Scrum is a framework that helps teams solve complex problems. Some examples of complex problems are product management, policy making, governance, communication, and branding, among many others.

The Basics of Scrum
Teams that work using the Scrum Framework break down a project into small, manageable chunks of work called "sprints." A sprint typically lasts between 1-4 weeks, and within that sprint, the team endeavours to complete the selected set of tasks with the hope that the customer is invited to inspect the completed work at the end of the sprint.

There are four events in Scrum: Scrum events are working sessions where the Scrum Team members collaborate and inspect progress towards their goals. In some of these Scrum Events, the scrum team invites the customers to collaborate with them on progress toward the overall product to be delivered.

At the beginning of each sprint, the team holds a sprint planning event where they define the work they will complete during the sprint. The team then works on the tasks assigned to them during the sprint, with daily events held to track progress and identify any potential roadblocks.

At the end of each sprint, the team holds a sprint review event where they demonstrate the completed work to stakeholders and receive feedback. In addition, the team holds a retrospective event where they discuss what went well during the sprint, what could be improved, and how they can implement these improvements in future sprints.

Accountabilities in Scrum
The Scrum Framework identifies three accountabilities for an effective team: the Product Owner, the Scrum Master, and the Development Team.

The Product Owner is responsible for managing the product backlog, which is an ordered list of requirements that might help achieve the product goal. The Product Owner collaborates with stakeholders to understand requirements and decide the order in which the requirement might be delivered.
The Scrum Master is accountable for ensuring that the Scrum framework is understood and helps the team improve. The Scrum Master helps every member of the team embody the Scrum Values - Commitment, Courage, Openness, Respect and Focus.
The Developers are responsible for completing the requirements selected in the Sprint Planning events.

I need some advise; I have property where there has recently been an electricity surge and the pumping machine for the borehole was damaged. Hence I have been told that we need to re-cool it. I have been given the following quote:

Recoiling of the machine
18,000
Control box 6,000
Cable 18,000
Labour 10,000
Total. 52,000.

Also I was told I needed to install a timer switch next for the borehole so that we would have another incident where the borehole was left on and a power surge cause damage.

Borehole Timer costed at 25,000

Then, we have to earthen the property as it was reported that the taps seems to have some current in them.

1. Industrial salt he said he needed 2 pack which is 10,000. Should we manage 1 which is 5,000. As required the two is 10,000
2. Two earth rod 20,000.
3. 1/2 coil of 16mm coper wire 25,000
4. Bore hole complete timer. 25,000
5. Workmanship 20,000

I having thought about how this would work in details but i could make contractors / people offering a service pay a fee. This could also help filter out bad people but people that are genuine and serious about their craft would pay as it is some form of advertisement for them.

There are other services that could be built around this platform to make it a one stop for people like myself that have been badly burnt in the past.

Why i really don't take this issue of bad contractors seriously on NL is because the few good ones we have aren't even getting jobs as it ought to be...So who is now awarding contracts to the bad ones? We have good contractors like Abdulwastecx & podosci, dubemcapital, spyder, aventures, skimanski, koloshangone...etc they are many, u don't need to spend months on NL to single them...If the good ones to me doesn't seem to be getting more than enough contracts, were do even the bad ones get contracts from? Everyone will begin to scream brabus...even among the 12 disciples....there was Judas...

My experience is that even the good ones, sometime would be so busy and they keep on taking on more work which means there is a high chance of inadequate supervision. I have experienced this before. In our immediate env (Nigeria), the moment you take your eyes off work being done, you see corners being cut and by the time you (client) realises its too late to do remediation.

I am yet to meet a builder, that would say i am too busy for the next few months, hence i cannot take on any more work.

In my experience, I have seen reputable and well recommended contractors perform poorly because of the high level of trust that resulted in minimal checks and balance on them.

And I have seen an equal number of competent but dubious, heartless contractors perform remarkably due to adequate supervision and an open promise of more contracts

One the other issue i find, how do you get reports from your builder especially for those in diaspora; imagine a platform where you can attached proof or purchases, building plans, pictures of completed work. You can also submit this for review by other people.

One thing i struggle with is how to get reputable people, people whose previous work can speak for them.
