Hello to all my sexy mamas, it's been a while. I see people writing teamjune making me remember last year when I was also team June, how time flies. I have never gotten the chance to participate in the picture sharing, so I would like to share my LO picture but will take it off around 11pm. He is 7 months and 2 weeks now.

Hello,
Please I am a JJC in all these things so pardon me for the questions I want to ask.

Firstly I will like to relocate to the USA, in short that is my end aim, but to start with I want to apply for Masters and get an F1 visa.

However, I am married with a child and I read that an F2 visa holder can not work or study, but my child can go to school.

I will like to know how easy it is to get a job after my Masters so that I can adjust my status, and also how feasible is it that my husband can an employer who will be willing to adjust his status.
Or do we need to both apply for an F1 visa each, or should I apply for the J1 visa and reapply for a work permit after my two years residency expires. So many questions.

The thing I see a lot of people go for masters and invite their spouses, what do they do?

@Adewunmi. If you love your wife very well. I will advise you to tell her instead of taking tea she should take coffee with a cube of sugar. If you don't her to cost you for CS. When labouring... Okay and she always take the coffee every morning as well. Cos when taking much of soft drink, bournvita, peak milk. The weight of the baby will be big inside of her and that's cud bring a big problem for her delivery, and that cud bring about CS. Which may lead to you spending more of your funds and her health too. Vegatable is also okay for her at this period and if she can take whisky or dry gin that's cool as well. Goodluck

Really? as in Really coffee, whisky!!! Really??

big fat lie wink

i live in a country where everything about a child is well monitored.

my health visitor (that visits my baby at home to check on him and ensure he is well and hitting all his milestones) is fully aware/advised on reducing the ratio of water to the formula as she said its one of the main reasons why some babies are constipated.

the cheaper brand you switched to will definitely contain a lower percentage of whatever composition when compared with the high end brands which is why your baby wasn't constipated even though you stuck to the guidelines on the team.

my baby is on Aptamil. sticking to the Aptamil's suggested scoops leaves him constipated - i have tried this twice.

Madam abeg, take it easy o. this is the second time I will see you do this on this thread and its not healthy at all. You are not the custodian of all knowledge
Firstly, it was the issue of cough and cold syrup. Pediatricians says that it's not appropriate for children under 6years, you are saying it is. And I believe you are not a doctor, I agree that these drugs are sold over the counter but pediatricians are warning we mothers to stop using them and you were taking the issue personal like you know more than they do.
About the formula ,I have it on my brand of formula not to reduce the scoop or increase it as it can cause illness, I use to use isomil, I am sure it's written on nan too. Not everyone uses Aptamil and not everyone can use aptamil.
You may tag other formulas cheap but we are using them for our little ones proudly.
So madam, be considerate when you are making comments and read widely too. Thanks.

I av 2 nephews that are allegic to milk too. R u sure he can still take breast milk? because my SIL had to stop breastfeeding at 2months when they found out he had milk allergy (as adviced by d doctor). Also u should check well cos children with milk allergy r allergic to many food. My nephew does not eat anything containing milk, egg or oil. His fish and meat r baked instead of fried. He takes sausages and some other food. He uses barbecue sause to eat Eba cos he can't use soup except blank vegetable soup. He can't take anything with nuts.

My SIL explained how this was diagnosed (ie food he was allergic to). He was taken to. D hospital, placed nakeddd on d bed and different kinds of food was placed on his body. After some minutes, they cleard his body removing each food crumb one after d other. D ones he was allergic too created a spot/patch on his body and d ones his body accepted didn't create any patch/spot. So she wrote down everything and followed strictly till date. He is 5yrs now though d doc said he would outgrow it with time. Also she uses cetaphil liquid soap and moisturising cream for him.

My 2nd nephew(sister's son) has it as well and he is 8yrs now. His mum refused to follow doctors rule and gives him all kinds of food. She says God did not create her son not to eat normal food. But my dear u need to see when this boy has break out, he would scratch until he has sores but after somedays everything would disappear. But my sis keeps feeding him with all kinds of meal. His breakout comes and goes as well but not as often as b4.

I would advice u see an allergists/ dermatologist not just a pediatrician. Especially cos of d breastmilk u r still feeding him with and u can also read up online.

Above all keep praying for ur LO so God will heal him.

Thank you, I was also thinking he might be allergic to some other food, i am not so sure about breastmilk, I will ask again. Thanks

How about you express and addbreastbreastmilk to his cereal, and you can add a palm oil to his diet. U can ask ur paed if u can give him cod liver oil as supplement.....

Right now, expressing isn't an option, cos I go to work, I leave home 5.30 every morning and get back home around 7pm, most times I am overly exhausted. I usually go to his creche to breastfed him twice daily but nowadays whenever I go, he is not even in the mood for breastmilk. I will ask about the cod liver oil....I didn't know I can add palm oil, I was thinking of adding olive oil.

Why not get formula that's lactose free specifically made for babies with lactose intolerance?

