MamBi: True talk. It's always good to take a step back and assess situations objectively. It's very easy to become nitpicky and sentimental when things aren't going your way. 1 Like |

Geezeem: My sentiments exactly. The production must have considered that as the most populated country in Africa, and the country with (most likely) the largest followership of the BB franchise, Nigeria has the power to sway the votes drastically in their favor. They made this move to subvert that possibility and perhaps give other African countries who also watch the show a chance to have their own say in the results. On paper, it's not a terrible idea. I just wish they had handled it better. Revealing such an important detail about voting technicalities AFTER the results had already been shown and evictions had been done was a bit of douche move to be honest. The fans were completely blindsided and I don't blame those who insist it was rigged because the fact that we only got this information after eviction made it seem like a deliberate move to throw _shit in Nigerians' faces. Why weren't we told BEFORE the voting lines were opened on Monday Night? They clearly knew the route they'd take with the voting results and yet they failed to communicate it accordingly to the general public. At any rate, what is done is done. Its lucky that Kanaga Jnr managed to escape by the skin of his teeth. K-force will go back to the drawing board and restrategize. But if I'm being honest, it would be better to hope that he wins HOH today, cos if he's up next week and more than two are evicted... ...there will surely be tears. 3 Likes |

Amya: I was coming to say this. If truly other African countries ganged up on Nigeria during BBA, then how on earth did we manage to bag the most wins in the history of the competition if the rest of Africa didn't vote in our favor? If you want to push the "Nigerians are the most hated in Africa" narrative, I think there are better examples to use than BBA, LoL. 5 Likes |

thatigboman: I thought you meant the final week. I don't think there has been any African BB that such has happened. I'll check though. That being said, you can have more than 5 housemates going into the final week, it's not a guarantee that they'll all be present on the last day. There could be one or two surprise evictions before finale night. Take BBNaija Level Up for example. There were 7 housemates going into the final week: Phyna, Bryann, Bella, Adekunle, Daniella, Rachel and Chizzy. Provided they made it into the final week, we could call them finalists. Big Brother addressed them as finalists himself. You could argue that Rachel and Chizzy weren't "true housemates", and so technically, weren't finalists. But it doesn't really make any difference. It could be done this year, with the weakest two booted out before the main finals. For international examples, you have Big Brother UK 8. There were 6 housemates on the final night: Brian, Amanda & Sam (twins playing as a single housemate), Liam, Ziggy, Carole and Jonty. They were all true housemates. There's also BBUK 19. The finalists were Cameron, Akeem, Cian, Zoe, Brooke and Sian. Voting lines closed and two housemates were booted out 2 nights before the main finale night. Lines were reopened and there were four housemates on the main finale night. Edit: BBNaija SYE also had 6 finalists. Thanks for reminding me, Smoothgio. |

thatigboman: Technically, yes. BBNaija S7 Level Up. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Brother_Naija_(season_7) Edited to add: BBUK also has many seasons featuring 6 finalists. Off the top of my head: BBUK 8 and BBUK 17. |

Lauryn41: With the results I've seen for the past three BBtitans voting weeks, I honestly won't even rate Khosi confidently as the number one contender anymore. If Tsatsii can top Kanaga Jnr, then I don't know what you expect me to think. The fact is -- this has so far been the most unpredictable Big Brother season we've witnessed. Anybody following media hype is just going to mislead himself badly. 3 Likes |

anonymous1759: It's been more than 6 hours since I first read this tripe. Whoever I'm supporting is COMPLETELY irrelevant to the issue I'm driving at. There are MOUNTAINS of evidence littered all over the cyberspace indicating electoral fraud committed by INEC in APC's favor. If Satan himself came and won an election that can be witnessed and attested by everyone to be free and fair in this country, I would be upset. But at least I know to direct my anger at the _retards that voted for him. Can't you see the difference? I'm annoyed that I have to type out something so commonsensical to you. My issue isn't with the results. My issue is that the electoral process keeps getting compromised over and over again and then people like you come out and defend it saying it was free and fair. Then you start talking about stupid structures designed by plutocrats to suppress the freewill of the common citizens and hinder societal progress and development. If you don't have the integrity and/or honesty to understand this simple problem, then it's pointless to even begin to peel the blinders off you. Enjoy your "DeMoCrAcY". |

meobizy: No offense but anyone who has watched at least 1 season of BBUK from launch to finale (especially the Channel 5 editions which I think lasted from 2011 to 2018) will be snickering at that ignorant paragraph you wrote up there @bold. BBNaija gbas gbos is kindergarten television next to BBUK squabbles. Perhaps it may have to do with season you watched. Check out the most recent ones like BBUK 18 and BBUK 19. The Kumbaya phase in those two editions didn't exceed past the opening night. During the first week, housemates were already trolling, bullying and taking shots at other housemates. Our BBNaija takes at least 3 weeks before any engaging narrative begins to unfold. And I'm LMFAO @ ".....I never got to see character interactions nor significant personalities stand out from the hive.". LoLz! From BBUK 19 alone, you had: Anamelia (the self-righteous, patronizing drama queen) Lewis G (troll personified. This guy pisses people off and starts fights for NO reason, just for shits and giggles). Kay (persecution complex in the flesh) Lewis F (social justice warrior) Akeem (Mister do-good. Know-it-all) Cameron (insufferable nag who eventually won with pity votes because he came out as gay during the show) Hussain (Another troll like Lewis G. He's also a manipulator and an instigator. Unfortunately he played too hard forgetting it was BBUK and not BBUS, so he got booted the week he entered). ....Then there's Tomasz, Brooke, Cian etc. In fact, everybody from that season had different methods to their madness. Of all the Big Brothers that use the audience vote format, the British version is the most popular and successful all over the world. As for BBUS, scripted or not, it's still ten times more entertaining than BBNaija. So there's that. I know this is an old post, but the fact that no one addressed the BBUK slander here is just sad. Then again, not many here watch the foreign versions of the franchise. 1 Like |
