24k may sound ridiculous but it is the closest to what is realistic. the wage bill of the FGN is already high even at the current minimum wage and the below $100 oil price but I dnt think the federal government can do more than 30k (an amount they probably and intentionally refused to accept from the labour union.) The key to get more money is to reduce cost of governance but that is a tough issue that involves cutting funding of the national assembly, reducing the number of MDAs, and growing the economy through public private partnership, privatization and true federalism. Something no government has been bold enough to confront. The idea that reducing fuel price will suddenly boost the economy by reducing cost of living is too much of a dream. It will only scratch the surface. As for NLC, they had the opportunity to force a true change during Jonathan's government but they betrayed the civil societies and hardly are they taken serious anymore. Most of these so called comrades are future politicians who become as terrible as Oshiomole. Let's not even discuss the state. The present constitution renders them lazy and makes it easy for them to blame everything on poor national revenue. Even if they reduce the minimum wage to 10k, so many states won't pay because like their sugar daddy in Abuja (FGN), they are never interested in reducing cost of governance and state governors love raising their security votes. 5 Likes |

hyfr: You really did a research? Come on, you are the real MVP. Although Fashola selling 'almost' all FG properties to him is where your 'research' lost its grove. Ambode is not stopping anything, rather he was abandoning everything. Yes, Tinubu needs to stop trying to determine who must lead a state or represent a group of people but he is not Oduduwa or Oba. He is a dictatorial team captain and not the grand chess master every one thinks he is. Now that's something to truly research. 1 Like |

Come on! This sarakian strategy is becoming irritating. Is it a daily thing or should we expect these articles every hour? 4 Likes |

Many still think Tinubu is a grand chess master that moves things anyhow but those who are familiar with south west politics know he is only a formidable team captain with dictatorial power to some extent which he has used recklessly sometimes and met defeat.(eg. Ondo). Ambode's sin is his failure to mix governance with politics. He abandoned the structure (Tinubu's team) that bulldozed him to power. He is the star player that refused to work with the team. Captain Tinubu is not happy with him but the team is fed up and decided to find another star player. In fashola's case then, the captain Tinubu was not happy but the team members loved their star player (fashola) and tempered Tinubu's dictatorial power. If ambode decides to switch team, he will lose his seat and only time will tell if he will ever be able to build a political career. Need I say more? 1 Like |

goaldynman: A similar case has been taken to court and the supreme court ruled in favour of INEC. As for Maurice Iwu, anything he says about election in Nigeria is laughable. Even in his chosen career, his bitter kola claims on ebola is dubious. 1 Like |

TonyeBarcanista: You are on point. I don't know why people don't understand it. I don't like Tinubu's politics and I wish Lagos will get a new party for a change but you have to respect the man, he controls Lagos and since Funsho's death, no one in Lagos has had a structure that can trash him out. Unlike Fashola, Ambode's signature projects have failed. All because of his attempt to erase his predecessor's achievement but what he didn't know is that Fashola did not derail from the initial socio economic plan put together in the early 2000s by the likes of femi pedro, sanwoolu, hamzat and others under Tinubu's leadership. Tinubu is controlling but he treats members of his structure very well and they always have his back. People like Aregbesola, lai Mohammed, Chief Henry Ajomale constantly work with him. Even Fashola, who apparently abhors his controlling nature, stand by his side. Ambode messed up with the PSP deal and it exploded on his face but Tinubu is not ready to partake in that explosion. Let's watch as the drama unfolds 2 Likes 3 Shares |

iammo: Sounds like a good idea, but kogi, even ondo are Tinubu's secondary turf, Lagos is the home. Odikwa very risky for buhari's men o. It might actually implode APC at the national level. 1 Like |

iammo: Federal might, you say. You mean buhari should risk his own election for ambode. Tinubu remains relevant because he brings with him, the assurance of the old western and partially mid western Nigeria. |

Amacaco: The answer lies with the people who elect these officials. Time and time again, they have voted for whomever Tinubu supports. |

