Thank you very much drea. I now have more topics to talk about on my next album. Its so amazing cuz people who just shoot down gospel hiphop are not really listen to real words of whats being said. I actually like this forum, its great for new ideas. I gotta make sure the whole world hears what I have to say.
Music Business / Re: How To Become A Music Producer For Famous Artistes? by lilayo(m): 3:08pm On Nov 01, 2006
I think you maybe missing something in what you need. No matter how great your music or beat is, you have to understand that its still a business at the end of the day. Take for example someone like Kanye West. If you listen to his first album he's explaining how everything happened for him. He'd been doing beats since like what, maybe the early 90's, but people just started hearing about him in like 99. Another person is like the Neptunes.

One advise that I would personally give is to take a music business class, and read some books. The worst thing that could happen to you is if you get beats to those artist, and you're not paid what you're suppose to. You also need a good attorny. I made sure I studied all that before I released my album. There's also other information i can give you, its so much info.

Drea, I understand what you are saying. My question is what do you think of gospel hip-hop? In Act 1 verse 8, Jesus said to specifically go forth and spread the word to all nations. Not everyone can stand infront of people and start preaching the word like pastors. But I'd like to know what you think of gospel hip-hop.

Music/Radio / Re: Best Hip Hop Beef/Diss Song Of All Time! by lilayo(m): 7:17pm On Sep 12, 2006
I agree that the diss was great, everyone can see that. However since Biggie (according to you) couldnt diss back, it made it kinda one way. Now if they had gone toe to toe, i'm telling you, it would've been even greater. Biggie's lyrics were beyond what you were hearing at that time, but I think Tupac would've still one.

Yes he did a couple of subliminals, but it doesnt really doesnt make it that strong.  I think if he went toe to toe with Tupac, that would be greatest battle ever in history.  LL and Canibus was also good, but definately not the best (in my opinion).
Music/Radio / Re: Best Hip Hop Beef/Diss Song Of All Time! by lilayo(m): 6:46pm On Sep 12, 2006
How can yall say Tupac vs. Biggie was the best battle when Biggie didn't respond? In order for there to be a battle, it has to be 2 ways. I think the best battle in my time was Nas vs. Jay-Z. The battle was great until Jay-Z became too emotional to accept that he lost and kept on going on when people didnt care anymore.

No other beef in my time is better. 50 cent's beefs are corney to me. If you look at his beefs carefully, he does them in the same exact pattern. He'll rap for a verse or 2, not really saying anything. Then before the song ends, he'll start talking. Thats not battling to me, he's just a puppet who makes noice.

Just my opinion,

I understand what you are saying and agree with some of it, but not all. You cant just say hip-hop and r&b is devilish. You said something very important, you said its the 'MESSAGE' in the music. So with that being said, someone can say dont listen to any music period because even a gospel song can have a devilish message. Hip-hop is a form of art. The way that I see it, not everyone can rap. So because everyone cant rap, it must be a talent from God. If God has given you a talent, its up to you for you to use it for him, but as you said most people use it for the devel which is very true. But as you said, it's the 'MESSAGE', that in the music. If it's coming directly from God, he can get to his people in any form or fashion.

For example, God can talk to a prostitute while she is prostituting through anyone walking by on the street. My point there is that its not the form of music, 'rock, hip-hop, r&b, and so', but the message that is coming out. Thats just my opinion.
