NYSC / Corpers In July 2023 Batch Serving In Niger State - Please Answer This Question by kosalabaro: 3:04pm On Aug 30, 2023
Please, I want to know the truth o!! Has any July 2023 Batch currently serving in Niger State been paid their monthly salary "allowee'?

I am asking because my son says they've not been paid till date, except for transport allowance of 5k paid when they were in camp.

And the corpers have since left camp. I believe NYSC would by now have paid them #66000 being allowed for 2 mths. But my son insists they have not been paid a dime till date and so, he now wants me to support him.

Can what he said be true? I need someone out there who knows the truth of this matter to please confirm the true position of things to me, please.

Thank you.

Sports / Re: Segun Odegbami Celebrates His 68th Birthday Today by kosalabaro: 8:38am On Aug 27, 2020
The original source of the nickname "Mathematical" was because Segun Odegbami attended and graduated from Nigeria's premier technical institution; The Polytechnic, Ibadan where he studied Engineering.

OP Lalasticlala,

You cannot be more incorrect about the origin of the sobriquet ''Mathematical'' given to Segun Odegbami.

Late Ernest Okonkwo, ace Radio Nigeria Broadcaster and popular football commentator, was the one who gave Segun Odegbami the nickname. You know, Segun Odegbami was so popular in those days, he was an household name and he was called ''mathematical'' primarily because of his masterful dribbling skills and accuracy of his crosses from the right wing to Adokie Amaesimaka on the left which in most cases would always result in a goal.

The story of Segun Odegbami cannot be complete without mentioning midfield maestro, Muda Lawal (of blessed memory) and the legendary lefty, Adokie Amaesimaka. Together the trio wrecked havoc on many African national teams. Those were the good, old days when the Eagles (later renamed Super Eagles by Late Admiral Augustus Aikhomu) would want tp play a match at 4.00pm and you would be seated by your TV set as early as 1.00PM or be in the National Stadium by 12.00pm.

So, Lalasticlala, I hope you have been educated on the true origin of Odegbami's nickname and why he's was given the nickname. Odegbami was a beauty to behold when moving with the ball - He was very fast (like Mbappe of PSG) and at the same time he would very ''mathematically'' dribbled away any opposition or obstacle in front while moving such a high speed. It was a rare sight to behold. To be honest, it is only now in Messi that you can find such ''mathematical'';accuracy of speed and dribbling when moving with the ball. And because Odegbami was also tall, we were spellbound watching him cutting through defence with such speed and dribbing - the accuracy of the two skills made Ernest Okonkwp to gloriously shout over the microphone ''Oh the ball is now with Segun Odegbami....he's moving, he dribbles one, two, three ....it's a goooooooallll Mathematical Segun Odegbami has done it again!!!! Goal No 2 by Mathematical Segun Odegbami'' And the name stuck ever since. It has nothing to do with Engineering at all!

Sports / Re: Holyfield Announces Intention To Fight Mike Tyson Again by kosalabaro: 12:00pm On May 14, 2020
According to Google:

Mike Tyson's current networth is $3million while Evander Holyfield's $500,000

Can you now see the reason the two needs to come back and also the reason Holyfield especially is demanding to fight Tyson?

Holyfield is the poorer of the two, but he knows he can beat Tyson anyday, anytime even if he's woken up from sleep.

For me, the only way Tyson can win is by blindfolding Holyfield or if Holyfield fights using crutches. If Tyson is wise, he should not agree to the fight at all. But he needs money badly too.
Politics / Re: Gambari: I Report Only To The President, Not The Public by kosalabaro: 11:45am On May 14, 2020
For a diplomat of his calibre and age and experience, I'm shocked at his response. He was very undiplomatic, very untactful to say the least.
I mean, even a fool knows you report to the President but common sense should therefore have prevailed because when you report to the President, you are more or less reporting to the Public, the Country. No need shooting from the hips, given the situation in the Country and the circumstances leading to his appointment.

