Agenda dey cancel Agenda. grin

Funnily enough, nobody has stopped anybody from importing fuel or diesel.

So, why isn't it cheaper, since monopoly hasn't started?

Exchange rate. Normally fuel should be more expensive than it is currently. The government is currently paying subsidy whether they deny it or not.

I believe the sensible thing should've been looking for a way to get Dangote refinery to start producing fuel and redirect whatever subsidy they are paying to Dangote to make the price even crash down the more since Dangote won't include landing cost and all to his own price template.

Mele Kyari just dey give us new dates everytime for the start of PH refinery.

I'm only pushing back against the idea that Tinubu is completely absolved from whatever is going on between his government and Dangote.
These guys have had it in for Dangote for over a decade. After Dangote and Otedola bought a refinery under OBJ, they got it reversed under Yar'Adua.
GEJ and Buhari kept the wolves at bay and gave him every support they could.
Then Tinubu enters, refinery is rolling out products, and now there are issues. But Tinubu has no hand...

I agree with Larride that this will be resolved.
But Dangote will sweat a little and Tinubu will drag his feet.

-Lord

It was the same Mele Kyari that was CEO of NNPC during Buhari tenure that is still the CEO till now. It was the same Mele Kyari that promised Dangote crude oil and then went ahead to use the same crude oil to borrow funds during both Buhari and now Tinubu admin which lead to Dangote first complaining about the delay of receiving crude from NNPC.

I'm all for both of them to dirty their linen on public so we know what exactly the issues are and see who is fleecing us.

Tinubu will drag his feet because most of these issues and agreement were inherited from the past admin and a reasonable leader will try to understand what's happening before intervening. That's why I said whatever is happening between them will be resolved in due time.

Dangote has been accompanying the President on most of his economic trips and is part of the economic advisory council, there's little or nothing to suggest both men are fighting each other.

I distinctly recall the Dangote Group confirming the raid and calling it an "unwarranted embarrassment".
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-01-11/nigeria-s-business-community-unnerved-after-aliko-dangote-office-raid

I guess we're back to running the Buhari "not aware" narrative.

-Lord

There's no narrative anywhere. Most agencies do not even require the President express order to do something they are constitutionally empowered to do.

You are smart enough to know the President won't be everywhere or even know some things that were happening.

That's how we were hearing that Meffy had already concluded the naira design with the board before informing Buhari of it.

The raid was purely performative as is usually the case with these government agencies.

What were they expecting to find?, A cash bag of dollars?

CBN/Emefiele was being investigated for significant amount of dollars they alloted to different companies; around 60 of them - which was given to them under a special window. They wrote to these companies to provide evidence of use of these funds as it was common knowledge that most of them were just roundtripping the FX.

Read the below. Like I said, I'll rather believe a PLC than a useless government agency

https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/656777-dangote-speaks-on-efccs-raid-of-its-headquarters.html?tztc=1

They said it's Tinubu attacking Dangote. grin

Make everybody believe whatever they want to believe.

So who is fighting Dangote nau.
Is it cabal that is using the presidency or are you going to say like buhari, tinubu isn't aware of what's going on?

You right bro. Na Tinubu send Mele Kyari and the other agency boss to go grant interview an accuse Dangote.

Sticking with numbers and less innuendos and based off of all the videos so far, I'm more on the side of Dangote than the other party - be it government, cabal or the regulatory agency. 3 accusations has been laid against him and he's provided solid counters to them

Higher Sulphur content - currently at 30ppm and not the 600 being mentioned is also likely to still drop - he's even challenged them to come do another check. I'll rather believe a quote from a plc than a useless failed Nigerian regulatory agency -

Monopoly - he isn't, at least with the cement business, he got into the business when Lafarge already had a major presence. He does have first mover advantage in some other areas which he's alluded to. People who put their skin in the game are allowed to reap the rewards of their labor. I'll like to see other companies take up the steel challenge he gave

Govt help - this one, I slightly disagree with, Its no news he's received some form of incentive from government in time past, maybe not this refinery but the other ones.

