In 2015, When this exercise was held for Lagos state primary teachers, I know two of my friends that got the job on merit without knowing any politician or external influence. Just do the test well, do your best in Essay writing and Micro teaching too. Since your Background is from Education, you are qualified and with Prayers Luck may be for you. Non Indigenes are also recruited into the service too. Some of them are chosen and Absorbed.
On Payment, as far as I'm concerned Lagos state is the only state that pays teachers well. The salary structure is okay at 40+ and 50+ for both NCE and Degree Holders respectively for the start. Don't kill yourself if you didn't make the list, there are people who flourish well in the private sector too. Best of luck to us all.
