I just looked at this from another angle. Rubber tanks can actually hold it. Say we do four(4) one thousand gallons. Just like below

Am thinking on something good and economical, because steel tank of 20,000 litres will be so so expensive.

to make an estimate, I need to know the height which you will want the tank stand to be.

For it to be simple, what's the height of the tallest building in the estate

Can't really say, the tallest is a story building with a basement. That should be more than 20ft

for a 20,000 liters, it's best to do steel tank. That's the only way the water pressure will remain constant same until the last drop of water.

Oh, please try to make a rough estimate

two(2) 1000 gallons at the top and one (1) 500 gallons at the middle. Making a total of two thousand five (2,500) gallons. It's customizable to fit your specific water needs.

The materials are:

6 by 3 H beam channel(stands and load beams)

4 by 2 H channel (for the poline)

6 by 3 plates for the guzzets

2" angle iron for the diagonals

12 by 12 by 10mm for the base plates

Can you design something for a commercial estate of 20 flats. We are looking at about 15,000 to 20,000 litres of water. Also let's compare steel tanks to using rubber tanks. Thanks

so yes, after building your expensive house, you don't ruin it. You make it beautiful all round including the tank stand

What's the volume of the tanks here?

Can you please share contact? I was yokd yhey are better than all this local.. We have alot of them in ABUJA but i never see anyone in lagos and i need to do a borehole very very soon

Indians rigs have limitations, they might nt work well in a weak terrain. Depending on their configurations anyway

I did shallow borehole in Lekki for less that amount sef. So different terrain for different reasons for the varying cost.

Always refer to geological survey, if you doubt the competency of your borehole driller.

In the case of Enugu. The geological survey has it at 200 - 210meters that we will see water.

And guess what, we saw water at exactly 200m.

The whole details is on the thread.

Is the shallow at Lekki free of salt?

A 21 floor building on Gerrard road should have nothing less than 40 - 50m deep pile.

I’ll start from the company that did the pile. Did they actually achieve the recommended depth?

Those who know knows.

After then you can move to the PIT guys, did they actually carried out the test?

See what happened after just one rainfall...

And I got it 10,000 per carton in Ibadan instead of about 8,000 in Lagos..

Money lost.

I think it's supposed to be polished after installation.

Good evening house, I have been offline since Friday but that thank God am back.

I was robbed on Otedola bridge heading to secretariat on Oct 1st by some Bad boys around 7,30pm.

They collected everything including my ATM. But thank I quickly called my account officer to block my account.

It was a terrible situation anyway

Sorry bro, thank God for safety.

Got an offline msg that I should shed more light on subsoil investigation and the importance.

______

We’ve actually done this many times here but I’d share something from the Test we carried out in 2011.

_______

No matter the size of your house, it is highly advisable to investigate the compaction characteristics of the soil you want to build on as this will tell you if the soil is a satisfactory foundation material.

Soil test is not just a means of enriching engineers/builders/town planners but a scientific way of confirming the suitability of soil for a proposed development.

_________

A soil might be satisfactory for one type of construction but might require special treatment for other building. The test will confirm the suitability of soils for foundation based on strength, cohesion and consolidation characteristics of the soil.

Most people would ve completed building, neglecting the bearing capacity of the soil before carrying out geo-technics. They do this for cover ups, maybe for approval purposes or its on demand.

Some engineers don't even open up fully to the geologist/ geotechnical engineers on the scope of the building, a bid to reduce cost for the investigation and this will definitely reduce the scope of work to be carried out.

These are major issues in Lagos which every builders need to look into in other to reduce settlement or collapse.

Which part of Nig is this? What do u mean by overburden?

That's southwestern Nigeria, Osun State. The overburden is the layer overlying the basement (granitic) rock

Motorize Bore hole diggers in the house... see jobs ooooo... give use price per meter of feets..

Geotech survey is very important too...

in Abuja... there are some Indian bore hole guys... they just ask you where you want the bore hole in your compound..
there price is fixed with casement... it ranges between 6k to 7k per meter.. they don't want to know if rock is inside or not.. they just dig...

Hoping to meet such guys in the south west

We have Indian rigs here in the sW. Most are adapted for basement(granitic) drillings and the works are completed within few hours.

The rotary rigs are specialised for sedimentary drillings, there timeline for a job is around 1-3days or more depending on the scope and formation. They usually charge on a lump sum... Around 500k to millions. Manual drilling which is cheaper can work in its place in most case.

Pls am looking to dig a borehole somewhere around Mowe-ofada. I did survey and i got 280 feet.

I need a driller. Kindly recommend a good one please.

The rocks here are sedimentary, shale and sandstone. Manual drilling might not work. You will need a motorised rotary rig.