The honest truth that it is in the best interest of Nigeria for this refinery to work. Him getting local crude could also be beneficial for all parties. Maybe some subsidy negotiation/payments to him instead of NNPC can provide a level of respite for people at this moment instead of the rubbish cash transfers they usually do

Dangote dey try no be lie.

State house media was used to push agenda against Dangote and you say tinubu doesn't know.
Nor be today this issue start Bros.
You sef know

Which issue gan gan? If you think this is Tinubu v Dangote I have nothing else to tell you again at this point. You can believe whatever you want to believe.

Well, he is taking his sweet time.
BTW, who approved the EFCC raid on Dangote's corporate HQ?

-Lord

Both Dangote and EFCC denied the raid, didn't they?

Dangote management themselves said though EFCC did visited their headquarters, they didn't take any document from their office and the document they were requesting for was for 2014.

EFCC did not need Tinubu approval to visit or investigate anybody or corporation.

Definitely

Regimes come and go, Dangote group remains.

Let us see how many Nigerians will rush the steel industry now.

Those who say Dangote no sabi business other than enjoying monopoly should enter into the steel industry now make we observe.

Las las everyone will give Dangote his due credit. Doing business in this clime is not easy

I doubt Tinubu have any hand in what's happening with the refinery sef. Tinubu has been involving Dangote in all of his economic plan and committee that it makes no sense to start targeting his billion dollar investment.

The coming days or week will bring much needed clarity into the whole matter.

Of the three candidates, only Atiku has made a campaign plank going back more than a decade of dismantling the refinery and oil cabal.
That's the primary reason Dangote unfurled an umbrella.
Of course, he hedged his bets with his traditional both sides donations as any savvy capitalist would.

What is the total sum of the subsidy he received from Meffy?
Do you have a number?
Because AFAIK it amounted to less than 10% of his total $investment.
And it is less than what we've spent on TAM since APC stepped in.

And this is not about that.
Part of this is about 2027 and just normal political tussle.
Like he pitched his tent with Atiku who would have sold the refineries. This is the cabal getting back at him because their horse won.
Tinubu isn't stepping in, because a weakened Dangote is good for 2027.

-Lord

Lol if you think Tinubu won't step in.

they re still in the process of onboarding, currently they re at the phase of wallet linking, you have to link your ton wallet, either telegram built in wallet or tonkeeper wallet..

I'm bullish on ton ecosystem especially after their collaboration with telegram, they re trying to make waves by incentivising , throwing some cheap money around, notcoin was a hug success and a stepping stone 🪨, but seems they ain't done ✅ yet,

Maybe dogs 🐕 might replicate notcoin or even surpass it, it might even flop also as nothing is impossible in this space..

So if you have done the first stage , you might want to link your ton wallet now..

I faded notcoin because I saw it as a cheap stuff which was over saturated by every díck and harry, not cooked, people who don't know anything about crypto got as much as $300, some more, some less.. it even cooked more than retroactive airdrops like zro and zk
So this time around im living no stone 🪨 unturned.. I'm pressing buttons all over the place

(N/b) This is one of my wallets as I have 3 active tg accounts and wallets

Na my response to this post make antispam bot ban me oh.

Notcoin succeed because of Pavel Durov. Durov is the cofounder of Telegram and TON. There was money to throw around. No other project will allocate 90% to the community anymore.

Catizen should begin their airdrop preparation from this week, if it doesn't cook, I doubt any other project on TON will cook again. For example see Pixelverse.

It's obvious he's ready to fight for the refinery to work.
And like you said, the man will fight it out for 4yrs (this is if tinubu wins again).

Also it's not looking good for the government because so far, nothing illegal can be used against him and this is now being termed as a witch hunt against a prominent northerner just because he didn't support you in your presidential campaign (allegedly)

Then there is the outlook this cast on potential business prospects.

What happens if Dangote removes his company from NGX?

The refinery will work.

You are forgetting that Dangote is part of the economic council members that Tinubu inaugurated?

......same you littered the thread with 'when will Dangote start producing'. Same you claimed Dangote maga every single Nigerian with the Refinery cos he got fx at subsidized rate and lot more.

I know you are senseless, hence ain't surprised you have forgotten when you won't allow larride to rest with Dangote this Dangote that. LOL!

I'm surprised he's supporting Dangote now. grin
