Good day my people, I rejoice with you in this new month of November. I wish you Accident-free month!

Here we are again this week, still on the journey of learning 'ACCIDENT'.Last time we discussed 'Potential Accidents in a workplace'. This week it's basically preventive measures for workplace accidents. Note that below preventive measures are just tips of the iceberg from what I've learnt so far on how to prevent accident in a workplace. But it's pertinent to take note of these Ten ways to prevent accidents in a workplace;
1. Education&Training: Employees must be provided with Safety training, forget the fact that they obtained safety certification before employment. They must be retrained, do not forget to educate them on potential hazards at work too.
2. Utilize PPE: Fine you've been trained and educated but the first action against accident in your workplace is to wear your full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Examples are; Longsleeve-lightweight shirts, widebrim hard hats, gloves, goggles, coveralls, Safety boots etc.
3. Maintain a clean and safe environment; Debris must not be around walkway, floor as it may cause slip and fall.
4.Follow instruction while using equipment; Each equipment you're using has the way and how to use it. Do not guess, do not take shortcut.
5.Carry out Risk Assessments before embarking on a project. It helps identifying potential risks and how not to fall victims.
6. Do not enter a confine place without work permit; Enter a confine place only if you have a permit to work there, don't risk it.
7.Employee should immediately communicate any risk situation they notice; This would help in or preventing any potential accidents. Don't keep silent,if you see something, say something!
8.Proper maintenance of equipment and tools;Take note of corrosion and obsolete equipment, do the necessary things to replace them or oil those that require oiling.
9.Illumination: Ensure your workplace is bright, put on good white bulb everywhere and turn it on when necessary, do not agree to work in a dark place or in a slightly dark area.
10. Strict enforcement and timely review of HSE laws. This is important, Management must ensure this is timely done.
Accident can be prevented once we are committed to a safe workplace.
SAFETY ONLY!
HAVE A GOOD DAY.

Hey Family,

It’s good to be back here this week. In the meantime I would love to haul out from my learning experience on ACCIDENT so far.
Consequently, I actually deem it fit to intimate you about potential accident in a workplace as you’d agree with me that potential accidents can be spotted and prevented if extra care is taken. Below are (but not limited to) eight potential accidents in a workplace;

1.Lack of Standard Heath Safety and Environment (HSE) regulations in a firm is a potential accident on its own.
2.Availability of HSE regulations but poor or no strict enforcement is a potential accident.
3.Lack of complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
4.No reasonable sanction for breaching safety rubrics, it is a potential accident.
5.Incomplete rig assessment: when assessment is being carried out, it must be completely done without ostracising any process.
6.Not to be safety conscious is a potential accident as well.
7.When the vision and mission of an organization do not incorporate safety, this is equally a potential accident. This is where safety begins.
8.And when the Management decline to lead by example by not wearing PPE, It's a potential accident for all employees.

NOTE; it takes collective efforts to have a safe working environment.
Have a week full of safety

Safety first, safety always!
This statement appear very light but it has an hefty translation.

By Safety we mean well-being, protection, security, welfare. Safety means protection from any form of harm, injury danger, and risk.

Who needs Safety?
You and I including our environment, workplaces, worship places, Market places, Transportation and every other places need to be protected from being hurt and harmed .

How can we be saved?
For us to be saved, we must do safety. That is, we must impress the safety culture and habit in our minds

Nobody should feel loathsome to safety rules and regulations,
Nobody should take safety with flippancy.
There should be a very strict enforcement of safety rules, regulations and policies. You need safety, i need safety.
No one can be confidently be proud of being dispense with SAFETY in the whole world.
If we can keep to the word 'SAFETY' both we and our environments would be saved.

Let's do safety always, let's continue to practice safety.
