No, I'm only going for my Undergraduate studies, I know nobody in the US, I'd be staying on campus housing. I have SAT and TOEFL. Infact! It's my dream to study in US. And my career is here in Nigeria. cry I don't want my dreams shattered

Also, is it worth trying again before school resumes?
Thanks VO

VisaOfficer:

This all happened so recently that it's unlikely that you will be granted a visa any time soon. I would wait a few years. To be honest, from reading your posts, my impression is that you are more interested in going to the U.S. than you are in studying in the U.S. At this point I really doubt that you qualify for a non-immigrant visa.

VisaOfficer:

How long ago was your incident with the fake bank statement? If it's been a few years, and you now know that you are indeed qualified for the visa, you might as well try again... but with the understanding that you'll need to be a wonderful candidate to overcome the initial bad impression that will be in our records forever. It's not impossible, but it will be very, very hard.

I have to be very honest with you, so to receive the best of advice from you.
The issue of the bank statement was in June of this year. So I deffered my admission because of the time frame. I received another I20 for spring. And the 2nd time October, the 3rd time which is the recent is last Tuesday. cry

I also intend to be truthful to the next VO interviewing me and explain to him/her. My conscience is pricking on me. embarassed

cry So, I should forget about going for my undergraduate studies in US? It's now impossible even now that i'm capable.
My school resumes January. Should I forget it and go on with my normal life? I'm not going to get it, if i go back to the embassy this year?
A lot of questions are running on my mind now. sad

Hello Sir/Ma. I've been a keen follower of this thread, I was a guest. So I decided to register just to tell you my story and to seek ur advise. I was denied F1 VISA 3 times consecutively. What you are going to read now is very long, kindly patiently help me read btw the lines.

I'm from a very comfortable family, my dad shuffles between Nigeria, UK, US, Germany, Sweden etc, my mum is Italy based. She comes home once in a while to see us her children..

It's always my dream to study in US. I thought my dream was finally gonna come to pass when I gained admission to a university in US. The time came for me to go for my interview. My dad was not around, he was in Sweden on a business trip and as usual my mum is not around too..

I called my dad and he said the money in his 3 accounts was not up to the amount required for my first year fees. A friend introduced me to an agent, he gave me a statement of account. Well, I had to go with it since I had no choice.

My first interview went fine at Lagos, I described my background to the VO, we joked together and laughed, she was about to approve my VISA but all went wrong when she asked for my dad's bank statement. She frowned, and I saw a sign of disappointment on her face. I wanted to explain but I kept mute not to worsen the case.. cry she returned all my documents and denied me not asking for any other thing. She gave me the famous form (denied under section 214(b))..

My 2nd interview was in Abuja, my dad was already back from his trip, with a lot of gains/money. I went with his REAL bank statement. I felt like the VO already decided to deny me before I got to him. He didn't even ask for the bank statement, he only asked few questions, didn't ask for any document whatsoever and he denied me under the same section 214(b). The interview didn't last up to a minute.

I went for my 3rd interview at Lagos today, the same happened, no documents asked. Just a few questions and the VO handed me the same letter/form(Section 214(b)).

I felt like jumping in the sea, I'm feeling like hanging myself, I'm so devastated. I wanted to collapse cry I'm only 20 years. And I'm seeing my dream dashing. I'm very sad right now. cry I'm feeling so guilty.. But life goes on..

I don't know what's going wrong. Am I being punished for the first error? Is it that they've placed me on some ban? Can I ever get a US VISA? Is my dream of studying in US ever going to come to pass?

I'm sorry for the verbose post. Thanks in anticipation.
