Whether you applied for SSC or DSSC with either BSc or HND, you can't get to the same rank with someone who pass through their regular course of study.I.e (NDA). So what SSc mean is short service combat( infantry section basically trained to face war) while DSSC means Direct short service commission ( Non-infantry but trained also on special field to monitor the affair of the soldiers. You must serve the commission for at least Fifteen years before you can decide to quit not that it is fifteen years you will spend in service.

Anyway, I commend her for a quick decision without fear during the incident but that shouldn't call for hailed as a great success rather given praise to GOD that took control of everything.
