Hello,
Please could you share at what gestational age did you travel to the uk, were you asked questions at the point of entry, did yu go with any document.
I am currently 22 weeks and waiting for a visa application decision. I intend to travel by end of june when I'd be 25 weeks.

Sorry just seeing your question. I presume you have sorted this out by now?

Please can you give me the names of this hospitals. We intend having our baby in the UK and we are looking at the cheapest cost with no complications. Waiting in anticipation of your kind and prompt response.

It's impossible to assure you there would be no complications. Also cheapest depends on lots of factors such as natural birth versus caesarian section, do you have family in UK, does your wife want epidural or pain free labour?. There are so many variables to consider which are uncontrollable.

If you know the region or city where you plan to stay, you can Google hospital closest to the address. Cost is almost uniform across NHS hospital

Dear House

kindly help with the following issues. thanks in advance. I have a job offer in the uk. I have being given a COS but there are some mistakes in the COS as my home address was wrongly spelt. is this an issue? can I still use the COS?

Secondly I noticed that the visa fee and health surcharge is for 3years while the length of my COS is for a year. The UKBA website says I would be given a visa equivalent to the shorter of the two period in this case a year. isn't it overcharging especially for the health surcharge? is there a way I can pay for just one year health surcharge or ask for a refund if my visa is given for just a year?

thank you for all your help

You should see your lawyer about acquiring guardianship documents for her. If she's below 18, adoption (with her parents' signed permission) is one route. If she's above that age...well, see your lawyer. I wouldn't want to spout information I am not entirely sure of.

Thank you for the advice. Would see a lawyer about it. I appreciate your constructive advice.

If there is no official document that recognizes her as your dependant, then, she is not your dependant and therefore, you are not eligible to apply for her visa or to take her abroad.

OK sir. Please what official document should I get? I am looking for solutions.

The document that gives you (or your family) the legal authority to be his/her guardian, also that indicates legal custodian rights

Oga vicjustice there is no document o. The mother can't send her to school so I took over her upbringing. No documents. If I need documents what type of documents r they?

Is there a dedicated tier 2 visa thread?

Good evening

Thanks to all the contributors in the house.

Please I would like to know if there is a separate thread for tier 2 visa?

If I'm applying for a tier 2 dependant visa, mist the dependant be my blood relation. I have a distant relative, a half orphan living with me and my family. I would like to add her to my dependant in my application for tier 2 visa. What documents do I need to submit for her.

I am a medical doctor planning to write an exam in uk in march, want to apply for my visa. I have a salary account which i use regular but the balance is always low about 40k left by month end. I want to include my wifes salary account too.she has a balance of over 1million since we dont spend her salaary. We are both health workers. To boost my account i lodge in cash from my saving and borrowed from a friend into the salary account making the balance about 500k. I have other documents i need like my booking email. @Lokia. It doesn't matter if balance is at zero in your savings account. As long as there is money going in and out and not a one time lump sum. You can include it in your supporting documents, You should also include your salary account as evidence of your income, then you should not forget to add your spouse's statement of account, while she writes you a support letter stating funds will be available to you throughout your stay.
Adding your cooperative and thrift society account is not a bad idea. Just avoid cooking up account and lump sum deposit. As long as there is evidence you are a signatory to the accounts you want to use and funds will be readily available to you.

Your proof of ties family, work etc is ok. Regarding accommodation, I will advice you request a tenancy agreement from your family friend if he his willing to give you with his passport data page, recent utility bill, bank statement and Biometric resident card or Passport showing his residential status in UK.
This method reduces further need to show more funds. If you can't get the above from your family friend you can go on to book hostel.

Hope you going for PLAB 2 Training course in London? cool

Yes i would be going for the plabtrainer course . Thanks for your help.

Read somewhere that you have to submit original of your document. Abeg i hope that isnt true? I would submit originals of my educational certificate and marriage certificate?

@justwise, @studyabroad. Thanks for your response. I was just naive and didnt think. My saving into my saving account isnt regular. when i collect "ajo" contribution i usually put it there which is onec in 8 month unfortunately i had a project done in march so the balance went to zero. So if i get a six months statement it would read from zero to 350k (deposited by various people in three months). I felt the account wont be nice. Please what can i do to this account

Can i use my cooperative and thrift society account. I regularly for a year save into the account but its not a bank and im not sure it would be recognised. I have about a 500k in the account and can access another 500k as loan.

@studyabroad2 its for plab2. My documents are completed. Im married with a child and work with the government so i guess proof of ties should be okay.

Another area im worried about is accommodation. I plann on staying with a family friend. Is it advisable to ask him to send the tenancy agreement and passport plus bank statement or should i just book accommodation in a hostel?

Thanks for your help

It's a fund that invests in real estate and not the stock market. It offers low price growth (25% a yr) but plans to pay a high dividend (prospectus promises N19 dividend on a N100 unit). It's a good idea for beginners and risk-averse investors. Hope this helps.
@easimoni

thanks for the explanation. what is ur take on it ? do you think they would be able to pay the 19naira dividend? is the offer price of 100naira not too expensive?

@ ALL,

AS I OPEN MY CRYSTALL BALL I SEE BEFORE ME ANOTHER WAY TO MONEY MAKING:
Trading will commence soon and i think this is another avenue we should look into to add to our stocks portfolios, the on line trading will soon begin i have join in the train so why not, So far, the exchange has traded a cumulative value of about N40 million in 2,112 contracts since its inception in July 2006,I love my fatherland GOD BLESS NAIJA.

THE ABUJA SECURITIES & COMMODITY EXCHANGE (ASCE)

The Abuja Securities & Commodity Exchange(ASCE) was originally incorporated as a Stock Exchange on June 17, 1998. It commenced electronic trading in securities in May 2001 and was converted to a commodity Exchange on August 8, 2001 and brought under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Commerce. The conversion was premised on the need for an alternative institutional arrangement that would manage the effect of price fluctuations in the marketing of agricultural produce which has adversely affected the earnings of farmers since the abolishment of commodity Boards in 1986. Attempts to establish a Commodity Exchange and Futures market in the country dates back to 1989 when an Inter-Ministerial Technical Committee was set up at the behest of the Central Bank of Nigeria to look into how a Futures Exchange for agricultural commodities could be established to address frontally the agro-commodity marketing problems.

The Exchange will be of immense benefits to farmers, agro-commodity processors and merchants, as it will serve as a veritable platform for them to mitigate the inherent risks in agricultural production and marketing. The enlarged market for agricultural produce, which the ASCE will engender, shall promote commercial farming and the growth of the agricultural sector. The Exchange will start operations in spot and forward markets and gradually introduce trading in warehouse receipts and eventually evolve into a futures market trading commodity futures and options. It will trade contracts in agricultural produce, solid mineral products, energy, financial indices and currencies. The Exchange will commence spot trading on agricultural commodity contracts in July 2006 and later in the year launch spot trading on solid mineral contracts.
