Romance / Re: Something I Cannot Solve by Leadmyster(m): 12:36am On Apr 27, 2007
@mohawkchic,
Permit to say that ure very smart and experienced. Ive read a few of ur comments on relationship and i mostly agree with them

@topic,
Maybe you go for non-wifey girls? Consider what attracts you to a girl and examine if its the quality that non-wifey's posses. Cheers
Romance / Re: My Parents Do Not Agree With My Relationship With A Jamaican Woman by Leadmyster(m): 2:21pm On Apr 26, 2007
@sketch,

I'd say if ure happy with lady, then go on and do it. They'll come back after a few years when you lot celebrate your wedding anniversary Lol

The generations is already changing, but our parents cannot be changed, its unfortunately too late

I'm definitely gonna be the one choosing my wife, and i dont care if she's australian or polish
Career / Re: Can You Employ Your GirlFriend? by Leadmyster(m): 1:51pm On Apr 26, 2007
I'll probably not. There may be exceptions and she may be good for the firm but trust me it would be bad for the relationship in the long run

imagine you she knows everything that happens to u at work

imagine the other workers hating on her cos she's the boss' girl

imagine how u get to see her all the time, even see others flirting with her

imagine you want to promote her and others think youre doing a "Wolfowitz" ?

Imagine if u had to fire your girl for gross misconduct
Politics / Re: Is BEN TV An Extention Of NTA? by Leadmyster(m): 1:39pm On Apr 26, 2007
I dont think Ben Tv is being used by the government in anyway, as Disguy said, they have no correspondents in Nigeria and rely on the NTA to get Nigerian news here to us in the UK.

These are my assumptions: -

I want to remind you that AIT and other private channels are subject to control from the NBC/NTA, could it be that they banned them from sending broadcast materials to BEN TV ?

I hear AIT has been facing victimization from the government lately, some of thier staff were arrested by SSS and important machinery confiscated.

Are we sure they are still in business in Nigeria?

if they are, could it be that the materials confiscated by Govt. officials are necessary for broadcast outside Nigeria?

Could it also be that BEN TV had no choice but to subscribe to NTA?
Romance / Re: My Parents Do Not Agree With My Relationship With A Jamaican Woman by Leadmyster(m): 1:14pm On Apr 26, 2007
@sketch,

Your story sounds so familiar that it makes me think i know U

this happens to every nigerian guy in Lonon/UK, its like it is the curse of being british Nigerian

My parents asw well dont want white, carribean and not even Igbo, so I advice you worry less about your parents and focus on the girl.

QUESTIONS YOU WANNA ASK YOURSELF

Does she respect my country and culture?
Is she the marraige type (not all these "dutty wine girls" grin) ?
Can she be enough to support me mentally, emotionally and financially if my family deserts me?

Will she always make me happy, (koko) ?

if you answer YES to all these questions, then say goodbye to Akpu and Welcome to Jerk chicken grin grin

Politics / Re: Forced To Vote Against His Wish by Leadmyster(m): 9:32am On Apr 26, 2007
@TayoD,

I see u can now read minds cos i actually do not believe the INEC office bomb story. Don't no one try to make me think different. And i still think its pointlesss to force anyone to vote.

I quote yor statement on the 2003 elections in Ogun state, thats the simple thing INEC does, manipulate figures which no one in or outside Nigeria can dare counter. The 2003 guys were much smarter

However, considering the fact that the 2007 candidates for PDP are dumber than usual (Imagine Yaradua as Nigerian president), i am beggining to see reason why they would have had to use such crude methods.

In agreement with Tex, my fear for Nigeria is that the youths are actually more corrupt. Ten years back, we were clamouring for the youths to take hold of affairs and hoped that things would be better, that time has come and youths fare worse.

Who will save Nigeria
Romance / Re: 3 Years Together And I'm Not Feeling Him Anymore by Leadmyster(m): 9:11am On Apr 26, 2007
I think im going to go with Mohawkchic on this one, you may try her advice and spice up things in the relationship.  Or try this 4 step process:-

1. Tell him how you're feeling and what you plan to do

2. Get some breathing space, (not test the waters)> Seeing someone all the time somehow gets boring

3. Start the dating process all over again, eat out, romantic dinners, calliing eact other 2wice a week (yeah, just twice) and try finding out why you fell for him in the first instance

4. After a period, discuss your chances of spending the rest of your life together (tell him things that you don't like about him vice versa). You need to be analytical because this is your last chance to bolt if youre with the wrong guy

Hope it works out for you, but try this out before leaving him

Politics / Re: Forced To Vote Against His Wish by Leadmyster(m): 1:13pm On Apr 25, 2007
@Tex,

Apology accepted my brother, i know we all feel passionate about this topic but we should not always result to insulting each other, only pussies like TayoD do that.