IbrahimDamola: Why are we quick to forget this is the same process that brought in Ambode? The Governor is in a dire situation and unlike Fashola, people are reluctant to plead on his behalf. He does not have the same level of popularity his predecessor had. Party leaders have been step sided just as Fashola did but Ambode has gone one step further, he tried to fix in his own people without recourse to the political supporters of Tinubu. The PSP deals he took away has hurt a lot of the politicians who owned the companies. To make matters worse, their replacements have returned Lagos to the dirtiness of the military era. While I long for another party to tk over Lagos, we must accept Tinubu's politics is deeply local and his reach and influence affect many people directly than we can imagine. |

revolt: Have you come to the conclusion that the refinery is govt owned when the information says it is a private investment? If it was govt built, then it makes no sense. But it is a private business and can build his refinery anywhere as long as govt approves. The fact that it is being built in katsina however makes it easy for suspicion since it is difficult to trust our politicians. 1 Like |

badesco: No country is dumping oil. No country can dump oil for now, until alternative energy is cheaper and cost effective on a large scale. How can you call oil investment a waste? Which planet are you from? As long as the business is not shady or a front for corrupt politicians, it can survive no matter who wins the election. |

revolt: While pipes do not have to be laid, it might be safer or economically feasible based on the terrain. US is not our biggest importer of fuel, and you cannot compare transatlantic crude trade with land borders. We can be suspicious of the private nature but if the private company will lay pipes and take crude commodity from another country, it has to be political, hence the bilateral agreement. 4 Likes |

I recently published a new post on my blog about overcoming fear and anxiety when it wants to stop you from bringing your plans to reality. Here is a summary. Fear can limit your success. Instead of taking chances, you stick to the status quo because it is safe. When you are afraid to take your ideas to the next stage, you tell yourself that you need not do it because others have done something similar. So what can you do? Split Your Tasks into Small Volumes Big ideas can scare. Break your big idea into small volumes and do them step by step. Simplify the process. Whatever your idea might be, every simple step is a chance to take another step towards achieving your goal. Don’t Dwell on the Fear Do not worry about what people will say about you or how success is impossible. You are not likely to succeed if you pollute your mind with these thoughts. Occupy your time by doing chores or other creative activities. Recollect Moments of Courage and Success Drown your fear by remembering things and periods when you were successful at something. Pull up those buried reminiscences of happiness and use it to drive an urge for accomplishing your goals. Speak to a Trusted Friend or Family Find a friend, mentor or family member who can encourage you after discussing your fears with them. A good support system can help you when anxiety cripples your ability to move forward. Stay Away From Negative Influences Negative influences come in different forms, from obnoxious friends to nosey colleagues, nasty siblings to overbearing church members, who use their words and actions to undermine you. Some steps you can take include paying less attention to them, walking away and avoiding an argument. Stop Seeing Failure as the Only Outcome Ask yourself: what’s the worst that could happen? Visualize all outcomes, accept it and take a step forward. Failure teaches you how to avoid a mistake. If you envision it as a challenging part of a process and not the outcome, you realize there is nothing to fear. There are opportunities to succeed, and your ideas are the golden tickets to this success. Fear cannot be an obstacle. It’s time to win. thorpido: On the contrary, it means the bible with all its quotations is filled with so many disagreements that it is always open to different interpretations. If you continue to hammer on your point, you are just like a drunkard who drinks from an emptied bottle, but claims he is enjoying every sip. Goodluck with that. |

omojeesu: Different catholic theologians and monks found aramaic and greek texts which they translated into latin texts. Most of the bible today are results of these translations. By the way, the new testament you hold so dearly draw lots of inspiration from the old testament. |

sonature1: It is not in the Bible. It was added later and approved by a catholic council. The catholic church is not sola scriptura, i.e. it does not do things by the bible alone! It takes into consideration, tradition and inspiration. Do you think the Holy Spirit stopped inspiring people after the writers of the literatures compiled into today's Bible? |
