China again. I think China have quality materials to use for that project. But I believe julios begger is the best on road construction.

Arab contractors na Baba. Julius Berger is useless. If FG had given Lagos Ibadan express way to Arab contractors and the Chinese ccecc, that road would have been done under two years . Payment could have even been structured based on milestone. Julius Berger is past glory and scam. They are so so slow and sometimes I think it's deliberate. Procurement is a major issue in this country If not so many construction companies beat Julius Berger hands down.

Present all you know before and all he told and gave you to the consultant you will see in ayinke. Request the same type of scan he did if you know the name.
It's not really money that is my problem afterall people use Lagoon. It's just I don't see any conviction in the story. I have been carried away by doctors before so I don't look at that much.

Thank you so much for this advice. God bless you. I will take this advice and we will go to ayinke house to see a consultant. Thank you once again. Funny thing is my mum and brother in law also recommended Ayinke house from day one but the whole COVID-19 scare is what put us off a d the wrong info we got that they are only seeing emergency patients. My mum doesn't like private profit driven hospitals at all and she also believes the government hospitals more.

Scan for 7500 which hospital is this pricey pls follow omojudy advice she has much experience there.

The scan normally is 15k. The 7500 for scan is a discount you get when you pay 150k for antenatal. It's pricey true true. I've done scan for 2k before in a small hospital in ikorodu one time and I saw the baby just that the olan scan truly looks like a machine . smiley

How did you confirm his diagnosis anyway? By persuasive compassion? All hospitals are taking new cases in all departments, especially govt hospitals because sicknesses other than Covid exist and there are centers for Covid not them!

He only showed us on the scan that the distance between the cervix and the baby is short and that due to the nature of the last miscarriage where the baby came out on its own after some pain that the cervix is probably weak. That was his explanation. But with what you've said, we are not far from ayinke house. Will breeze in tomorrow to see if we can see someone in the private wing there. Thank you but if you know any hospital where we can get a second opinion either government or private or where we can get the procedure done if needed, I'm open to suggestions. This forum is more useful than using Google. Thanks a lot for your response. Appreciate it.

Congratulations. Did you say pricey? I say damn expensive. Cerclage na BTW 150k to 200k. Did in County hospital during my time. But I did say you should just carry your leg to ayinke jejely for everything plus antenatal and born. If not for lasuth I for still dey carry Belle miscarry up till now. They are good with gynecology. Forget all these private hospital smile. They are nice so you will pay your money.

I will have to visit ayinke house for the procedure but will probably do the antenatal and other things with olan . Last I tried someone said they said they are receiving only emergency patients due to Corona virus . Hospital hopping isn't easy but if not for today, none of the previous doctors we saw told us the cervix was short/ weak and a cerclage would be needed . Thanks for the advice

Good afternoon, so we went to olan hospital today recommended by ohemababy on this platform and we saw Dr soyoola. He took his time to explain and I actually saw empathy in his words though he told us to buckle up for some pain cos of the huge sizes of the fibroid. He told us if we want to pray, we should pray to deliver safely with grace of God and not just praying against the fibroid . He also explained the technicalities. However he said we need to do a cervical cerclage operation which they want to charge over 300k for. Their antenatal is 150k and doesn't cover scan. Scan fee during ante natal is 7500 per scan. Today we paid 20k for consulting and another 15 k for the scan making 35k. It's pricey but he seems to know what he's doing and he takes his time to explain the technicalities in a simple way. So baby is fine though the fibroids are above it.

Please is there anyone that has done this cervical cerclage procedure before and can you recommend where you did it and how much . Some said ayinke house can do it . Mind you the 300k olan is charging doesn't include the two days admission for the procedure and all the tests required which may easily take the costs to 400k. I can use them for the antenatal cos I like the doctor and their staff seem nice but I need a second opinion on whether I can do the procedure elsewhere. Thank you.

By the way today was the first time we saw the baby dancing in the scan. It was very exciting.

What make the bolded stand?