A response like this would have been more diplomatic: "I intend to carry out my duties to best of my abilities hopefully to the satisfaction of Mr. President and the Country''

I am seriously disappointed by this man from Day One, and i do not need Prophet T.B. J to tell me this man's regime will be FIRE compared to Abba Kyari's FRY PAN. Like the Americans would say, ''You ain't seen anything yet''

Religion / Re: Reasons Why Pastors Cannot Be Millionaires By Deji Yesufu by kosalabaro: 8:44pm On Mar 10, 2018
God bless you, Op.
True gospel life is a life of total commitment and sacrifice and because those qualities are lacking hence there are no 'Elijahs'' and ''Elishas'' anymore.
When we say ''Pastors cannot be millionaires'' this does not mean we want them to be poor. It simply means that they should live a simple life, a life of moderation as our Lord Jesus Christ did. Jesus had overwhelming opportunities to have been the richest man of his time, but because he knew the inherent corruption, temptation, deceit and Godlessness in such level of wealth, he chose to live a completely Godly life - simplicity, humility, life without sin, love for the poor, spirituality and above all, love of mankind.

What is bad in any man of God living in a 3 or (at most) 4-bedroom bungalow?

What is bad in a Pastor wearing a simple cloth (ankara for instance) instead of a 3-piece suit?

What is bad in our so-called men of God driving a Peugeot or Volkswagen?

What is bad in our Pastors sending their children to Public schools?

But the truth is bitter and our earthly world hates the truth because the marketing of truth brings no money whereas marketing of lies leads to millionaire status.

Religion / Simple Characteristics Of A True Man Of God by kosalabaro: 9:53am On Sep 01, 2017
Good day my people. You will agree with me that we are in the end time now. Just check the deluge of 'wonders' that keep happening everyday ('Ancestors' ra ping underages, all manners of transgender issues, 'Man' giving birth, animals giving birth to half-animal half-human beings....and on and on and on. The list is endless! And more 'wonders' are still coming.

For the Beloved and those who want to be saved in this End Time, it is important that you know the type of church to worship. In other words, you need to be very extremely careful/ discerning about who your Pastor /M.O.G is. Some pastors in Nigeria and the world generally are agents of Satan preying on people to take to Hell. They are everywhere, proclaiming to be MOG, but are they TRULY called by God?

Here are very simple characteristics of a true MOG or Pastor which separates the wheat from the chaff. By the time you go through this list, you will be able to name the extremely very few MOGs in Nigeria. Here we go:

1. A true MOG must be 100% conservative in appearance. He must not wear rings, hand chain, neck chain, earrings, no tatoos, no artificial jerry curls

2. He must be very simple in dressing, no expensive attire of any sort. He must simply be neat at all time even if he has a beard.

3. He must live in a modest home, a 3 or 4 -bedroom flat is very okay. What is a pastor focused on making Heaven doing in a Mansion complete with swimming pool? Haba!!! He should be the first to practically demonstrate that his mansions are in Heaven according to the Bible.

4. He must have a maximum of 2 simple cars, nothing flashy at all e.g Beetle VW, any of the Peugeot series or a simple jeep like Honda CRV. He needs to show in deed and in character that Heaven is indeed the ultimate goal.

5. He must have a simple family - one wife and 2 or 3 children is enough. He must show hem love, BUT must love God more than his family.

6. He must never divorce his wife for any reason. It just must never happen!

7. His prayers must strictly be with reference to Bible passages and not to be referencing indigenous incantations or proverbs

8. He must completely be apolitical.

9. He must NOT receive gifts from his congregation. Cash gift should used to open a Savings Account held a trust by selected members of the church and must be used to organise crusades and evangelism. Instead he should encourage rich members of his church to give to the poor always.

10. How does he feed himself and his family? He should feed from 30% of whatever proceeds he receives from Tithes and offerings and the remaining 70% is given to the poor. When he daily gives to the poor, he has given to God. He is expected to gradually cultivate a farm to support his family.

