Michaelspresh: Okay been following the thread. I also stay in Kubwa and I relocated to Abuja in 2019. I will advise you stay in Kubwa for now, since your office is in Kubwa too. Kubwa may not be as attractive as Gwarimpa but the rent is affordable and the cost of living there is average. Just ensure you get a good compound with pipe borne water.( Most parts of Kubwa enjoy pipe borne water supply from Usuma dam and it is healthy to drink). With that being said, Abuja is the best place to stay in Nigeria. Most countries have their embassies in Abuja. There is also a huge presence of international donor agencies and NGOs that pay like crazy. Abuja inspires you to work hard because the opportunities are everywhere. With one twist of fate, you can hit it big in this town. Try and use bolt wherever you are going to for security reasons. If you can’t afford it, use “along” one from the park and when you get close to your destination, you can then complete your trip with a drop which is cost effective. On relationships, be wary of both genders. Most guys in Abuja will milk you especially when they know you have a job and you stay alone. Ensure you get them tested for HIV and STD before you engage with them sexually. This is very important. A lot of people are sick in this town. Finally, have a side income. Your job never be enough. Cook at home and eat outside sparingly. The restaurants here will charge you for their ambience and aesthetics. Holla! Let me stop here. You can send me a mail. Who knows we could be friends. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

But that’s the truth. Africans downplay the importance of sex in marriages. Good sex should not be compromised in the choice of one’s life partner. Good sex has a way of calming your nerves after a stressful day at work. Attention needs to placed in this aspect of our lives. 153 Likes 14 Shares |

Congrats to her. The fact is that your life will be a continuous adventure of setbacks and challenges and temporary failures. These unexpected disappointments are a normal, natural and unavoidable fact of growing up. You must make a decision to get over them and get on with your life no matter what happens. 15 Likes 3 Shares |

I once dated an HIV positive patient in 2019 in Abuja. She didn’t tell me until I found her ARV drugs and googled it. She was hiding it from me for almost 6 months. I almost went mad. I wanted to commit suicide Sef. Fortunately, my results came back negative. I wasn’t sure because I was already having sex with her raw. I ran several tests in different labs and all came back negative. She told me that she didn’t want to lose me that’s why she couldn’t tell me. I was heartbroken, I ended the relationship immediately. Most of my female friends who knew us were asking me why I broke up with her and I couldn’t bring myself to tell them. It’s a secret I still can’t share. Lessons: 1. Always know your partner HIV status 2. Always do regular check up for STI every 3 months even in marriage 3. Don’t trust anyone. People are desperate 10 Likes |

The sad reality with this Afghan situation is that nobody knows what the future holds for the innocent civilians Afghanistan especially the ones who aided the US and NATO forces during the 20-year long siege. The biggest fear right now is the possibility of shooting down a military plane at the airport which may culminate into a deadly retaliatory move from US which will send Afghanistan into its worst humanitarian crises in centuries 9 Likes 1 Share |

This reminds me of 2011 in Unimaid. I had just undergone a surgery for appendicitis as a fresher at the university teaching hospital. I was still recovering when Boko Haram attacked the city of Maiduguri is one of its deadliest strike. They even took over an army barrack and freed their colleagues in prison. The grenades and bombs rained for over 6 hours. We could see the long bullets from helicopters raining down on our lecture halls. The school declared an emergency and asked all the students to leave in 24 hours. That night, I and my brothers packed our bags and entered a taxi that took to “Terminus “. We paid and slept outside because the drivers won’t let us sleep inside the bus. I remember how we paid double the price. That night was one of the longest nights of my life. A car bomb exploded not far from the park that sent birds scampering and flying. The vibration from the blast still gives me chills till date. Thankfully, we eventually arrived home safely and four years later (2015) I graduated with a first class from Unimaid. 128 Likes 5 Shares |

The major cause of pain and frustration in the financial sector is not really “casualization” but the snail-like growth trajectory. A situation when a staff stays on one level for 6-7 years can be very heartbreaking and painful. 18 Likes 2 Shares |

For it must be noted, that men must either be caressed or else annihilated; they will revenge themselves for small injuries, but cannot do so for great ones; the injury therefore that we do to a man must be such that we need not fear his vengeance. -Niccolò Machiavelli All great leaders since Moses have known that a feared enemy must be crushed completely. ... More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation: the enemy will recover, and will seek revenge. Crush him, not only in body but in spirit. Master the art of timing! Never seem to be in a hurry - hurrying betrays a lack of control over yourself, and over time. Always seem patient, as if you know that everything will come to you eventually. Become a detective of the right moment; sniff out the spirit of the times, the trends that will carry you to power. Learn to stand back when the time is not yet ripe, and to strike fiercely when it has reached fruition. Law 35 of The 48 Laws of Power 65 Likes 10 Shares |

Way to go. If it was Nigeria, one frustrated principal or maths teacher will deliberately resume very early to catch those that will come late and flog the hell out of them. Academics is good but as a country, we need to realize that many things aside SSCE, BSC and PhD can actually make one genuinely successful in life. 21 Likes 2 Shares
