One bad thing in business is ignoring your customers.
I saw a lot of angst from users of chinoxsl services regarding the recent excessive delays in clearing goods at MMIA Customs.
In spite of all that chinosxl has not deemed it fit to come online and apologize or explain or try to calm nerves. That's despite some people threatening to discontinue patronage.
I didnt have anything on the 13th of April shipment, but I had a worse experience back in Feb/March that caused me pains.
I am addressing this issue not to "spoil show" for chinos, but to encourage him to sustain the business for all our sake's.

During my own ordeal, I went the extra length of meeting chinos' clearing agent in person, and also talking to other agents there.
I am convinced that, despite the new customs regime at MMIA, clearing don't have to take more that 3 - 4 working days.
When it was suggested to chinos that he should try some other agents, he was adamant.

There are other faster services like mikky's, but those are "informal" like, and therefore less secure.
Chinos, address this matter, and, equally importantly, address us!

Brand new torque wrench 25k. 19,17, 22. Sockets 1k each.

I don't see the point in buying a torque wrench if its just for bolting and unbolting wheels.

Totally agree.
You got to be doing some serious DIY to bother with that.
I borrow when I need one.
Anyways, I have spotted some good wrenches at Ladipo parts market a couple of times, and their prices wont run into 5 figures.

There's no way they can prove that the oil will or will not work for the purpose it was intended. That's why it's caled "faith based", there's no proof for it.

That the woman decided to pay that much out of her own volition and conviction on the efficacy of the oil na her own palaver. I doubt that there's any church not involved in this kind of hustle. They should go down too with these men.

There are things one should not wait for FG before it's done. Successive State Governors of Anambra and Enugu had come and gone without prioritizing that road. If were the Governor, I will not hesitate to fix that road because of its importance, little by little, maybe do it in 3 sections over 2-3 years. And use our good relationship with the President to get a refund which is within his fiat on the Ministry of Works budget use

Which good relationship are you referring to?
You mean the one he has with his comrade, kleptomaniac, selfish, few Ibos in the corridors of power?

Show us proof that it was APC who asked the media to publish the picture and claim that it was taken in London.
It was the media doing their bungling, and later correcting themselves.

APC does not need to do anything to convince anyone that Buhari is in London. Because, he IS in London.

We are Still trying to get feb 16th out hopefully by tonight or tomorrow they will be out. Work has been slow at customs due to agents restriction from comptroller recent visit.

Chinos, you might consider changing your clearing agent, because I am familiar with another forwarder whose shipments clear customs within 24 hrs, consistently. For example, his last flight left US 19th, arrived 20th, and by Sat 21st evening, people were getting their items.
I will not mention names here for obvious reasons, but a little research in this forum will reveal all.
One week to clear customs is just too much.

[i]We must offer Nigerians clarity on the choices before them. Can I propose a three-way debate with you (representing PDP/Federal Government), nominee of APC (Utomi or Fayemi? or any other), and myself (as independent citizen— I don’t belong to any of the two). Let us have two bouts of debate between now and 12th February, 2015 focusing on: CBN/AMCON and the financial system (if you want); our economy and its outlook, and agenda/alternative paths to sustainable prosperity post elections. Choose the dates and times, and for the sake of Nigeria, I will fly in. You can invite any of your international media friends as moderators.

This is the kind of public debates you see on tv everyday in civilized societies, and that is how they make progress.
But in Nigeria all we see is stup1d propaganda, mudslinging and annoying obfuscation.

Phones / Re: Phone Engineers On Nairaland Willing To Assist You - Part II by LeSaint(m): 3:11pm On Jan 31, 2015
Hey, guys, PLEEASE HELP me! MY PHONE SEEMS TO BE BRICKED!!!

My mainstay, Galaxy S3 I9300, has been acting up since yesterday.

I just tried to turn off the screen after a call, and it went into what appears to be restart mode, but then didn't restart nor turn off; it flashes the vendor logo, "Samsung GALAXY SIII GT-I9300", like 5 sec On, 3 sec Off!

It has been in this condition since then, heating up and draining battery fast (when I plug it in, the flashing logo is replaced by the battery meter). Power button is inactive (except when used for Recovery step - see below)

Now let me give u details about my phone (I am not a phone techie, but I am above-average computer user):

S3 Rooted on stock ROM, I think ver. 4.2.2, or 4.2.3. Not sure I have CWM.
I have Avast Premium Anti-Theft fully deployed.

Now, I have tried unsuccessfully to enter Recovery mode, so that I can re-flash it. Using Vol-Down, it shows the green screen briefly, but wont continue to enter the download mode as the Vol-Up button becomes inactive at that moment. Using Vol-Up, it flashes a tiny-lettered menu for only half a sec, and wont allow any action from there either.
I don't know anything else to do now.

I have tried some googling, and they say hard-bricking is very rare, and happen invariably thru tampering.
But I just finished making a call FCS!

So, gurus in the House, is this my case a lost cause or is there a way out?

Summary: NOT BOOTING BEYOND LOGO, WONT ENTER RECOVERY MODE. PERPETUALLY TRYING TO REBOOT

Thanks for any help.

ps: my Avast is set-up to prevent usb-debug, and recovery, but that is in the OS, or isn't it?

In a just society, this kind of deceptive marketing strategy should attract severe sanctions.
Imagine my disappointment when I walked into a GoTv rep at Computer village and they told me I was wrong about the advertised price. That the package was N2,900 and one-month sub N1,500.
I then told the guy that came to N4,400, not N4,500, and he rudely said "take it or leave".
If it wasn't Christmas eve and if I hadn't promised my kids, I would have left.
On my way home, I searched the web on my mobile, and still saw it clearly, whole package + 1 month GoTv plus sub, for N2900.
This morning, I got a call from GoTv and the lady was still trying to convince me that the advert said GoTv decoder only for N2900.
We are in a country where anything goes; the govt is inflicting and exploiting on its citizens, the corporates are inflicting and exploiting on the populace, and there is no advocacy for the common man.
