After successfully entering the building, she chats to Eric, the two have sex. But Darcy catches them in the act. Darcy confronts Jenna as she asked her to stay away from Eric to which Jenna responds that she and Eric fell in love. Darcy immediately fires Jenna and asks her to leave.

After months apart, Jenna and Eric reunite for dinner. While Eric thinks they're just catching up after being out of contact due to the incident with his mom, Jenna actually called to tell him she is pregnant. He's initially upset and confused but later accepted. His mom Darcy later visits Jenna, and plead they stop the animosity between them, seeing as they’re now family. She confesses that Eric didn’t know much about his father but wants to ensure his son to know everything about his child.

Happily, they go to the hospital to attend her appointment, where they find out they’re having a baby boy together, which Jenna decides to name after Eric’s father.

Four persons have been killed after gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr David Misal, confirmed the figure to Channels Television on Sunday.
He explained that the armed men came in through the outskirt Takum town and started shooting sporadically at people.
The assailants, according to Misal, were however repelled by operatives of the State Police Command and other security agencies on the ground.
He added that after engaging the gunmen, the police combed the area and found the bodies of four persons.
The Command’s spokesman said three of the bodies discovered were believed to be bandits while the fourth person was a resident said to have been hit by stray bullets.
He disclosed that the assailants made attempts to burn down houses, but were repelled by combined forces of security agencies.
Misal noted that the remains of the bandits and Takum resident have been deposited at the mortuary of the Takum General Hospital.
He gave assurance that the situation has been brought under control as security agencies have been deployed to the area to protect lives and property.

The spokesman for the Senate, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, has reacted to the controversial N5.5 billion purportedly earmarked for the purchase of cars for members of the Red Chamber.

Senator Adeyeye, who spoke via the phone during Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, stated that the said amount would only be legal if budgeted by the National Assembly for such purpose.

He, however, dismissed the reports, stressing that he has yet to hear about the plan to purchase vehicles for the lawmakers with such a huge amount.

Senator Adeyeye said, “It is an exercise in futility; a complete exercise in futility. Even I as a Senator have not heard anything about that.

“So why will people be relying on rumour and newspaper reports? I wouldn’t know and in any case, if the Senate is going to spend that (amount); if it is budgeted for, then it means it is purely legal.”

The Senate spokesman explained that every new administration budgets vehicles for public office holders.

He, however, regretted why there would be a public outcry against the development, noting that it’s a norm for the three tiers of government.

“So why will the National Assembly be different? Why are they focusing on the National Assembly and not looking at the Executive, Judiciary arms of government?” he questioned.

The lawmaker added, “All of these people are entitled to official cars and do use official cars. Directors of agencies, even minor officials in agencies use official cars. So why will the National Assembly be different? Why should it be a problem that the National Assembly is entitled to cars, to use official cars?”

He decried that the purchase of cars for senators was viewed from the negative side, saying he cannot imagine himself in a vehicle used by a former member.

Senator Adeyeye also said some of the vehicles that were bought four years ago were no longer serviceable while others have probably been sold to their users.

He, therefore, warned those he described as mischief makers to desist from attempting to destroy the National Assembly, saying doing so would amount to destroying the nation’s democratic process.

The presidency has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is not indifferent to the killing of policemen by soldiers in Taraba State.

This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

In his statement on Monday, Garba Shehu said Nigerians must be patient with Buhari, noting that the President will take action after the panel set up by Chief of Defence Chief, General Gabriel Olonisakin, has submitted its report following their investigation.

Garba Shehu who made the statement in response to press questions, confirmed that a committee was set up during the National Security Council meeting to investigate the killing of three policemen and a civilian by soldiers in Taraba State.

The President’s aide state that the insinuation of indifference on the part of President Muhammadu Buhari is untenable.

He said, “Contrary to those mischievous insinuations, President Buhari had ordered the Chief of Defence Staff to set up an investigation committee with representatives from all the security organizations in the country, including the police force.

“The President is not indifferent to the unfortunate incident, and would take decisive action as soon as the report of the panel is submitted to him. He is following due process and procedure.

“Putting the cart before the horse is not President Buhari’s way of doing things. Nigerians should show patience while the President awaits the report of the panel from the Chief of Defence Staff.

