DeOTR:If you have followed our tradition very well you will find out majority of the Itsekiri's never wanted Ayiri as Ologbotsere and one major voice was that of Chief Rita Lori. The late King still went ahead and Itsekiri's accepted it because no one can question the king, after the king's demise Ayiri tried playing God and if not handled seriously it may cause serious unrest in the kingdom. The king gave him ample time to turn a new leaf but he refused and even ridiculed and questioned the legitimacy of the King, in all the King was patient. The time for revalidation came and he refused to turn up, the king didn't give out the position but suspended him just to see if he will revert back to his senses but he refused. The Ooni of Ife visited him on this same issue and he was adamant, the Oba of Benin called him to a meeting regarding this same issue and he still wouldn't bend. So the King was very right in taking the step he took and the king even offered him his original title, the one he inherited from his father which he refused. Now back to the Ologbotsere title, this is the highest title in the land after the King. In the absence of the Ologbotsere the Iyatsere takes up the position of the Ologbotsere now do you think the families of the Ologbotsere will be happy that their family is been shortchanged because one of their sons has gone rogue, if you were the elders of the Ologbotsere family what will you do. 1 Like |

DeOTR:I don't know where you are from but as an Itsekiri no one is on the same level with the king. All are servants to the throne and the king does as it pleases him. The king's titles include Áfomasin=He who speaks and doesn't go back Ogiame=Lord of the water Afotse=He who says and does 5 Likes 1 Share |

ib0221:What you advised is true but he was proud and the king could have just installed another Ologbotsere in his absence but the King wanted him to be present. As a chief you must submit your beads to the King for revalidation and after collecting your beads if the king decides not to return it to you that day you stop being a chief and there is no two ways about it but if you have done well your beads and sword will be returned to you which calls for big celebration. One of the biggest disgrace to a chief is to have his beads not returned to him, the King offered him his father's title so as to remove shame from his eyes but his pride wouldn't allow him. The end of a one time great man. It's painful what pride and greed can do to a man. 8 Likes |

juvewalex:He has no case, he is just misguided. His father was a chief and he was given his father's title. The late Olu elevated him to the position of Ologbotsere which he shouldn't have in the first place. At the demise of the Olu he Ayiri was playing God going contrary to the will of the people and even the ruling family because he was the Ologbotsere and sees himself as the highest authority in the absence of the king and as such he wanted to install another prince as the king and when it backfired he started throwing tantrums. Ask Ayiri if the beads he is talking about was the one used by the last Ologbotsere before him. The King was magnanimous enough to even offer him his father's title which was the chieftaincy title he was originally given but he declined because his pride is bigger than the kingdom itself. My greatest joy is that he declined that offer cos he can never be trusted and so shouldn't be in the circle of the King. Ogiame Suoooo Oma Iwere Dede 6 Likes |

Guyman01:The new Ologbotsere is from his family so he can go and do as he pleases. He is no longer relevant in the kingdom, last kick of a dying horse. The King was so wise and made sure he was present during the installation of the new Ologbotsere. I thought he said he didn't recognize the Olu as his king so why bow down before him 7 Likes

NothingDoMe:Ayiri belongs to the Ologbotsere family through his link to the Dibofun family of Jakpa. He was wrong on his opposition to the throne and I believe he has realized his mistake and has decided to relinquish the title of Ologbotsere and the king in His magnamity and wisdom offered him his father's title which he politely declined but that does not mean he isn't from the Ologbotsere lineage. He has been assigned a role by the palace for the advancement of the kingdom, you must not be a chief to promote the kingdom Ogiame Suoooo 1 Like |

Ayiri is not the first chief to be lose his title and he won't be the last. He was given an option to still remain a chief which he refused, I guess his pride wouldn't let him so. His family brought out Chief Eyewuoma for the position and he was in the know of it all so No Issue 1 Like |

The Olu of warri Ogiame Atuwatse 111 is a king amongst kings and he did the right thing yesterday by installing a new Ologbotsere in the person of Chief Eyewuoma. Ayiri was offered his father's chieftaincy title which he turned down. So Ayiri ceases to be a chief of the palace and the Itsekiri's are pleased with the openings. Long live the king Ogiame Suoooo 1 Like 1 Share |
