Which edition of sql server 2005 are you trying to install.and what version of visual studio.net are you using ? Installing sql server 2005 in window 7 need some rigourous configuration. First , try uninstalling visual studio.net n installing sql server 2005 first. Or you will to install a service pack b4 installing sql server 2005. Let me know the outcome.
