Travel / Re: General Austria Study/visa( Process And Requirements) by Leandah: 2:14pm On Jul 25, 2023
Thank you Freedomtours.

Please what are the expenses to be expected in order to complete the process? And the 1 week you mentioned, is it for both legalization and authentication?

freedomtours:

1 first of all you need to know the requirements of your school in terms of documents( that will help you to know if your school requires eligibility letter and English Proficiency letter though most schools in Austria request both)
2 That will give you an idea of the documents to legalize at MOE&MOFA
3 you can do it your yourself
4 your relationship can authenticate it on your behalf but you MUST SHAVE THE SAME SURNAME
5 you can finish it up within a week, if you or the person handling share the same surname
6 But if some handle it for you it may take more than a week and will also cost more
7 if you must make sure you know all the required documents you need, including your original transcript and get them ready before coming, because it get why
8 measure you come as early as possible, before 6 am
Because number is given and if you come before 7am you may unlike not get a number
9 Dont forget to make a photocopy of all the documents for authentication.
10 You said you are not comfortable with someone handling your documents thats understandable, but it's all about the level of trust
11 However if you decide to come by yourself, don't worry i will guide you true the whole process when you come.

Just open a domicilliary account with your bank and fund it with foreign currency of your choice.

I know right? grin

Well, UK made financial sense before GBP became 1000 to a Naira. Now you need to have more than N20m for a 1 year masters plus living expenses. I wouldn't have been bothered if they had reliable pathways to citizenship but they keep moving their goal post and increasing fees. And the worse now is that I can't even go with my son. That is not an option for me.

It’s funny the way you said not UK ooo, pls. Why did you say that ? Canada US Australia… except those countries, no any part of Schengen u can go that is better than UK 🇬🇧 Cuz even their citizens goes to UK to work cuz of the exchange rate.

Thank you. I would look into them.

I do not know your financial strength but thank u ruled out UK. It is not a place to start with your kids. Look at Sweden, Australia, Finland. Their economy is stable, free education for your child , almost zero crime free countries. I pray God guide and see you through.

Can you suggest any EU country that allows students come in with dependants?

Thanks.

CuriousStudent:
Best is via study route

Don't use visa agent. Target eu countries.

Thanks for your input Ayinke.

Canadian EE favours younger and highly educated people which I am not and even at that the wait time in quiet unpredictable, so it won't work for me.

Ayinke93:
Giving yourself the very tight 6 months timeline is a very big recipe for failure in this japa journey. Taking the time even if it's 3 years to do it properly and not run into another world of struggle because of desperation is a better strategy in my opinion. Take your time to research, consider learning French and exploring Canadian express entry. That process alone might take up to 18 months. also, consider learning in demand skills in your country of choice, trust me japa is only sweet when you are not working ridiculous hours doing menial jobs. The rewards of taking these steps far outweighs that you'll get if you desperately escape in 6 months.

Thanks Xammie, I have done that already, but you know the living expenses here has greatly increased so you end up spending so much. Thats why I need to leave now.

Hello Nairalanders,

Please I need people with first hand experience to advice me on the best country that I can legally relocate to in the next 6 months with my son (Not UK pls). I was planning towards December 2024 initially but the situation of things in the country currently has made it become a thing of urgency, before the small savings I have is totally wiped off with forex and inflation rates.

I would really appreciate suggestions/recommendations.

Thank you.
