a graduate assistantship financial aid of $28,800 and I am to pay the deficit of $5,660. One of the terms and conditions is that the graduate assistantship will take effect in Fall 2023. Please how can I apply for visa so that I can get an appointment date between May to July 2023 and also which is the best place to apply for f1 visa, Lagos or Abuja?

Thank you all for your advice.

The only way is apply already if you haven’t. Then keep checking your CGi profile for closer dates. Dates may be released in May and June. So best to be registered in the system. Get your I20 from your school if you haven’t. Pay Sevis fee. Start a DS 160 application. Create a CGI profile. Pay for visa fee. You can pay visa fee before submitting your Ds 160. But make sure you submit as soon as possible.

Good people, please for F2 application, we already have the required funds for husband and 2 kids (3 F2s) available in my account (the F1) Does my husband need to have extra money in his own account? Like how much? If we are borrowing this extra money, is it problematic to deposit it into his account once or is it better to do it in installments?

Thanks so much 🙏

My opinion based on listening to over 20 former visa officers, as long as you have not used it to get appointment date, the visa officer cannot see it. The ones you have filled is in the database of ceac but the visa officer can only see the one you used to get an appointment date. That's all.

Thanks so much!

Hi everyone,

Been a silent reader here. Thanks for your educative comments. I have a question. I am an F1 in the US. My husband and kids and in Nigeria and applying for their F2 visas. I filled the DS-160 forms for all 3 of them because my husband is busy. So, he reviewed the forms and edited some details from his end. For the question (who helped you to fill this form) I responded that I did and filled in my name. And we submitted. Now, an F2 advisor I asked suggested that we should retrieve the forms and respond that he filled them himself.

Has anyone been in this situation or knows anything about this? If we retrieve the forms and change the answer, isn’t the 1st answer already recorded in their system? I appreciate your responses🙏

Hello,

Congrats on your admission, and financial benefits gotten from the school. That's some complete package.

To your concerns, Your spouse, and children can apply via the F2 visa. They'd be allowed to visit throughout the duration of your program. You can search more on it.

Congrats again.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your useful tips on everything concerning abroad study. I have been a silent render and have learned a lot.

I was recently offered a full ride scholarship + stipend and TA position at Iowa State University, thanks to the tips I read here. I am currently preparing for the Visa process and I have absolutely no idea on how to proceed.

Here's my situation:

I have two children, 4 and 1, and they will be staying with their dad here in Nigeria (for now) to allow me study time. But I want them to be able to visit me throughout the duration of my study (3 - 4 years).

Should I go for a visiting Visa for my husband and our kids or should I opt for a resident Visa for them?

How long before a visiting Visa expires?

Can dependents with a resident Visa live outside the US for longer than 6 months? (What I mean here is, can they still live in Nigeria and visit me like twice a year if they have a resident Visa?)

How much (in naira) should I provide as proof of funds if I am going to get a resident Visa for them?

Like I said, I know nothing about all this. I'd appreciate it if someone who has been in such situation or knows much about it gives me helpful tips.

Thank you.

How could they set complex word problems, the verbal reasoning is mad, imagine them lifting words directly from d dictionary and asking us to find the opposite or nearest in meaning(almost 10 of them o),also giving two words relating to each other and asking us to pick one option from several similar options to d given example and finally, how can they send a message of setting abstract reasoning and eventually setting critical reasoning. All I read did not relate at all to what I saw and it takes d grace of God for me to get a fairly tangible result.
