My brother, the king is not mature at all. I even heard that notable sons and daughters of Itsekiri's kingdom staged a walk out on him immediatelly after the pronouncement was made public including Papa Ayo.
You are mad to say your father is not matured.
May maturity elude your family

I'm Yoruba. In time past, even Kings have those that put them in checks to avoid misuse of power.
We force Kings to commit suicide if they commit great atrocities.
Kings should be wise, we were meant to believe.
Giving someone title to another just because he tried to stop your ascension to the throne is not a wise decision. It's what average people would do, and Kings are not supposed to act in predictable manners. Whatever happens to drawing your enemies closer than your friends.
If you have followed our tradition very well you will find out majority of the Itsekiri's never wanted Ayiri as Ologbotsere and one major voice was that of Chief Rita Lori. The late King still went ahead and Itsekiri's accepted it because no one can question the king, after the king's demise Ayiri tried playing God and if not handled seriously it may cause serious unrest in the kingdom. The king gave him ample time to turn a new leaf but he refused and even ridiculed and questioned the legitimacy of the King, in all the King was patient. The time for revalidation came and he refused to turn up, the king didn't give out the position but suspended him just to see if he will revert back to his senses but he refused. The Ooni of Ife visited him on this same issue and he was adamant, the Oba of Benin called him to a meeting regarding this same issue and he still wouldn't bend. So the King was very right in taking the step he took and the king even offered him his original title,the one he inherited from his father which he refused.
Now back to the Ologbotsere title, this is the highest title in the land after the King. In the absence of the Ologbotsere the Iyatsere takes up the position of the Ologbotsere now do you think the families of the Ologbotsere will be happy that their family is been shortchanged because one of their sons has gone rogue, if you were the elders of the Ologbotsere family what will you do.

No Cap, he walked out on the king too because he was expecting the king to give him ologbotsere title but rather the king gave him his father's title, Ayiri got up in anger and left. It was at that moment the king gave chief Eyewuoma the ologbotsere title
If you were the King will you give him back the Ologbotsere title. Think wisely

There are better ways to deal with a troublesome person like this, not by giving his title to someone else.
There are some traditional titles that the will never be transferred to another person unless the holder is dead. If the holder commits an unforgivable offence, it's either he's banished or forced to commit suicide. If you can't do any of such, you have to let him be. No be everybody go agree with you on everything.
I don't know where you are from but as an Itsekiri no one is on the same level with the king. All are servants to the throne and the king does as it pleases him.
The king's titles include
Áfomasin=He who speaks and doesn't go back
Ogiame=Lord of the water
Afotse=He who says and does

This man called Ayiri Emami doesn't know that a king is the authority and all forms of mores, norms and legality originate and evolve from the king. He doesn't have good advisers. All those beads and paraphernalia he claimed are original amount to nothing now. It has no value again because their intrinsiveness has been lost already without royal baseness.
He should have on that spot when he was asked to submit them knelt and begged for forgiveness with remorse, and appeal to primordial emotion of the king saying: King should not reject His own child for withdrawing the title from him( Amami) amount to his( Amami) own father disowning him.
What you advised is true but he was proud and the king could have just installed another Ologbotsere in his absence but the King wanted him to be present. As a chief you must submit your beads to the King for revalidation and after collecting your beads if the king decides not to return it to you that day you stop being a chief and there is no two ways about it but if you have done well your beads and sword will be returned to you which calls for big celebration. One of the biggest disgrace to a chief is to have his beads not returned to him, the King offered him his father's title so as to remove shame from his eyes but his pride wouldn't allow him. The end of a one time great man. It's painful what pride and greed can do to a man.

He may have a good case going by his own account of what I read up there about the beads being inheritance of his father. But what do I know in traditional matters. 🤔
He has no case, he is just misguided.
His father was a chief and he was given his father's title. The late Olu elevated him to the position of Ologbotsere which he shouldn't have in the first place. At the demise of the Olu he Ayiri was playing God going contrary to the will of the people and even the ruling family because he was the Ologbotsere and sees himself as the highest authority in the absence of the king and as such he wanted to install another prince as the king and when it backfired he started throwing tantrums. Ask Ayiri if the beads he is talking about was the one used by the last Ologbotsere before him. The King was magnanimous enough to even offer him his father's title which was the chieftaincy title he was originally given but he declined because his pride is bigger than the kingdom itself. My greatest joy is that he declined that offer cos he can never be trusted and so shouldn't be in the circle of the King.

There is no other authority bigger than that of the King in Warri Kingdom

This is a response to those who said Mr Ayiri is still the ologbotsere and won’t agree or submit.

