Hello lyfisgud,

In my view, looking to move your kids and wife abroad while you stay in Nigeria is something you should reconsider.

Again, if you are sceptical about racism, you should allow your kids do secondary education in Nigeria and send them abroad for their bachelors. Many bachelor programs run for 3 years in the UK. I am saying this because of the cash you seem to be making from your business. In addition to the fact that your kids would have developed some level of self awareness and confidence doing their secondary education in Nigeria which would come handy for them in a predominantly caucasian society since your choice is Europe or USA/Canada.

The high point of the above is that only few countries offer structured pathways to gaining permanent residency cum citizenship. It is something you should think of critically. Without necessary papers, life abroad is not something you want to subject your family to.

But if you insist on the move, let your wife move to say UK or Canada for studies. She should do "Nursing" preferably in the UK, and any other course in Canada. For Canada, once she gets study visa, she is certain of becoming a permanent resident after a few years through the numerous pathways available.

PS: Don't move to a country where it is not certain of getting papers. Especially as you are already married - which has ruled out some stuff people do to get their papers. Good luck.

Thanks so much for the detailed explanation, I'll look into the nursing program for my wife in the UK. One very quick question, do I have apply for my wife and have my kids as dependent while I'm the sponsor or do I have to apply for wife, apply for my son(5yrs) and have my daughter(1yr) as dependent while I'm the sponsor?

Since ur reason for relocation is quality education and peaceful environment for ur family...there are african countries that will surely give you that...you don't have to go through rigorous process of white countries...by the way ur kids will experience racism in school

Thanks for your input, I understand the racism part and it's almost everywhere.

Which other African country looks or feels American /European in terms of infrastructure, quality education, serene and peaceful environment, security and not too high cost of living for a family, I have only been to cote d voire, Togo, Rwanda and Ghana.

Dear Nairalanders,

Please I need first hand/concrete advice from you guys, I am a 36yrs old married man with 2 kids, a business man that shuttles between Nigeria and Ghana.

I just made up my mind to relocate my family out of Nigeria for the kids (5yrs & 1yr) to have access to quality education, serene and peaceful environment, my plan is to enroll my kids in school and also get something doing for my wife over there while i stay back in Africa to continue my business.

I am looking for a country where communication wont be a problem(English), where cost of living is cheap/average(Rent, Bills and school fees), what kinda short course i can enroll my wife on(She's got only SSCE level of education but she has baking experience cos she attended a baking school few years ago).

The sum of 10m is available towards the relocation process but can easily be raised to 13m by Sept 2021, anyone and everyone with knowledge, advice and experience should please drop a word or two to help me.

Good morning Nairalanders,

I dont know where or who my issue can be directed to so please someone who experienced or presently experiencing the same issue should advice cos i cant even tell if its a problem or not.

I am way too EMOTIONAL towards people, I shed tears very easily when i see people suffer or struggling in life, I shed tears even when i'm in a public transport and i see kids hawking or selling by the roadside, old men and women hawking or selling by the roadside or doing some menial jobs just to survive to the extent that people see the tears start asking what the problem is which i have to lie to them that am fine, bla bla bla.

Whenever i watch movies and actors/actresses go through sorrowful, sad times then i start shedding tears, when someones dies and they are being buried then tears starts rolling down my cheek, whenever i see beggars then i start feeling sad wishing i could have the power to help everybody so that no one will have to feel sad or lack basic things in life.

I am very happy when i see people happy, it makes me feel very good and that is why i made it my biggest hobby to try my best to put smile on people's face as much as God powers me to do financially.

This issue is seriously eating me up cos i spend most of my time thinking, not about myself but about helping people who are in need eventhough i dont have the power to put smiles on everybody's face but i need to know if what am going through is a problem that needs medical attention as i have been going through this for God knows how long.