He is not lactose intolerant, he has MILK ALLERGY, as in any type of milk. We thought he was lactose intolerant, so I changed to ISOMIL in September last year and his symptoms still persist till date, so I have to remove milk from his diet completely.

Hello people, how are our LOs doing.
My baby has been diagnosed of milk allergy, so I am to remove milk totally from his diet. He is 7 months, I can still breast feed though, but I am working and its quite difficult. Please what diet can I incorporated to give him calcium, iron and vit A. He takes, pap, semo, amala and cereal (gerber) but I can't give him cereal any more because I can't add milk. Or do I give him gerber cereal alone without water, I am thinking of adding fruit puree to his cereal. I seem lost, help pls.

My baby just turned 4 months, is it safe to start putting her in the baby walker? (Mil insists I start) , is it late to get a baby rocker now? please can anyone recommend a good nd AFFORDABLE breast pump?thank you very much,

It is way too soon for a walker, let your baby reach the milestone for sitting and rolling now till six months. My baby is 6 months and I am still delaying getting him a walker. The rocker I got is for babies between 3kg - 11kg, so it might not be too late to get one.

**sighs**

Mothers, what can I say? You are exactly where the company wants you to be by justifying with your own reasons why it should be okay to feed your baby with golden morn.

The word infant has several definitions depending on who is defining. Nestle initially gave their definition of infants to be 3 years which was very clear, but for some reasons best known to them, they removed that very important definition and left mothers second guessing who an infant is. Isn't that act fishy?

And as they rightly projected, mothers started feeding their infant babies with golden morn and justifying it with the fact that "infant" is not properly defined. So in essence, the company is gaining back its lost market share and at the same time avoiding litigation if anyone decides to sue them for any consequences that might arise from feeding babies with golden morn since they still have it written on the pack that it's not for infants. Perfect marketing strategy, but is it the best for babies and mothers?

And they have also refused to say exactly why it is wrong, thereby making mothers second guess why it is or not suitable for infants. I wish it were just an issue of "difficult to digest" but you will be surprised it is much more.

In all of this, I'll advise mothers to be very discerning when it comes to matters like this and choose to err on the side of caution. If there is so much confusion as to whether something is good for my baby or not, especially if it is something that is consumed; personally, I'll rather wait till I am double sure the food or medicine as the case may be is good for my baby. Babies are too precious to serve as guinea pigs in corporate experiments. I wouldn't take any known risk on my baby no matter how much my baby loves the food or medicine.

And talking of reaction, let's remember that some reactions do not manifests till months or even years later. God help us all in taking the right decisions for our babies.

Actually, Nestle didn't remove the warning. Please get a Golden mourn pack and read through it very well, It is now written there that Golden mourn is an acceptable everyday cereal for 9-13 years old only.. I was shocked when I saw it. I will try to snap it today when I get home as proof but you can check if you have a golden mourn pack. So if anything happens to your baby, they are all cleared.

I have never heard of that but we advice mothers the need to give PCM syrup before we start vaccination.

We were also told in the hospital that DO NOT give PCM before immunization because it reacts with the vaccine, and that PCM should only be given 8 hours after if the child is running a fever. I think this is the new standard now.

The massaging the spot with ice according to the nurse is to prevent swelling and to ease the pains.

Placing ice on the swollen spot help my baby a lot. I did not massage it with it though, cos the nurses told me not to in order to avoid further swelling. I just place it on it and remove it after a few seconds. He will cry whenever I place the ice at first but I kept applying it and within 24 hours it went down.

if tribotan is not working. It is unlikely to be fungal. Looks like seborrheic dermatitis or atopic dermatitis. Essentially it is a skin disease with triggers and can mimic a fungal infection. It can also be chronic. Try topical hydrocortisone and apply on affected area twice a day. You can get that at any pharmacy shop.

Please, avoid funbact A esp in children. It has a steriod component that is way too high for children.
Thank you

Mamas, pls, has anybdy heard of givin a drop of "kafura" water to baby 2help dem poo, pls,i nid ur response
I got this from 'ask the pediatricians' page.

Kafura (white tar) is an aromatic hydrocarbon similar to Camphor. And like camphor, it is chemically manufactured from turpentine oil. It has a pungent irritant smell like camphor and other oils like Eucalyptus, and is used in products such as RubRub/Robb imitations. Like the other similar products, it is designed for external use only!!! But by the time you decide to start ingesting it, it is at your own risk and you have nobody to blame. It is also important to understand its volatility, hence ingesting in can lead to chemical injuries to you gut and to your lungs.

Kafura?? You mean those pungent round things

Please don't!!! 7 months, 7years, 70years, it's not of any value. Its dangerous!! You can as well give him soap or insect spray!! They are in the same category! Please don't!!

Aromatic hydrocarbon, including camphor, kafura, and even other mineral oils definitely have their health benefits.

These may include: Their properties as a stimulant, antispasmodic, antiseptic, decongestant, anesthetic, sedative and nervous pacifier, antineuralgic, anti-inflammatory, disinfectant, and insecticide substance.

