Lady Attacks Her Only Daughter With Blade Over Meat Theft (Graphic Photos)
An 8-year-old identified as Rukaya, was, yesterday, brutalized with a razor blade by her mother for allegedly stealing meat from the pot of soup.

The incident happened around 7pm in Ajangbadi, Lagos. But for the quick intervention of neighbors who rushed Rukaya to a nearby hospital, she might have bled to death.

However, when the mom was summoned to the clinic to the see extent of her attack on the girl, the breastfeeding mother-of-4 started wailing and rolling on the floor.

She claimed she didn’t know she went that far. Lagos State welfare officers were later notified of the incident and the culprit was subsequently whisked away.

As much as 30 persons lost the opportunity to see the new year after they were killed on Monday in a fatal road accident.

About 15 minutes to the new year, 30 lives were reportedly lost in a road accident on Monday night near Bola Ige International market along new Ife-Ibadan expressway, Gbagi, Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

A report by Punch revealed that the victims were crushed to death by an oncoming trailer from Iwo road axis which rammed into the commercial buses by the entrance of the market.

Punch correspondent had around the same time, witnessed firefighters battling to quench an inferno that engulfed multimillion naira goods at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba Ibadan shop complex near Elder Taye Ayorinde house Ekotedo, Ibadan. No life was lost in this incident.

The Gbagi accident which occurred around 11:45pm, led to heavy gridlock which saw vehicles enroute Ife from Ibadan stranded for several hours.

Although, no eyewitness could say if the trailer suffered a brake failure or if the affected buses were parked on the road, sources confirmed that only two people initially survived the accident and many people were taken to a nearby hospital while other passengers were said to have died immediately.

A Toyota Camry and Nissan Micra cars were also said to have been crushed by the trailer.

Sources, however, hinted that many of the victims included people going to churches for the cross-over service at Iyana-Agbala and Egbeda Area of the capital city.

Victims included a pregnant woman, simply identified as Mrs. Funmilayo who was said to be on her way to visit her In-laws; a driver of a bus identified as ‘Orobo Baba Weather’; and many others that could not be identified as of the time of filing this report.

Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Adekunle Ajisebutu, puts the casualty figure at eleven, while another report obtained from the office of the Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mrs Cecilia Alao, indicated that 12 people died as a result of the incident and their corpses were deposited at the morgue of Oyo State Specialist Hospital, Adeoyo.

It noted that aside from nine who died immediately at the scene, additional three persons died on Tuesday morning out of the 10 injured victims who were conveyed to Toun Specialist Hospital, Iwo road area for medical attention.

Giving a witness account, a middle aged man who simply identified himself as Waris Olatunde said that a bus belonging to his boss named, ‘Orobo baba welder’ had loaded passenger at the spot and when it was about to embark on its journey, a trailer enroute Iwo-road from Ife axis crossed the road and wrecked the havoc.

Olatunde who claimed to be the conductor of the bus that was crushed further said that, he narrowly escaped the incident because the driver of the vehicle (Orobo Baba Weather) paid him N200 and asked him to go back instead of joining his boss on the trip.

He said, “It was only God that saved me. Usually, I use to collect money for him from the passengers before he leaves the park but in this case he said since it was late already, I should take N200 and leave.”

It was gathered from reports by Facebook users, that the unnamed woman who is said to be a mother of two children allegedly sent her unclad pictures to her younger lover whom she was having an affair with.



The pictures which were purportedly leaked by the lover months after their affair have got Nigerian internet users wondering why some women especially the married ones would decide to send nude pictures to their lovers not considering that it may backfire like this.

Beautiful Criminal

A 31-year-old woman, Stellamaris Ebhohimen, has been arrested by the police for allegedly stealing products valued at N4.2m, which belong to the company she works for.

The beautiful woman works as a Loss Prevention Officer at Hubmart Stores Limited in Lagos. How was she caught?

It was alleged that Ebhohimen and another staff member from the loss prevention section were seen on a closed-circuit television footage stealing goods from the shelves.

The Chief Security Officer of the firm, George Udu, said investigation revealed that the Edo State indigene had been stealing from the store for more than two weeks.

He said:-

“On November 21, 2018, the Head of Operations brought a case of theft to the notice of the loss prevention department. He asked one of the loss prevention staff members, Jennifer Shedrack, to investigate the case. But according to him, he was not satisfied with her report, so, I was called to investigate further.

“I, alongside the Head of Operations, went to review the CCTV footage and we found out that Ebhohimen had been picking merchandise from the store every morning, and the management believed she was being aided by someone in the organisation.

“We were able to get the footage for the period November 8 to 20, 2018, because the system overwrites itself every two weeks. But it is believed that Ebhohimen usually picks items every time she is on duty.

“Cases of missing items have been recorded for over 13 months since she was transferred from the Adeola branch to the Ikeja GRA on her request. She was employed to protect the company’s properties but she is the one stealing them.”

Ebhohimen, however, said she had been stealing the items all alone.

She stated:-

“I usually pick the items in the morning before the store is opened for the day. The lining of my bag is torn so that is where I usually keep the items I steal. Whenever we close from work, we are always searched but without a careful search, the stolen items cannot be discovered.

“It is just me that usually steal. I don’t have an accomplice. As a loss prevention officer, I know I am not supposed to pick up what I did not pay for.”

Ebhohimen was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on one count of stealing.

The police prosecutor, Michael Unah, said the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The charge read:-

“That you, Stellamaris Ebhohimen, between November 11, 2018 and November 20, 2018, at Hubmart Stores Limited, 26 Isaac John Street, GRA, Ikeja, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did steal cosmetics, creams, clothes and perfumes valued at N4,267,960, property of Hubmart Stores Limited.”

After saying that she was stealing alone, she pleaded not guilty.

The presiding magistrate, Mr A. A. Fashola, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum, The Punch reports.

Fashola said the sureties must be gainfully employed with evidence of two years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government and have their addresses verified by the court.

He added that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and adjourned the case till January 30, 2019.

Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have arrested a 15-year-old Senior Secondary School pupil, Precious Ehiedo, and two others, Juliet Ogben and Favour Okoh, for allegedly stealing and selling two siblings between the ages of two and seven for N800,000.

The state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, who handed over one of the recovered children to their parents , said the teenager had requested money from her parents for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination registration, but the parents allegedly told her to steal the children in order to raise the money.

The police boss said, “

On November 13 at around 9am, one Precious Ehiedo, 15, daughter of Mr and Mrs Romeo and Uchechi Ehiedo, resident at Ogbuaku in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State but natives of Abraka in Delta State, requested from her parents money for the SSCE registration.

“Her parents told her to go and steal children for them to sell in order to raise money for her examination. Being familiar with the two children at her maternal home, Umuezeala Ama, in Ehime Mbano LGA of Imo State, she stole the children.

“The girl and her father left for Mbano, but the father stopped at the Amaraku Market square, waiting for his daughter to hand over the children, who he had instructed her to steal.

“The 15-year-old met the children playing, stole them and joined her father at the Amaraku Market and both left with the children to Ogbaku.

“The children were sold to one Mama Joy at the rate of N800,000. Mama Joy, with one Favour Okoh, resold one of the children to one Juliet Ogbor for N750,000.”

The CP added that acting on credible intelligence, the operatives of the Surveillance Squad of the command recovered one of the children, Chiemerem, on December 15 at Agbor in Delta State.