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member and a political analyst, Ken Okolugbo, has faulted the All Progressives Congress (APC) over its style of governance.

Appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Okolugbo said the ruling party should admit that Nigerians are hungry.

“I can’t condemn entirely everything that President Muhammadu Buhari has done. I have said it and I have tried to always be objective.

“But Igbokwe must admit that we are hungry. Nigerians are hungry. The economy is bad. We need to move to a next level (of economic prosperity),” he said.

While comparing the previous PDP administration with the current APC, Okolugbo admitted that his party’s government wasn’t so perfect.

He recalled that the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, apologised to the masses following some inconsistencies that characterised their previous administration.

Despite that, however, he maintained that his party performed better in office than the current administration.

“I am not saying we had a perfect government, let us stop that blame game. We have passed that era of the blame game.

“We have always said it that PDP’s government isn’t perfect. In fact, Secondus apologised to Nigerians. For somebody to apologise, does that not tell you that we didn’t do well in a lot of areas?

“But we are looking at it. When you marry two wives, you compare the two wives. You have married the PDP, now you are married to the APC. Now Nigerians can see for themselves. We did better than what we are currently seeing,” he said,

But reacting, APC Publicity Secretary in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, criticised the PDP for wasting the nation’s resources within its 16 years of power.

“You (PDP) were there for 16 years and we didn’t see anything. In the midst of plenty, I cannot lay my hands on anything,” he said.

Although Igbokwe admitted the nation is faced with myriads of challenges, he, however, said they cannot be fixed in a single day.

According to him, previous presidents have dealt with several challenges facing Nigeria, even as the country grapples with population growth.

“If the President can solve all the problems of Nigeria in one day, they would have done it in the 60s. It’s a continuum.

“As the population is growing, the problem will continue to grow. As Nigeria is growing, the problem will continue to grow. So problems will never disappear from the face of the earth,” he said.

Police arrested a 33-year-old man who allegedly attacked randomly in a span of two hours in the neighboring cities of Garden Grove and Santa Ana.

The suspect's motive appears to be anger and hate, Garden Grove Police, Lt. Carl Whitney, said at a press conference. .

The Benue State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Terna Taga accused of raping and impregnating a 10-year-old girl.

The child was delivered of a baby girl through caesarean section by a team of doctors after some humanitarian workers raised the alarm on social media and admitted her to the hospital after three days of protracted labour.

While parading the suspect on Thursday, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Mukaddas said 15 others were also arrested for various criminal activities bordering on gun manufacturing, armed robbery and kidnapping.

“One 10-year-old girl (name withheld) who is an orphan living with her uncle was allegedly raped by one Terna Taga, 18 years old of North Bank, Makurdi.

“The victim became pregnant and has been delivered of a baby girl. Investigations reveal that the uncle was making arrangement, having known her condition to marry her out to an old blind man, when he discovered that she is pregnant,” he said.

The police boss who stressed that the girl’s uncle is on the run, said that the suspect will be arraigned in court.

Speaking on efforts made in fighting crimes in the state, the CP explained that the Command received a distress call from residents of Otukpo on August 5 that some robbers were terrorising the community.

According to him, police personnel were immediately drafted to the area who succeeded in making some arrest.

“Officers were deployed to the scene where one Ahmad Yusuf Ali (Male) was arrested with a locally made pistol and charms.

“His other gun members are still at large and efforts are being made to arrest them. Investigation is equally in progress,” he said.

Egyptian security forces killed 17 “terrorists” on Thursday during an operation against suspects in last weekend’s deadly car blast in Cairo that claimed some 20 lives.

The interior ministry said the 17 killed belonged to the Hasm group, an armed affiliate of the banned Muslim Brotherhood.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi has called the collision between several vehicles in Cairo a “terrorist act” as one of the cars was loaded with explosives.

The collision happened just before midnight Sunday, when a speeding car packed with explosives drove against the traffic and crashed into three other vehicles outside the National Cancer Institute in the Egyptian capital.

According to the health ministry, at least 20 people were killed in the collision.

The Hasm group was “behind the preparations of the vehicle” that caused the explosion, the interior ministry said in a statement.

It added that it had identified the suicide driver of the vehicle as a member of Hasm.

