I'M NOT ONE TO PUT OUT THE LIGHT OF A BUDDING IDEA. BUT I CERTAINLY KNOW THAT THERE ARE TWO FACTORS THAT YOU HAVE TO REALLY CONSIDER WITH THIS PET DREAM OF YOURS, TIMING AND LOCATION.

BECAUSE OF THE TIMES WE LIVE IN, THE IDEA OF SETTING UP THIS FULLY EQUIPPED RENTAL OFFICE WILL SMACK OF A TENDENCY TO COMMIT OR PERPETRATE FRAUD (AT LEAST IN LAGOS, AND IN MOST OF THE SOUTH).

HAVING SAID THAT, I THINK YOUR CONCEPT WILL THRIVE WELL IN ABUJA (WHICH IS WHERE THE BIG BUCKS AS FAR AS REAL ESTATES AND PROPERTIES ARE CONCERNED). A LOT OF ENTERPRENEURS (YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE) DAILY THRONG THE CITY WITHOUT AN OPERATIONAL BASE. IF WELL PACKAGED, IT WILL FLY IN THAT CITY.

Its good to hear people stand up for Nigeria in a time when patriotism and patriots are fast on the decline.

However, there is a need to take this anger, zeal, passion (call it what you may) into our daily lives, our communities, place of work and our environment generally and ignite a positive change in the small things (how we talk to people in a lower strata of society, our hygiene standards, matters pertaining to our integrity, moral standards, trustworthiness etc).

Study has shown that less than 7% of a society's population is enough to kickstart a major change (whether attitudinal, policy implementation, etc). Let us be part of the less than 7% change agents.

God bless Nigeria.

What will that spell for planning and policy implementation in the country?
Politics / Re: Niger Delta And Terrorism by Legendary(m): 12:56am On Oct 25, 2007
The niger delta still smacks of abject poverty. That said, their problem is not lack of funds but a willingness by their leaders to judiciously put the funds to use and better the lot of their people. Leaders like Alams, Ibori, Lucky, Anieneh, Clark (to mention a few) have mortgaged the interests of their people over the years. The interesting thing is that the people who should standup to them (the so-called struggle movements) have kept silent because they too are involved in exactly the same trade. If not why on earth will the BAYELSA STATE GOVERNMENT organize a grand reception for an international thief cry and none of those armed groups that have vowed to fight the govt to a standstill until it delivers the much desired development to their people cried foul?? Who are they fooling?

Looking at worldwide trends, i forsee a situation where a trully people oriented armed movement will evolve and start its jugdement with every past niger delta leader. It will look more like the HAMAS and FATAH groups in the Palestine Territory. Even though HAMAS is branded a terrorist organisation, its winning elections in Palestine because its people oriented (they have organised more than 80% of suicide Bombings in Israel but they have a welfare package that takes care of a lot of poor, displaced palestines).

Politics / Re: Nigeria In Top 10 World Economies By 2020? by Legendary(m): 12:32am On Oct 25, 2007
Hey, do you guys know the meaning of "optimism" or what it implies to be optimistic ?
I believe in a prosperous and economically viable Nigeria because to believe otherwise is not only gloomy but a declaration of doom for the next generation (our kids)! ! !

Do you know about the Indian economy? That its the 2nd fastest growing in Asia, a nuclear power, new silicon valley of the world (Bengalore)? That it also has a population of over a billion people, a caste system that breeds discrimination even among indians? In economic circles, India is referred to as "a country developing despite its government."

You sit there and judge your leaders when you probably will do the same or worse if given the chance. Ask yourselves this question,"what activity have you been involved in lately in your community or environment that didn't have a profit undertone?" When last did you sit, think and proffer a workable solution to a need in your environment.

Anyway, study has shown that less than 7% of a society's population is required to kickstart a major change in that society. My guess is that you guys (vigasimple & kobojunkie) are not among the change agents. You are welcome to watch from the sidelines.

The future is in our hands and what we do now, what we're saying now, our perceptions and all add up to give us the future we are moving to!!!

God bless Nigeria.

Education / Irrelevant Courses In Nigerian Universities by Legendary(m): 2:02am On Sep 13, 2007
There are some that will argue that a lot of Nigerian universities are not moving with the times and therefore retain not only obsolete curriculum but obsolete and irrelevant courses. People then spend 4yrs plus studying a course and giving it their best only for the reality to hit them after graduation - that they don't fit into the scheme of the job terrain in Naija.
What are those courses offered in your school or alma mater that you think is irrelevant or obsolete? grin
Religion / Which Came First: The Chicken Or The Egg? by Legendary(m): 1:16am On Sep 13, 2007
Order, or the ability to keep it is what most historians tie the earth's continual existence to. So in the order of creation (or appearance as you may wish to call it), which do you think came first: the Chicken or the Egg? grin
Hey, think  b/4 you answer this
Religion / Is Mercy Killing Ok? by Legendary(m): 1:02am On Sep 13, 2007
Euthanasia, the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable disease or in an irreversible coma. Most religions hold the view that God alone has the sole rights over a man's life. So is euthanasia aka mercy killing ok? Where is the place of miracles? At what point is the disease declared incurable or the coma irreversible?

So what's there to celebrate You either don' stay in Lagos or you've chosen to be ignorant. There are real issues begging to be trashed and the Governor has threathened to fine his cabinet members who come late for their meeting . Afterall they still move around with escorts that clear traffic for them. If the Governor wants to really implement a shift from status quo, he should let his executive council members ride in Lagos go-slows and holdups. That will produce any of the 2 scenarios
1)  after paying the fine of #20,000 a couple of times, they'll be forced to find a lasting solution to the bottle necks lagosians endure everyday;
2) after paying the fine of #20,000 a couple of times, they'll be forced to stay in their offices and get more work done.

Politics / Re: Human Trafficking: Two Bus Loads Of 121 Suspects Intercepted . by Legendary(m): 11:28pm On Sep 12, 2007
Hey no one should pay the ethnic card on this issue. There's this place in Sagamu where scores of young people ( age 8-21yrs brought in lorries from the south-south especially from Cross River) are dumped. People then come in from different parts of the south west (Lagos in paticular) and inspect them before taking the visibly healthy ones back home. The contractual period of slavery is usually on a yearly basis. The facilitators stop feeding their wards between 3-5 days after they've arrived in Sagamu. Therefore the kids virtually beg the prospective labour masters to buy them for fear of starvation. The females among them give cheap sex to the locals and their facilitators to keep from starving pending the time they are taken (into slavery). Their facilitators get about 60%-70% of their wages.
Now here's a question:
i) why are the locals keeping silent;
ii) who is the guilty party : the facilitators or the eventual labour masters.
All this is Nigerian inhumanity to fellow Nigerians.

N.B :- Don't know if the place still exists. It's been 4yrs now.
