You would need to apply for an open work permit for your spouse and include your son as well so that when your PGWP is being approved, Your spouse and son get approval as well. Remember to fill your PGWP application properly and include all required documents as that is what determines if their application would be approved and he would be granted same length as your PGWP. Start reviewing the Express Entry program ooo because before you know the PGWP is close to expiration. Was your program a year or two year program?

Thanks. A two year program

When you have too many information it could be confusing most times. It's illogical for your hubbie to also come down there without your boy. VO will definitely consider your boy at this stage so its either you come back home and take care of your boy while your hubbie also go pursue his Canadian education or he (your hubbie) include the poor boy in whatever plan he's got as regards TRV.

I have strong faith that by the Spirit of the risen CHRIST his next try will end in praise. So let oga come with your son. Abi u neva mis am ni? If you have then tell the VO how much you've missed your family and also why it's better they come over instead of you coming. You have concluded your studies which didnt come cheap and PGWP is needed for you to get a first hand experience which is also part of the education so you cant come home now until the end of your PGWP.

Infact, all the previous docs submitted will be good. Just include a strong, humble, and pathetic letter each.

Thanks bro.well noted.Haha who wouldn't miss him?Infact he is the major reason why I am doing all this o.I didnt want to bring him because of school.I relaxed when i discovered cost of creche is bout 1200 to 1700 dollars monthly and he was just 2 then.Thats like a term fee in Nigeria.
I had planned on applying for him from here once his dad got his visa and you know it is easier for children once the parents are here.Plans will just have to change now

I have 7 years gap in education and my cgpa is lower than his but I still got direct admission into a Masters programme in a reputable university. Once you are sure of the Masters program he wants to apply for, find 3 or 4 schools in 3 or 4 diff provinces which offer that program. Before you apply to the schools, email the graduate admissions secretary, giving a summary of his credentials, and ask what chances he has of being admitted. These people are sincere enough to tell you whether you stand a chance or not. If you just apply without emailing speaking with an admissions staff first, you are just playing NairaBet with you application money.

Once you guys make up your minds on which masters programme, lemme know so I can join in the search for universities that might me willing to offer admission.

Thank you.well he studied agric economics so will be checking dalhousie as suggested by @hayqinsbFX. which school are you in?

The Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is more highly regarded than a PGD in project management and CIC knows that you can easily get a PMP here in Nigeria and so might not find it a credible enough reason to go abroad for study. I think you should go with haquinsbfx suggestion of an Agric programme. Is there any reason why you don't want to go for a Masters?

Thanks for your response.I actually thought of this too. we are considering dalhousie.his cgpa is 4.11 but has an education gap of bout 8 years or more which I feel is the reason we have not been able to get him a school for masters (just my opinion o).since he finished school, he has been working. He applied to different schools and dìdnt get an offer so we tried the colleges.

Hello Laureek,

Sorry about the delay after raising the hopes high. I can imagine what it feels like being 2 years without your boy and hubby.
It'll soon be over. Your faith is commendable.

With the advise you have being given so far, you should be fine.

In my place, there is an adage that says : "Wetin remain one don finish already". When the time comes, please make sure your boy is deep asleep before the match begins. grin

Lol.Thanks so much.I appreciate everyone's input.God bless you all. as for that sleep ehn...that's the time he wakes o .he never misses it

Now you will agree with my observations. A SOWP with an SOP detailing my earlier points would have gotten him his TRV. All that is required from us is to be systematic and not try to openly fool the VO on our intentions. 99.9% of anyone going to Canada is basically for PR (I stand to be corrected) and the VO knows but they also need us to join their force in retaining their global ranking and status. but 'Ko ti baje'. You have two options now.
1. You wait till you get your PGWP then you invite them over. You have a strong reasons in your 4yr old son and also your Union. They do not support distance relationship either and you let them know that the future of your son being raised by a single parent all along is at risk.
2. Let him refire explaining to the VO his intention which is not only to study but to reunite with you, both himself and your son have greatly missed your motherly role and wifey role respectively. Tho acknowledging the fact that your study will forever be a boost to the family status.
As a woman you will have to write a letter to back this up by going as far as humbly telling the VO that in pursuit of success, a lot have to be sacrificed, your family, your marital role and most importantly SEX. This could sound funny but you need to let the VO feel sober and pity your condition. If possible tell the VO you sometimes need to go as far as sharing between each other via Skype ur nudity which still can not replace couples been together. Hope am not sounding too ....am sorry but canada is worth it provided you have even spent some tuition money there which must have help their economy in its little way.

LOL. I just fell off my chair o. Thanks for the great advice my brother.

now u see that these VO has seen that his true intention was to migrate and not study.
A job where? He doent need a job in canada to qualify oo

Please can you provide any links if you have or where i can read more on express entry.when they started it, I knew there was something about having a valid job offer in canada. Also, couldn't our son have been a strong tie and enough evidence that he doesn't plan on migrating?

Ooh it's clearer now. Are you married? If yes, hope he disclosed in his app that you are already there, your program and current status as regards your program? If all this are not disclosed the VO will be left with nothing than to think he's coming to join you as you are not likely to return.

Maybe you should supply us with more information as regards your relationship with reference to his app. Purpose of Travel is also when the VO feels and concludes your intention for coming is PR. So to tackle it I think we should know more.

Yeah we are married with a 4 year old son.I left when he was 2 and we clearly stated all these in his application. We were initially worried bout putting my canadian address in his application but we just had to be honest. Then the reason why he did IELTS was cos of express entry but it is just kind of complex.he has to have a job here too to be able to apply.so many requirements

In his response to them, let him state the importance of going with you; I.e total concentration to your studies as you will not have to be coming home during break in order to see him, it will help keep your relationship stronger n with SOWP he will be able to support you financially while you study. He can also highlight the dangers of distance relationship.

It will surely end in praise in JESUS name, amen.

Amen o.thanks for the suggestion. The thing is i am already in canada and just finished my program. About applying for my post grad work permit. I think we should have done this earlier while i was a student. so any more options to be considered would be greatly appreciated.

Update: Hubbys application (opeyemi8) was refused.he got to the hospital for his medicals and they couldn't pull up his information.went back to check for any updates and discovered a refusal mail was actually sent about 2hrs after he got a a mail to do medicals.
Reason for delay:Purpose of visit ,travel history and they are not convinced he is coming back.

The only thing I can pinpoint is they are hitting their quota for september resumption...

And masters application have gotten more preferences over diplomas...

My own lame man view..

I dont think this view is lame though.was just discussing this with my friends and one mentioned this happened to him last year.he did medicals and was denied after for insufficent funds.he re-applied but this time didnt have to do meds again and was given his visa and the conclusion he gave was they brought this woman for 2 weeks who felt the quota for the year had been reached.how he came about that conclusion,i dont know sha o.I have done my thanksgiving on behalf of hubby so I refuse to be bothered by this recent development.
