People should remember that Buhari retired the officer that said he can't find his certificate in his military file in the guise that he and others got themselves involved in partisan politics.
Nigerians now know that the man was right anyway.

If Buhari has his certificate, he should produce it or quietly resign before the court embarrass him. our law is clear on minimum requirement for presidency. He has killed his integrity with this singular act

As a centre for research and training, LAPO Institute organises the conference on Microfinance and Enterprise Development (CMED). The conference brings together academics, practitioners and policy makers to examine the current state of microfinance and enterprise development in the African continent with a view to expanding outreach and deepening its impact on national development.



The 1st edition was held on the 6th–7th of July 2015 in Benin City, Nigeria. It explored the theme: “Microfinance, Social Inclusion and Nations Development”. The next meeting is scheduled for the 17th–18th of August 2016 and will be held at LAPO Institute, Benin City, Nigeria. CMED 2016 will explore the theme, “Confronting the Scourge of Poverty through Microfinance: Issues and Challenges”.



The 2015 thesis support grant which saw the sum of N1.3 million being awarded to postgraduate students has now been expanded to include support grants for new start-ups under the Institute’s SIFLEN programme. The top 3 participants from the SIFLEN programme will be awarded this grant.