MBA schools all over the world have one form.of international accreditation or the other. The top three accreditation given to business schools across the world are EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB. Many of the best business schools have at least one of these three at least for their MBA programs to ensure that the standard is at a particular benchmark compared to other schools . Having the three doesn't mean the school is the best as some schools in America focus on the AACSB which accredits business schools. The EQUIS is more Europe focussed and accredits business schools too and is focussed on diversity and other factors. The AMBA focuses on accreditation of MBA programs . If you have the three, that's called triple accreditation and is used as an excellent marketing tool.

Back to your question, Pan African university the owners of Lagos business school have both AMBA and AACSB accreditation. That's a major step as for years only south African universities and few other universities in Africa had any one of these three accreditations. Also if you have attended a course, seminar or program at Lagos business school, you will know that the ambience and delivery method is excellent.

Only pan African university which owns Lagos business school has a sound MBA program that has international accreditation. All the other schools on this list don't have world renowned and accredited MBA programs. I can't speak for the other post graduate programs from the other universities but you see MBA in Nigeria, if you can afford it , just to to Lagos business school or wait till you have enough money and go to other top business schools in Africa or other parts of the world .

@lyoncrescent please disregard this.
Im also hospital hunting and these were recommended.
Went to both places today and couldn't see gyne. St. Ives gyne closed at 1pm due public holiday but 4pm on regular days and Deseret's gyne only consults on Fridays undecided
I'd be interested in hearing your review of Olan, if you did visit today

We couldn't make it today but we would go to olan tomorrow. I think the key thing for me and my wife is not just the hospital but the experience and competency of the obn/gyn consultant that we are going to see. Not everyone of them is experienced in handling high risk pregnancies even though it's all in the hand of God you want the best care. Olan said we will be seen by Dr Emmanuel soyoola. I checked him out and he seems good. Nothing exceptional that most consultants in Nigeria don't have but I prefer someone who also has empathy.

I remember when we had a miscarriage at over 9 weeks last year at mother and child near omole, I feel we didn't get enough empathy or information or counselling. It was tough and the consultant we saw there later told us that the best thing is to remove the fibroid even though they were not conclusive that the miscarriage was caused by the fibroid and we had been assured that the fibroid won't trouble the child. The bill for the operation was 900k which we were ready to pay but my wife was such in an emotional state that operation wasn't an option . The funny thing is we saw our baby in the ultrasound and the doctor at mother and child said all was fine, an hour later she was in pain and the baby literally came out on its own when she was coughing and stretching in pain. After counseling somewhere else and all, we got pregnant again and here we are. I'm not an expert and I'm sure the doctors did their best but I didn't feel there was enough empathy especially for my wife. That's why we are Searching. All in all,I'm not running down mother and child just sharing my experience and I recognize some of these things are the will of God and no matter how expert the doctor is, God's will will be done however when God's will is done, medical practitioners should show empathy and counselling especially when you literally saw it come out. It is well. We stay strong and we carry till full term.

For Christians in the house, Exodus 23:26 New Living Translation (NLT)
26 There will be no miscarriages or infertility in your land, and I will give you long, full lives.

please don't go to mother and child. Isalu hospital is better. I've never used Govt hospitals so I can't help with that

Thank you. I find it interesting you said I shouldn't go to mother and child. Two other people outside this forum also didn't recommend mother and child . Their new branch near omole phase 1 is big and looks state of the art but I have also had a not so good experience there last year however I thought my case was an isolated one. Thanks for your advice. I will check isalu but someone here recommended olan medical center at adeniyi Jones ,it seems to be new and the person said they handle high risk pregnancies well cos my wife has three large fibroids and we are about 9 weeks pregnant.
I also googled the medical director and he seems to have practiced in the USA before starting up olan last year so I'm hoping standards are going to be on point .i pray he will be good nevertheless I will come back to give a review .Thank you once again.

I know this may be off topic but can you clarify something for me. Now that Abuja is the capital of Nigeria and the FCT ministers are appointed over Abuja, I observed that most of the FCT ministers are often from the north except the first FCT minister. You can clarify this however my main question is when Lagos was the capital of Nigeria, was there a role for Lagos minister in a role similar to the position of FCT minister either in the military or civilian governments and if yes there was such a role , was it predominantly for southerners same way FCT minister is predominantly for northerners ? Thanks. You can respond on your diary. I follow you and will get the notification.