The reason why i asked to hear your story is because i respect your opinions and i know you would not tell us a cock n bull story unlike the BBC guy.

The guy met a fully mechanised "vote rigging" squad and still decided to go and join them to vote

We all know how Nigeria works don't we? That was an illegal (based on timeof the day) polling booth and anything could happen

On the other hand, the thugs at your local booth took advantage of the fact that you were undecided over a senatorial candidate and decided to add your vote to their tally. Plus you voted PDP in presidential elections of your own accord, that translates to them that you are a PDP faithful and will vote the party in any election regardless of the identity of the candidate.

My point is, if you had made up your mind to come vote Atiku for president and Odili (for example) for senator from home in a legal polling booth, they would not have crowded on you to vote PDP, or rather you could go back home and refuse to vote.
I mentioned Lagos because i witnessed  Abiola's SDP and NRC elections which was probably the scariest elections in a highly volatile part of Lagos (Unilag environs), yet no one was forced to vote.

It will be stupid of them to force you to vote knowing fully well that you may "whistleblow" when they can easily manipulate the figures at INEC office  grin

Blah blah blah. The only thing she can do is make his life miserable at work. She wont give him no millions, and she cant kill him. He has experience already, he needs to start looking for another job

Why dont u just tell him or get someone that can tell him. If he has loved you like a sister, he would probably want you to be his wife. And if he doesn't feel the same way, he would understand and not make you feel like an idiot.

In my experience, he probably feels the same way about you,

@tex,
Thanks for taking time to explain, i just wanted to see the full picture. I don't see how i came out as childish but u have a right to your opinion.

From your statement, you were persuaded not FORCED, you could have said NO. I still defend the statement that 200 thugs anywhere will not make me change my mind because unlike you i will be happy to lose my front tooth or even my life for my opinion.

@tayoD,

u know what, im in a good mood today and i can't even be bothered to reply u. But i hope you never do it again.

I REALLY THINK ITS STUPID YOU TWO CAN'T PUT YOUR VIEWS ACROSS WITHOUT BEING RUDE
Politics / Re: Forced To Vote Against His Wish by Leadmyster(m): 4:02pm On Apr 24, 2007
Nice one Tayod,

I may be naive or stupid, but 200 hefty men would not make me change my vote in Lagos

it will never happen, not in my own yard.

PS: I dont like you
Politics / Re: Forced To Vote Against His Wish by Leadmyster(m): 3:53pm On Apr 24, 2007
@tex,

Could you please expantiate on how they forced you to vote, did you not leave your house by yourself?

How were you picked out to be forced to vote cos this never happened even in military days
Romance / Re: Who Calls First? by Leadmyster(m): 3:47pm On Apr 24, 2007

Education / Re: Is It Better To Stay On-Campus Or Off-Campus In UK Universities? by Leadmyster(m): 11:42am On Apr 24, 2007
i would say it depends on your person and age

if ure young (<19),quite conservative and like to focus on academics alone, then stay on Campus

But if ure mature and like to be all round, then stay off campus.

I would stay off -campus if you ask, that way you'll fit into the UK society better and it wont affect your education in any way. You need to quickly brush off the foriegn student image and fit into the community.

Cost of living aint that different, campus accomodation is expensive

Politics / Re: Truck Bomb At INEC Headquarters by Leadmyster(m): 3:00pm On Apr 23, 2007
i kinda agree that all these was a publicity stunt
Bombs are the latest tool to fight opposition these days and Nigeria needs to be in the news for being in touch with latest development, lol

This story is no different from the bird flu story. Im sure that very soon PDP will start claiming that Buhari and Atiku are storing nuclear weapons grin grin
Politics / Re: Truck Bomb At INEC Headquarters by Leadmyster(m): 11:52am On Apr 23, 2007
so Nigeria is now using bombs, this is truly a "do or die" affair, lol
Celebrities / Re: Akon 'Molests' Trinidadian Girl During Performance At Club Zen by Leadmyster(m): 11:45am On Apr 23, 2007
@topic

This issue will probably annoy Americans and Nigerians but its not a big deal for carribeans

Worse than this transpires at my local carribean club or even Notting hill carnival. It was just winning not sex or rape as many are calling it. Akon would not have known her age and is not to blame.

As strict as UK club rules are, 15 yr olds still make their way into Jamo clubs and smoke weed (Metropolitan police knows)