In Warri kingdom, to be conferred with a chieftaincy title, is a very rare privilege. The honour and pride of being chosen by an Olu for chieftaincy title can not be expressed in words. There are various individual qualities that one must possess before he/she can become a chief in the ancient kingdom. The most important quality is credibility and patriotism of the individual for the development of the tribe. Those who are found worthy usually pass through many vigorous traditional screening processes like gold passing through a fire furnace. This process is responsible for the very high level of moral respect the chiefs command through their words, public conducts and traditional activities.

Ayiri Emami, who had been invited for his chieftaincy revalidation. Before the assembly, beads and sword that symbolically confer chieftaincy authority were submitted as the first part of the process after which a title once held by his late father Chief Akonu Emami was offered to Ayiri Emami, an offer he respectfully declined with the assembly as witness.

Ayiri Emami was first in 2021 was invited for revalidation which he turned down then until recently the king and mr ayiri settled their differences when ayiri came for reaffirmation the king told him you need to climb up again so the king wanted to give him his fathers title which is Eyeku of Warri kingdom but ayiri pleaded for ologbotsere and the king said he will need to start from there but Mr Ayiri refused and the king asked him to sit with the congress but he left the palace the king moved forward to give chief Eyewuoma ologbotsere who was also one of the candidates contesting for the title of ologbotsere in 2017 before it was given to ayiri then by Olu Ikenwoli.

Mr Ayiri position on becoming a prime minister no longer exist there are some saying he brought fake beads and fake uda that he still remains ologbotsere I want you to ignore them the last person to hold the title was Chief Rewane and Chief Rewane didn’t give his beads and uda to Mr Ayiri Emami new beads and new uda doesn’t mean anything it is the proclamation of the king that makes you a chief in Warri kingdom.

The King is called Áfọmàsín, Áfọwẹrẹ-tséwẹrẹ! And his words are final he holds the authority to promote you as a chief or demote you he has the power to strip you of ever becoming a chief.

The King Has Spoken God Bless His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III the Olu of Warri kingdom;

But traditionally the title cannot be passed to another family without the consent of theholders.

Since the Emami family refused to bring a replacement for Ayiri nor interchange office with the new awardee the king should keep suspending the functions of the office till further notice until there's an amicable resolution.
Ayiri is a crook thats why he presented a fake bead and sword of office thereby Hakiming the King grin
The new Ologbotsere is from his family so he can go and do as he pleases. He is no longer relevant in the kingdom, last kick of a dying horse.
The King was so wise and made sure he was present during the installation of the new Ologbotsere. I thought he said he didn't recognize the Olu as his king so why bow down before him

Just strip the so called family of the title and appoint a new family with the title if they are n9t willing to nominate a new chief. Make sure to reduce that titles power’s from prime minister to war general, under the command of the king and his council. Raise another loyal criminal and hand him the title. Criminals have their place in society but you give them powers that can be controlled.
Less than two years later the family has done the right thing in nominating another and Ayiri removed as the Ologbotsere which he shouldn't have been in the first place. The King in his wisdom offered him another lesser title which he declined.

This will not go down well with some people who hold the ancient tradition to high esteem.

Some things that must be put into consideration-
1. Is the Ologbotsere descendant's fully in the picture?
2. By tradition, the seating Ologbotsere can only be replaced when he dies.

I see a fresh legal battle looming.

Speak of what you know. Ayiri does not belong to the Ologbotsere family but was given the honor. The family have withdrawn their title and given it to another.

He can go to court but he'll lose woefully. Me I want him to fernent trouble so that the Olu can place him on exile. The Olu has been lenient and patient enough with the rascal.

Garfield1 accept Ayiri into your team. We dash una 😅
Ayiri belongs to the Ologbotsere family through his link to the Dibofun family of Jakpa. He was wrong on his opposition to the throne and I believe he has realized his mistake and has decided to relinquish the title of Ologbotsere and the king in His magnamity and wisdom offered him his father's title which he politely declined but that does not mean he isn't from the Ologbotsere lineage.
He has been assigned a role by the palace for the advancement of the kingdom, you must not be a chief to promote the kingdom

He was given an option to still remain a chief which he refused, I guess his pride wouldn't let him so.

The Olu of warri Ogiame Atuwatse 111 is a king amongst kings and he did the right thing yesterday by installing a new Ologbotsere in the person of Chief Eyewuoma.
Ayiri was offered his father's chieftaincy title which he turned down. So Ayiri ceases to be a chief of the palace and the Itsekiri's are pleased with the openings.