Security forces were able to “locate members of a Hasm cell” and killed 17 of them, including the brother of the suicide car bomber, during operations in Cairo and in Faiyum, south of the capital, the ministry said.

It was not immediatedly clear if the Hasm cell and the 17 people were directly involved in Sunday’s deadly collision.

Since 2016 the Hasm group has claimed responsibility for several attacks against police, officials and judges in Cairo.

Daniel Dino Melaye was born in Kano State, Nigeria. He attended command and Air-force Secondary School, Kaduna for his secondary school education. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he studied geography in 2000. He led the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and later became the Secretary General of African Youth Council and then that of the Commonwealth Youth Council.He was appointed by President Olusegun Obasanjo to chair the Presidential Advisory Council on Youths.


Political life
Melaye is a member In the House of Representatives. In the 2015 Senatorial election he was elected a member of the Senate of Nigeria from the Kogi-West.

He seconded the nomination of Senator Bukola Saraki as candidate for the office of President of the Senate following a nomination made by Senator Ahmad Sani Yerima. He was re-elected on 19 February 2019 to return as senator representing kogi-West senatorial district to be a member of the 9th Senate.

EFCC Nabs Zamfara District Head, Two Others for Diverting Government Fertilizer, Herbicide

Operatives of the Sokoto Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested the Chairman of Rice Farmers’ Association of Nigeria, RIFAN, Gummi Local Government Chapter, Ibrahim Rijiya; the Council Storekeeper, Aminu Musa and Abdullahi Bashir for their alleged involvement in the criminal diversion of three trailer loads of 1,800 bags of fertilizer, and a truck-load of farming herbicide belonging to rice farmers in Gummi.

Rijiya, who is also the District Head of Rijiya Gummi, Gummi LGA, Zamfara State, is also alleged to have diverted three trailers loaded with fertilizer and other supplies for their local farmers, and later sold each bag at the sum of N3,000 including other farm materials.

The EFCC had received a petition from representatives of seven different groups of rice farmers, alleging that sometimes in July 2018, the Federal Government approved and disbursed 12 trucks of fertilizer and herbicides, on loan to 83 cooperative groups in Gummi and that no member of the association fully collected all the items as approved by the government.

All efforts made by the Gummi Chapter of RIFAN to get the items back, proved abortive.

Investigation revealed that Rijiya conspired with Musa to divert and sell the three trailers of fertilizer and a truck load of herbicide to Bashir at the cost of N17.1million and shared the money among themselves.

The suspects confessed to their roles in the crime, while the three trailers of the fertilizer have been recovered from them. Efforts are in top-gear to recover the diverted herbicide.

They will soon be arraigned in court.

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has vowed to assist the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON, to recover monies going into trillions of Naira being owed it by businessmen, women and companies.

“We are ready to work with you, we will render assistance in terms of enforcement, in order to recover these loans, because they are affecting the economy of the country from flourishing,” he said.

Magu made the declaration while receiving a delegation from AMCON, led by its Chairman, Muiz Banire, SAN, and its Managing Director, Ahmed Kuru, who came on a familiarization visit to the EFCC Headquarters, Jabi, Abuja on August 6, 2019.

Expressing the resolve of the anti-graft agency in ensuring the recovery of the monies, Magu further called for collaboration and a re-evaluation of the modus operandi of the Corporation.

“In order to recover these loans, there is need for inter-agency collaboration, going beyond the EFCC to the police, the court, Central Bank of Nigeria, NDIC, because there is need for AMCON to re-strategize and block loopholes,” he said.

Banire, who revealed that the total loan today stood in excess of N5trillion, noted that “this is the money that belongs to all Nigerians, if N5trillion can be injected into our economy in Nigeria, particularly infrastructure, hospitals will change, education will change, the road we use will change and definitely everything will change positively”.

While commending the readiness of the Commission to assist the Corporation, he acknowledged the “giant strides the EFCC has accomplished in the recent past, not just in the number of convictions, but even from the exposure and calmness in taming the extravagant lifestyle of people stealing” public funds.

He also used the opportunity to highlight the efforts of AMCON in debt recovery, dating back to its creating to “absorb most of the loans during the time that the banks were collapsing, in order to strengthen the banks”.