But REMEMBER:
These substances are TOXIC and can be FATALLY POISONOUS if ingested in excess. Ingestion of a slight overdoses can be LETHAL. It’s always safe to remember that a substance which is toxic for insects can be toxic for human beings as well.

JEDIJEDI IS NOT A DIAGNOSIS!!!

It is a local diagnosis that some people have coined as an umbrella term for several types of GIT gastrointestinal problems.

If your child has any git problem, please see your doctor for the correct diagnosis and proper treatment.

I hope this helps

Sabi mums....I greet you and yours loyally.

Am a FTM and my LO is 10days old. I had him via a C-section so I couldn't breastfeed him for like 2days, had to resort to NAN 1 to feed him and given the fact that I don't eat well enough (placed on light foodies like pepper soup and all that) breast milk isn't flowing really well like it should though I still breastfeed and support with NAN 1.

My issue is I feel am not taking proper care of his feeding utensils like I should do. I want to care properly for anything that goes into his mouth. Please how do I do that? I don't have a sterilizing set, is there a way I can improvise one? Teach me please.

Thank you.
Get a small bucket, I used the one that came with his bat set and buy Milton sterilizing tablet, it's about 600 max. You use just one tablet for 24hours. Good luck

A lot of people have been saying their baby cries a lot, as a FTM my baby also cries a lot, he can cry for Africa but I always knew something was wrong, I was told it's colic and he will outgrow it, at a time I thought he wasn't getting enough milk so I got NAN 1 for him, so I was sure he's getting enough milk but he still cries, I went to see about 3 doctors cos my instinct kept telling me he's not fine, twas the third doctor who suggested I change his formula to a lactose free formula that my baby might be lactose intolerant, so I changed his formula to Ismail and that was it, his crying stopped.
So my advice is start by introducing formula if you think your baby is not getting enough, if that doesn't solve the problem try to ascertain that it's colic which the baby will outgrow, if by 3 months your baby still cries a lot, try a lactose free milk.

Well I see people telling you not to tell her son but from experience similar to yours even worse, my mil steals my money anytime she comes around or if I go see her and she will now borrow money from me again. What solved mine was telling her son, and also informing her that we make all financial decisions TOGETHER, once she knew I can't give her money without my husband's knowledge and vice versa, she stopped asking. There's a reason why it is said the two shall become one in marriage, it is for both of you to fight this kind of battle together, once she senses that division, she will use it a against you with her son.
My husband knew who his mother is and was not surprised when I told him and he made sure his mother saw our togetherness in all things and it's been helping me so far.

Zaynie dear...Tho I didn't engage in the pineapple therapy, I never took the walking and kpekusing thing for jokes.... Even when I didn't feel like I did it as a routine.

Why I feel bad is Doc should seen it coming rather than wait till am this far gone to bring my attention to it. He told me baby is big but vaginal delivery was possible hence I chilled else I would have gotten it over with at 38wks - 40wks.

I believe in the God of 11th hour....I will take your advise to heart.....Thanks ((((Hugs))))

I wouldn't want you to blame the doctor at all, he might not see it coming, every pregnancy is different, every woman is different. Your baby could have decided to come earlier and vagina delivery was possible at 38 - 40 weeks. He couldn't have known that your cervix would still be close at 41 weeks.
I was also in the same situation, my cervix was still close at 41 weeks and in my case the cost of cs was 550k, I did not plan for it at alllll, we had to find the money within a week and had cs done making me to give birth at 42weeks. Just trust God and he will surprise you.
I have learnt a lesson cos I am a FTM, the next missionary journey, I will start saving for cs right from day one....and if we don't get to use it, it will be extra cash for us when baby comes and I think all mamas should also do this, as much as we all want vagina delivery, please start saving money on the side for a possibe c-section cos you might need one.
May God see us all through.

Peadeatricians often advise against the use of powders in babies cos they tend to inhale the fine particles of the powder, why not see a doctor, I know a lot of people prescribed baby tribotan, I use Shea Butter mixed with coconut oil though and it works for me.

Hello all mamas in the house, how are we doing. I know we have all gone through child birth experiences so I know we can relate to what I am to say.
Since I had my baby, I have been feeling some how, I don't know if it's depressed or irritating and my challenge is this. I was naked a lot during my child birth process and a lot of people inserted their hands inside me in the name of checking my cervix. I cringe any time I remember this even as I am typing I am barely holding it together, it's not been easy for me.
After some days I had my baby, I had to go back to the hospital cos I was bleeding profusely, by the way I had a c-section, so I had another dose of being touched and different things been inserted down there to help remove blood clots.
The thing now is I haven't been over this incidences, I feel highly uncomfortable in my own skin, I can't stand being naked, I can't stand not wearing pants, I feel so vulnerable.
As much as I understand that all they did was to safe my life, I just don't get how I feel, I haven't even been able to talk to my husband about it.
