TimAke: Okay here we go ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png) First off, I appreciate everyone on here who give their time and effort to assist and painstakingly answer questions. Special shout out to Frankrobbin and fratermathy for some crucial answers they gave to my doubts that spurred me to take key actions at critical points. At last PPR in the mail. Please find details below:
First time applicant applied from Estonia VAC: Warsaw University: University of Regina Programme: PhD Public Policy Started online classes already
Timeline Date Applied: June 18 Biometrics Request: June 19 Biometrics Given: June 24 AIP: August 11 Upfront Medical: August 26 Medical Updated Passed: September 24 BVL/Correspondence Letter: October 15 Passport Request (PPR): October 17
Documents Submitted All necessary IMM forms Letter of Acceptance MSc degree certificate and transcript BSc degree certificate and transcript Copies of travel stamps, visas and conference certificates to show travel history. Letter of Introduction All documents arranged and merged in one pdf Letter of EE pool withdrawal (been in the pool for ages with no hope anyways lol)
Statement of Purpose: I detailed my education and professional background linked it as much as I could to my programme. I will be researching on public service digitalization, so had to talk about my passion for a digitalized public service and how I was coming back to Naija to help with this.
Home Ties: I have nothing yet in Naija except my family, so had to build on that, let them know my mum was widowed and I am the oldest so I definitely had to come back for them. Added my naija pension fund statement too.
Proof of Fund: I was self-sponsored with savings equivalent to about N5m. Showed bank statement.
University Funding Letter of 10k CAD
My Estonian Pension statement
Letter from my supervisor explaining I would have a TA position and stated the monthly pay.
Not sure if I covered everything but feel free to mention of you need some clarification or questions.
For everyone still waiting, I believe the coming week will come with lots of news like mine especially as October 20 is here already. For those who have been rejected, please keep the hope, keep asking questions and do the right thing. It will work out in the end. Peace Congratulations on your PPR! Did you eligiblity and background check change before you got the PPR? |

Let’s see what IRCC will do in the coming days/weeks as per Passport Request to those with AIPs who’ve also scaled Admissibility stage(2). If they start sending PRs, it means they are ready to receive students and Border Service will be lenient with their conditions/requirements. If PRs are not sent out in the next 2-4 weeks, then no immediate hope of entry into Canada,
It shall be well Please how does one know whether he/she has scaled stage 2? Thanks 1 Like 1 Share |

Sharonyeah: Good afternoon everyone, please I need our candid advice.
I finished my BSC in Mechanical Engineering in a university in UK but I finished with 2.2 hence when I was searching for admission for Masters, I discovered on the school website that I can only go for Advanced Diploma before proceeding for Masters.
Now, the challenge is, how do I explain in my SOP that going for Advanced Diploma is a career progression without mentioning that I finished with 2:2.
My fear is, if I state that I finished with a 2.2, It may reduce my chances of getting Visa Application.
Please this is urgent as I plan submitting my application before the end of this week. Mentioning your grade won't affect your chances of getting approval. You should go for a post graduate degree or a postgraduate certificate. I think it's higher than an advanced diploma. All the best. 2 Likes |

Hello...congrats in advance...May it be successful by God's grace.
Pls How did you pay for ur 235CAD (application + Biometric fees) ?? Was it through your naira debit card or what??
Also, which conversion rate did you use to calculate the naira equivalent of ur fees (tuition, living expenses e.t.c) ??
You can use Access bank card, their limit is $300 but their rate I quite high. I was charge almost 380 naira to 1CAD when I paid mine. |

Chocs: Hello LordAA
After booking, you were meant to get an email, in that email there’s a confirm appointment button which you were meant to click. If you did that, your appointment should still be valid for the day you booked except you cancelled the appointment.
All the best
Thank you |

That's great, it's cool u av pointed out the area of Mathematics u wanna go into "Financial Mathematics"
But still don't limit urself to those four skools, do check other skools offering M.SC in Mathematics, visit their Website, Check their Staff Profile, you would see Professor & Doctors (who's research interest is into the area of FINANCIAL MATHEMATICS or related research interests). Mail them to know if they are accepting Students for thesis-based Masters in their Research Area (Financial Mathematics).
Do make use of the tool (link) I posted in which you can use to prepare a Contextual SOP & Personalize Email and reach out to Potential Supervisors (prof & doctors) Hello boss, Please are you Canada at the moment? |

Hello everyone,
I know this is the wrong thread but I'm in an urgent need now.
Please I need someone that sells Canadian dollars. I am unable to pay my tuition fees from Nigeria because of scarcity of dollar caused by COVID-19.
Please I need a recommendation of a trusted person who can sell CAD to me.
Thanks. |

jimohib: You should download the GetBarter or Wallets Africa app. If you really need to do this right now, I think you should use their virtual card service.
Although you will pay more compared to the bank rates but it's likely the only option you have for now. Else, you need a dollar card from your bank. It took me about 2 weeks to get mine from GTB, and it was before COVID19.
So friend, GetBarter or Wallets Africa are your best bet right now. But expect to pay between 450 - 490 per dollar sha. And it works!
✌
Please can this also be used for tittuon fee payment? |

This might not be the case for everyone tho as your experience with either of them is purely relative.