I have 2 fibroids which caused me some pain and discomfort as they grew with the baby. I checked into the emergency twice when the pain was unbearable and was giving stronger pain relief injections. Outside that, i was prescribed Diclofenac which I probably took 3 or 4 times. I am 35 weeks now. My doctor has said because of the fibroids, I will need to have CS which has been scheduled to happen in a few weeks. So your wife should be fine.

Good evening. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We pray and we hope and it's always reassuring for me and my wife when we hear people's experiences as it strengthens our belief. I'm grateful.

For the fibroid I know another hospital that are specialist in that aspect.

These one is a more pricey though but they are very specialist in fertility.

You can check both out.

Thank you . I'm grateful. Will check them out.

Good afternoon everyone, please can anyone recommend a good hospital for antenatal and delivery in Ikeja and its environs. My wife is just seven weeks and we currently see a specialist in Ikeja in his clinic which closes 4pm daily but we want a Government hospital as options. Th specialist recommended mother and child hospital omole but my family says Government hospitals are better . My wife has fibroid too but they said it's not going to be an issue.please you can also recommend a private hospital. Thank you
Family / Re: Why Do Nigerian Women Endure Abuses In Marriage? by Lyoncrescent: 3:18pm On May 21, 2020
The question of choice on who to marry is a critical one. Once you choose wrongly, oyo things. However I believe women should not endure any form of abuse either physical or mental and men too should not endure it too . They should leave when they can. However people stay for different reasons. I know a woman who was verbally and physically abused by her husband for years however she bore it all cos of her daughters. Her impression was that she doesn't want anyone who will marry her daughters to see them marrying into a broken home and she used her case to pray and counsel her daughters on the need to makethe right choice. Funny enough the husband was nice to his children and met all their needs and educated them to the highest level.I dont support this type of endurance cos she could have died in between or get an incurable disease cos the man was also cheating.

Long story short, the moment her last daughter got married, she left her husband the same week. Different people have different reasons they do what they do

His relationship with the NSA will also be one to watch out for and finally how will he relate with Aisha . His CV is rich, I hope he has the mental discipline to perform . Like I said In a previous thread :

When pastors speak of current happenings of COVID-19, I always want to know if it's the Holy spirit that ministered to them or if they are speaking from their own research based on their own understanding. If it's the Holy spirit, then let us have them on record because the holy spirit I know is accurate and doesn't commit errors. If it's research based however based on their carnal knowledge, then I think we should actually leave it for the experts in that field and those are the ones we should listen to when it comes to pure scientific research instead of Google researchers who just cherry pick and patch up information

Goovo:
for your info, Npower has really touched lives.

For your info npower has gulped over 150 billion naira . We need institutional things that will stand the test of time not tokenism for a minority. If the 150 billion was used to build additional hospitals ; one day myself or your self will access the hospital. It's institutional and will last for generations. If the billions for npower was used by the FG to directly intervene in public primary schools by equipping them, paying teachers well and good teaching environment, then maybe one day myself and yourself can then send our children to public primary schools ; that's institutional. However FG will say primary school is under local government so they won't do that however they have no problems spending 500 million naira daily on primary school feeding program. As a nation now, we need long lasting institutions and not tokenism. Millions of children will lose their futures forever because of poor or no education. Thousands have died due to poor health system. I personally don't know anyone who would have died if there was no npower or no surep or no youwin . Even those that collect conditional cash transfer, can it send their children to school ? Can it pay for adequate health care if it even exists ? Would you rather prefer an excellent public primary school your child can attend for free or 20,000 naira ? What if you have three children ? We need institutional investments not tokenism . I had to be thorough in my response so you understand where I'm coming from .
Politics / Re: Cash Transfer: We’re Scrutinising National Social Register – Senate by Lyoncrescent: 7:09am On May 05, 2020
I've never been support of all these kind of schemes. From sure p to npower to conditional cash transfer. All these schemes have gulped hundreds of billions yet nothing really changes. These schemes are supposed to be like the icing on the cake; an additional incentive to development efforts that touches people's lives directly. But in the case if Nigeria, we spend 70 percent on the icing and 30 percent on the cake. And in both scenarios, corruption eats into both efforts of the cake and icing . It's a sad situation
