You should make full payment of your flight before bank will process your CBN PTA. This is because the bank will confirm payment of the return ticket flights from the airline before processing the PTA.

Mind you, the bank has obligation to check the airline that you actually used the flight you have paid for the journey and returned back to Nigeria. If you don't use the flight after getting the PTA, the bank will send your name to CBN for blacklisting until you return the PTA that was given to you.

This information was given to me by my bank (Stanbic). I have used several PTAs without issues.

Don't follow Utad advised, Portugal embassy doesn't grant visa for undergraduate student talk-less of language courses. Even here in Portugal they don't issue study permit for people study one year Portuguese language. I have a lot of friends from Senegal facing these problem.

For me it's not even about future generations but job security, once you get fired on your remote job. It's difficult to get another one. Sometimes it might take you upto 5 months even with years of experience.

Not forgetting the fact that when you are in Europe you get access to more remote opportunities compared to Nigeria. Also, companies in Europe or UK are more likely to want to file from you vs when you are in Nigeria.

I used to live in the EU, and when I applied to 10 jobs I'd get at least 6 interviews. since moving to Nigeria, if I get 2 it'll be a miracle. Same qualifications btw.

I don't think anyone pays that not even in poor European nations to Devs. Salaries in Poland that's amongst the poorest in Europe are like 15000 polish zloty which comes down to 3500 euros a month. Absolutely, most people earn much more than that. But the minimum income to qualify for the visa is about 1000 euros. The actual figure is lower than 1k but 1000 to be safe. I was shocked when she said she'll stay in Nigeria.

Not everything in life is about money. Sometimes you have to sacrifice for your future generations.

Good call. But the truth is there's a lot of countries in Europe where all you need is 1,200 euro salary from a job to move, and you don't need to give up you 10k a month package for a lower offer. You get a visa with your remote job, the pandemic has opened up many opportunities for people.

I was speaking to someone I know who works remotely, she said she'll rather stay in Nigeria. So I'm just trying to see if that is the common reasoning amongst people.

The ones that don’t attend Ivy League, their parents would pay for an apartment in the most expensive location in London.
