I am a huge admirer of Jay Jay, one of those that supported Bolton except when they were to play against my team. I used to have the opinion that Jay Jay was the best, however, the trend in modern football has somehow faulted my opinion. I would say Okocha is the best in'footietainment', he would create jaw-dropping moments of magic, mesmerising his oponents and raise the roof at the stands. I have now seen that he never played purposive football which could explain his almost non-existent achievement and major honours in football. I sadly agree that Kanu, Mikel, Ikpeba are above him. |

@OP, thanks for posting this. The time I experienced this personally, I was too depressed to speak about it. At the state general hospital in ilorin, blood business has become a cool business. My daughter was referred their in January and needed blood transfusion, they said they could get me a pint for 13k if I don't want to donate or can't find anyone to donate for here. While negotiating my options, a woman whose daughter had just had a surgery related to childbirth came to them to demand refund for unused pint out of the two she was forced to buy to cover some other bills, they refused vehemently claiming that the unused has been kept in the bank and I was there begging for blood from the bank which they refused. I later donated a pint of blood. When the transfusion was done, my daughter only took very small part and the much bigger rest was taking away. I angrily asked why didn't they draw just the quantity they needed they said 1 pint was the standard. I then placed a curse on whoever monetize my blood. Walking round the hospital, you will see all these piggy banks with inscriptions soliciting for donations for indigent patients, yet I had causes to bail people whose bills required as little as 100 naira from the pharmacy. The fraud going on in government-owned hospital is a bigger brother to the ones we see at police stations that we complain about. Only God will save us. 2 Likes |

Dear Sir, I hope this email finds you well I am writing as an alumnus and person indirectly affected by your decision to close the portal for the current session's Registration. While I admit that I am not in any position to question or influence the decisions of the university, I feel I can at least make a case for the university to have a rethink on the issue of portal closure. It is no news that the country is going through a very turbulent economic meltdown that has placed many families under untold hardships. I therefore feel that the "hasty" closure of portal to allow students to complete their registration for the current session should be revisited, reviewed and revised. We are currently operating under economic conditions alien to the current generation and families where we can no longer rely on help from the government. If other institutions like universities cannot relax the usual tight-neck manners and allow common people to have some breathing space, where lies the hope of the common man? I am pleading with the universities to create a short period of extension to enable fresh and returning students, many of whom are in very good standings but terrible financial conditions to fulfil their dreams of earning university degrees regardless of whether or not the country situations will allow them to enjoy in future or not. I am of the hope that you will exercise the authority vested in you to ensure that the groan experienced by families as a result of out dysfunctional political system is not compounded by our reputable institution. Thank you so much for your understanding. Regards. 1 Like |

Most people who have commented so far don't know the value of this chewing gum apart from its sweetness. This wrap used to be my source of knowledge, an alternative to the modern day Google. I used to get some crazy facts which triggered my curiosity for Knowledge till date. I gained so much more than the sweetness of the gum which many that have commented so far failed to gain...if you want to hide something from a black man, put it in writing! 1 Like |

Daddy O of blessed memory. Lagellites 95 set, Renascent Ibadan 96/97 can relate. This man alone was enough to look after 3000 students at once. He died in his sleep in the late 90s of what was suspected to be cardiac arrest. May he continue to rest. 6 Likes 3 Shares |