11. He must always undertake regular praying and fasting.

12. He must shun friendship with the world, totally detest fame and all appearances of fame.

13. He must not be richer than his church or the rich members of his church.

14. He must not have any nickname of any sort or encourage such that may (indirectly) place him on same level with God.

Please feel free to add yours too. Do we have pastors that have all these 14 simple characteristics?

Sports / King Of Soccer,' Pelé, To Auction Off Medals, Trophies And Even His Crown by kosalabaro: 8:21pm On Mar 12, 2016
RIO DE JANEIRO (EFE). – Pelé, the "King of Soccer," announced Thursday that he would auction off his medals and trophies and even a crown he received for scoring his 1,000th career goal.

The collection includes nearly 2,000 items, among them the gold medals the sporting legend received as a member of three Brazilian World Cup-winning squads in 1958, 1962 and 1970, a replica of the Jules Rimet Trophy and the cleats he used in the 1981 film, "Victory."
Proceeds from the auction, to be held from June 7-9 in London through Los Angeles-based Julien's Auctions, will be paid into a fund established to provide future financial assistance to relatives of the 75-year-old Pelé, the former soccer great's personal adviser, José Fornos Rodrigues, told EFE.

A small portion of the funds raised will be donated to the Pequeno Príncipe children's hospital in the southern Brazilian city of Curitiba, Julien's Auctions said in a statement.
"I have decided to allow fans and collectors to own a piece of my history as well. I hope they treasure these artifacts and share my story with their children and generations to come," Pelé was quoted as saying.
The crown jewel of the collection is Pelé's copy of the Jules Rimet Trophy, which FIFA awarded to the World Cup champions until 1970 and could fetch between $400,000 and $600,000, according to the auction house.
The real trophy, which the Brazilian national team was allowed to keep in perpetuity after winning its third title, was stolen in 1983 and never recovered.

Julien's Auctions also said the ball that Pelé used to score his 1,000th career goal could be sold for between $40,000 and $60,000. He scored that goal in a game between Santos, the Brazilian-league club where he played for most of his career, and Vasco da Gama.
The World Cup medals could fetch between $100,000 and $200,000, while his Athlete of the Century award has an estimated sale price of $30,000, and the jerseys he used in Santos and New York Cosmos matches could sell for between $8,000 and $10,000, according to the auction house.

Is it Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, Agassi, Bjorn Borg or the latest kid sensation, Nick Kyrgios Who, who, who is it?

Or, could it be a female tennis player: could it be Serena, Venus, Sharapova, Kvitova, Azarenka or Simona Halep or is it indeed good, old Steffi Graf or Monica Seles? Again, who, who, who is it?

Or, is it None of the above? If so, then who is it?? A million dollar question...

Who out there can help us to decode it?

The truth of the matter is that the man is suffering from Personality Disorder, a form of what the yorubas call ''were alasho'' (that is, someone who outwardly appears okay, but is actually mentally ill). But, in all truth though, everybody has one form of personality disorder. And there are several variants of personality disorders or eccentricities.

His own branch of personality disorder or eccentricity is actually called NEOLOGISM, that is the abnormal tendency to misuse or use high fallutin words simply to excite one's self. He needs to viist a psychiatrist as soon as possible or a capable pastor or a team of pastors to assist in his deliverance or exorcism of these demons.

Celebrities / Michael Jackson's 17 Year Old Daughter Is Beyond Beautiful by kosalabaro: 4:19pm On May 13, 2015
File this one under Time Flies. Michael Jackson's daughter Paris is now a 17-year-old girl with a serious boyfriend and her own smoochie selfies. And yes, it must be said: She is stunning.

Jackson's soccer-player beau, Chester Castellaw, shared a snapshot of the couple embracing each other. Like her dad, Paris has a unique style all her own, sporting fiery red highlights and a rock-chick look. That's right, the daughter of the King of Pop has wound up in grunge-issue plaid.

It's not the first time the young lovebirds have taken their romance public. Last month Jackson and the 18-year-old Real So Cal player shared a series of loved-up selfies. Castellaw's Facebook profile, meanwhile, lists him as being in a relationship with Pari Ramone. Any guesses as to which music heiress is using that nickname?
