is it web or stand alone app ?

i want an instance when i press 1 or 2 or 3 from my keyboard an event will occur. actually the code below works well when there is no single control on the form. but once i add a control like button it won't work again. please someone should help.

pls programmers in the house my visual studio.Net 2010 started showing "Not Responding" each time i perform tasks like changing name properties of a combo box control or trying to double click on a form to view code etc. it will hang for like 20 minutes. i have formatted the pc and re-install visual studio .NET 2010.
