Programming / Re: Programmers: At What Age Did You Start Programming? by limorider(m): 8:21pm On Mar 14, 2023
I have been programming since I was 9 years old. Things were very different back then, but I was able to adapt with new technology over time. A word of advice to new programmers: You never stop learning. You don't "learn programming" and then you're done; there's always something new to learn, and you'll find yourself behind if you get comfortable and stop adapting.

Programming / Re: You Would Better Start Programming With Java Or C# by limorider(m): 4:03pm On Mar 14, 2023
progeek37:

Java or C#... I can give both equal priority.

Kotlin runs on JVM(Java Virtual Machine). Its power relies on Java libraries and frameworks so it cannot stand alone and be successful without Java. The equation is:
Kotlin = Java + extra
If you learn Java learning Kotlin will be a bonus but the reverse may not be the case.

I use Kotlin personally and I like it a lot. It's been running several of my professional projects for years with no issues. If you're doing asynchronous programming on the JVM, then you should absolutely use it instead of Java due to its support for coroutines.
Programming / Re: I Want My Girl of 7 to start programming by limorider(m): 3:59pm On Mar 14, 2023
I recommend trying Scratch (https://scratch.mit.edu/). My son started using that and now he's employed full time writing software. It's a very good way to start learning as a child.

Living in Nigeria can be cheap and expensive the same time. Its getting closer to the exact standard in EU if you opt for standard treatments. If you opt for close to but not standard treatments, you could save up to 50% on costs

Aha. I guess that makes sense

Just like Europe is experiencing ice caps melt down, we're experiencing longer sun light durations, more intense sun lighting as a result the afternoons are always hot

You can't cope here without proper HVACsystems put in place for you when you finally visit. Make sure
good to know. do you know the cost of living in lagos?

Germany is a policed state. I just don't trust its stance and policies

Definitely US is my top choice any day and time cause its big enough to find space to express and move out as well

BTW, Nigeria's the new front, we're brooding with the establishment of new ideas and more. If there's money, here's a place to relax once in a while. Receive natural sun. Just the few challenges we have, excessive afternoon sun heat and radiation, tiny roads leading to hectic traffics.

I've been an Hillsong Australia fan for two decades, as a reuskt the country has grown into a detonation for me. I plan to visit this country at least one yearly.

We need to explore the works and make the most of our lives you know

is living in nigeria cheap? I imagine it is but you know, you get what you pay for.

"Just the few challenges we have, excessive afternoon sun heat and radiation" Radiation? what kind?

Trust me some of us follow the intricacies of this world. We ain't taking any vaccine no matter how long they try to fool themselves

No mRNA modification. I ain't submitting myself to a vaccine who's long term effects have never been studied. Never

I'm kinda more of US/Canada/Australian person

I kinda see the EU as an anti democratic contraption disguised as a democracy, using its people like tools and subjecting them to policies it mandates upon them, altogether disguised as free will. I'm always careful about anything long term and the EU

I honestly don't trust Germany one single bit when it comes to EU

Even if it's not a real democracy, democracy is evil anyway. Germany is a puppet of the US, it gets bullied by the US army all the time and kneels to the FBI and CIA. You can get arrested by american forces in that "country". Australia is a bad choice, they built camps over there and they probably still operate. Canada is ok. but if you want to go to canada, why not go to the US? lol
I'm not happy with the EU at all. UK made the right choice leaving.

My dear come over and I'll make it worth while for your fate. I'll buy you a cock tail

It appears you're on our gang anti-new world order madness. I plan to relocate -EU and US in mind once the whole nonsense is put to rest. Ain't undergoing any vaccine thingey

The thing is. Will your country allow you exit without getting the vaccine? I can find out if it has been relaxed for visitors coming in

glad to see some other people understand the new world order nonsense. I can exit if I want to, probably. I'll see how things are in the summer. My country is in the EU so there are probably restrictions.

You don't want to go to the EU. It's strongly controlled and each EU country is a fake country, no sovereignty. You may have an easy time migrating to one, but I don't know. They're all very pro-immigrant. As for the USA? I don't know.

Should you have a vaccine passport and all you're good to go.

Mehn, come groove here. You just reminded me about the social distancing and all in Europe. Here's lit. The fun will drive you mad, you may reconsider not going back

We've moved past covid and all. Technically

Moved past covid but you still need a vaccine passport? Bleep that. I don't have one and won't have one.

Once you have a list of your preferred places, you can plan your activities next

You can plan around what and what activities for each location

I counsel that you make a tour journal to have a solid a vacation plan
Yeah. I was considering visiting this summer. Do you guys have covid restrictions and stuff? Those are barely being lifted here in Europe, and it's a real pain to deal with travel

Let's have a plan B. Visiting without a company.

For this do this. Make a list of as much tourist destinations you can gather let's say between 40-60. You'll further narrow it down to say 20 later on
Thanks for the advice

How about a tour guide/company ?

Its more fun with company, I advice not coming without company, you'll miss out on all the fun and excitement
Are there any of these that I could contact before coming?
Travel / Re: What Should I Know Before Visiting Nigeria? by limorider(m): 11:18pm On Apr 06, 2022
DoctorOlasDesk:
First, you need company. Your company will be the extra fun booster where you get buddies to chat with during your trips
That makes sense

You'll love Nigeria. I have a lot to share with you on this.

First, your coming here will be more enjoyable if you have a reliable team/buddies and all to receive you. You discount the fun of visiting by 80% if you don't have such a team

Why?
What's your advice? I don't know any Nigerians, and have not had a chance to visit any countries nearby either.

I have been interested in visiting Nigeria for a few years but never thought very much about it. I've been browsing Nairaland for many years but I see almost nothing but complaining about your country, so if it even worth coming? Lagos looks fine but you guys seem to just have violent incidents happening everywhere, so I don't know if it's a good idea to come.

I'm from a country in western Europe. Do you dislike Europeans? I want to know what to expect, and if it's worth visiting.