Policemen attached to the Imo State Command of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad has arrested a 60-year-old man, Onyekwere Umunna, for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl (name withheld).

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, in a statement on Wednesday said that the suspect had confessed to the crime.

The statement said that the suspect was arrested by the operatives of the SARS in Akokwa in the Ideato North Local Government Area of the state

The suspect, the statement said hails from Achara in the Obowo LGA of the state while the girl he defiled is a native of Ndiakaemeuno Arondizuogu in the Ideato North LGA.

The police spokesperson said that the suspect would be prosecuted at the conclusion of the investigation.

The statement read, “On August 6, 2019, at about 5:45pm, operatives of the Special Anti -Robbery Squad, Akokwa annex, while responding to a distress call arrested one Onyekwere Umunna, a 60-year-old man, of Achara, in Obowo LGA, who was alleged to have defiled one Sopuruchi Emenugha, a 7-year-old girl, of Ndiakaemeuno Arondizuogu in Ideato North LGA.

“The suspect has however confessed to the crime, while the victim has been taken hospital for medical examination and treatment.”

Our correspondent gathered that the suspect had been transferred to the command headquarters in Owerri for the continuation of the investigation and possible prosecution.

Presidential candidates and aspirants of some political parties that participated in the 2019 general elections and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council have called for the unconditional release of the Presidential candidate of African Action Congress, Mr Omoyele Sowore.

The candidates and aspirants under the aegis of ‘Third Force’ made this call via a statement signed by seven of them on Tuesday.

The statement, which circulated via electronic mail, said President Muhammadu Buhari should be reminded that the Nigerian constitution did not allow violation of human rights.

Those whose names were written in the release are Tope Fasua, 2019 presidential candidate, Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party; Okey Samuel Mbonu, Labour Party; SKC Ogbonnia, All Progressives Congress presidential aspirant and Thomas-Wilson Ikubese of the Alliance for New Nigeria.

Others are Emmanuel Etim, Change Nigeria Party; Ayodele O. Favour, Young Progressives Party; and Clement Jimbo, Social Democratic Party.

The statement said, “We, the Coalition of former 2019 Presidential Aspirants and Candidates, under the aegis of Third Force Forum, hereby demand the unconditional release of one of our compatriot, Mr Omoyele Sowore, who was arrested by an agency of the government on August 2, 2019, pursuant to plans for a protest march across Nigeria; which is within his full constitutional rights.”

Also, the leadership of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council has said Sowore’s arrest is capable of causing national unrest.

The President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, stated this in a statement in Abakaliki on Tuesday.

The group noted that contrary to what the DSS had in mind by arresting the political activist, his continued detention was rather turning him into an international figure.

The late minister was coming back from Abuja with his better half and his child, on Sunday evening, when the hijackers constrained their vehicle to stop along Kaduna-Abuja parkway.

400-level UI student slumps, dies after writing test .

Victor Ajidagba, a 400-Level student of the Department of Nursing, University of Ibadan, slumped and died shortly after writing a test on Wednesday. .

Ajidagba was rushed to the University Clinic, known as Jaja Clinic, but all attempts to resuscitate and stabilise him was unsuccessful.

According to students who witnessed the incident, the medical officers on duty fought hard to save his life by administering first-aid treatment but had to refer him to the University College Hospital (UCH), Oritamefa, Ibadan, when they discovered the severity of the case.

first class student stabbed to death over N200

Mba Chuks Stephen, a Public Administration and Local Government student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has died after being stabbed.

According to reports, the first class student who had just four weeks to graduation, was stabbed, this morning, over an issue involving N200 and later died.

The Nigeria Police have arrested two suspected fraudsters who impersonated officials of the Nigeria Customs Service auctioneers on Facebook and other social media sites.

The police also warned members of the public to be wary of fraudsters who pretend to be officials from the Customs auction Department or agent, as they use it to swindle unsuspecting victims.

Already, Saturday and Amos had defrauded a businessman, Adeniyi Adegboyega, of N4.3million in a phony car auctioning deal, before they were arrested in Ewan, Edo State. .

Adegboyega, a Lagos based businessman, said he met them on Facebook and they made him believe that they were genuine custom officials on auction exercise but ended up defrauding him of his hard-earned money.
