Phones / Blackberry Storm Headache! by Lagoshyn: 6:44am On Jul 04, 2009
Hello,

I have an unlocked BBstorm, I am able to do everything on it- Send/recieve phone calls, email, internet, BUT, I am not able to send text messages! This just dulls the otherwise brilliant experience! Oh and it's extremely frustrating!!

I was able to send sms initially but now it's just the big red X.

ZAIN say they can’t help because it's the phone that refuses to store the relevant service centre number.

Any suggestions pls?

Tnx,

LS.

Chinoxyl, you don't know the half of it! Prayer and doggedness have brought the matter to this point where I have collected this much back.

Do you know how much I have spent on phone calls? Calling his wife, his brother, his pastor all in the US?

I even travelled to the US to go and look for him. I went to his house in Maryland, USA and he called the police to come and throw me out for trespassing.

As for Fhemmy, yes, "I should have played it smart, " please get the full info @ http://www.bozoautos.com/whole-story.asp.

Tunde BOzo's brother and cousins are my friends. He had helped me to by and ship vehicles once b4 and he was being paid a commission so, I wasn't expecting him to want to devour my capital.

Alas,

people,

pls help me to thank MIDAS for his comment on www.bozoautos.com

Somebody took my money (30k USD!) since september last year, he sent me a bad car, he refuses to pay my 3k balance and most people have told me that the guy has tried and so I should forget the rest!

some forget that the issue is not the money. If you undertake to do a thing, do it. If you're having problems, say so! You do not take peoples money and go and use it for your own business then complain when they shout! It's happening too often! You ask around; every oneknow someone who sent money to another and then story, story,

What is bad is bad. We need to stop condoning nonsense.

Stand up and be counted go to bozoautos.com and post a comment

I recall promising to keep you posted in this matter with "my car dealer friend". Anyway, I have posted the entire saga online, in case someone out there needs to here my story and learn.

Autos / Before You "order" Your Car From The Usa, Read This! by Lagoshyn: 11:29pm On Jul 15, 2008
Between October and November 2007, I sent the sum of thirty thousand and fifty dollars ($30,050) to a certain car dealer to buy me three Nissan pick-up trucks from the U.S. After weeks of stories and excuses and no cars, I called his siblings and his wife and they all basically told me to go and sort myself out with him as there wasn't much they could do to help.

After much wahala, he sent one (1) vehicle! A 2004 truck with odometer fraud!! It had thirty something thousand on the clock but the carfax showed that it had actually done 187,000miles!!!

In addition to the said truck this dealer has also refunded some money. He still has my balance which he literally has refused to pay.

You can read all the details @ www.bozoautos.com.

Getting my money out of this man has been a most harrowing experience. Without meaning to spoil business for those car dealers who collect ‘upfront’ payment, my experience has been that if you work for your money and you value your sleep, take your bank statement and print outs from autotrader.com to the embassy, they'll give u a visa. Otherwise, wait till the car gets here and pay market price.
That’s my own “2cents”.

Computers / Re: The Best ISP In Nigeria? by Lagoshyn: 2:03pm On Jul 05, 2008
I am suprised that DOPC is getting such positive reviews on this message board. I have used their go faster, "night crawler" package for six months and believe me, it really crawls. Oh and if drops and falls as well.

Sometimes I play freecell while waiting for the next window to open.

The service in my opinion is no better than multilinks dial-up which I was using before.

My subscription ends this month and I WILL NOT renew. Can someone recommend a decent isp. I have one computer and the internet service is required for home use.

Many thanks.

PS. Pls keep the technospeak to a minimum in your referals.
Autos / Re: What Must I Do To Drive In The Us? by Lagoshyn: 8:16am On Jun 20, 2008
I drive around with my Nigerian Driver' License and International Driving Permit.

The real challenge is that when I try to buy cars from dealers, they ask for insurance in order to provide temp tags, ALWAYS. The insurance people tell me I need a social security number and or US licence to get insurance.

I have neither.

I need to be able to drive these vehicle from the dealerships either to the ports or to a central place from where a transporter can move them to the ports.

Can anyone recommend an insurance company/ broker that can package a suitable policy?

I know it'll be expensive but it can be more expensive than using a tranporter for each vehicle for each trip.

I don't know if the tax id thing can work. From what I've seen online, it seems to be for people - yes non-resident - who are not eligible for SSN buy who are making money in the US to qualify to pay tax.

If you see it diffently, pls let me know.

I'm in the US - to buy cars for sale in Lagos - about 6times a year and each time I stay 7 - 10days.

I drive around with my NDL, thankfully, I've never been pulled over. Now the real challeng is that when I try to buy cars from dealers, they ask for insurance, ALWAYS. Now insurance people tell me I need a social security number and or US licence to get insurance.

Is there any way around this?

Talks with my car dealer "friend" have finally collaped. He claims he won't pay because I exposed him on another website.

I am exploring legal and other avenues of collecting my balance from him.

I appreciate the tip from Midas about FBI and IRS. At this rate, I'll probably need their service.

I will update my complaint on the said site and post a link here.

People,

Thank you for your concern. I may eventually disclose his details on nairaland and other Naija related fora.

2 things are at stake here:

1st,Humiliating him jeopardizes my balance

2nd I've reported him to his siblings and I've told them to tell his mum because if it does go public, it's their shame.

I'm meeting with his wife in Baltimore tomorrow to persuade her to persuade her husband!

Ko easy!

I'll keep you posted.

CAVEAT EMPTOR!

I was introduced to this young, hansome, well spoken Nigerian "car dealer" by his cousin.

He I sent him $7,800 and he sent me the truck I requested for. Perfect!

I sent him $30,050 for three truck all I have been hearing since na story!!

He sent me I truck which had done 188,217 miles; that's over 300,000kilometres!!!

He paid 8,000$ refund.

He's refused to pay the balance or send a car.

He has literally asked me to do my worst.

So, if you work for your money and u value your sleep, take your bank statement and print outs from autotrader.com to the embassy, they'll give u a visa.

That's what I've done now. I'm writting in from Ashburn, VA. I hope to meet my car dealer frien over the weekend and BEG him for my money.

I'll keep u posted.
