Hey you guys, i just thuoght its imporrtant for me to answer a few poeple here who making some really funny aclaims, It is absolotely not true that that nairobi was built bu white people my thats pretty wild, i think that was davydalan. there was litterally no nairobi before inderpandence very few scattered buildings, alot of the buildings were built by kenyas first black Architect Mr David Mutiso, one of my personal favourites, he actually did most of the building in the cbd. And the myth that kenya is country run by foreighner, far from the truth. No one is denying that that indians have a gret presence in kenyas economt but the weathiest of kenyans are definately black. A few yaers back there was a list of the richest kenyans and you know what all the top 20 waere actually black , i cant seem to find it on the net. Anyway this is a list of the tallest building in nairobi and who owns them 1. Times Tower [New Central Bank Complex, ] 1 140 m 38 1997-The government of kenya yes the black governmeny2. Kenyatta International Conference Centre 5 105 m 32 1974 -The government of kenya 3. NSSF Building 103 m 28 1973-The funds in the social security fund of hard working bkack kenyans4. I & M Bank Tower 3 99 m 18 2001 Indian bank 5. Government Office Conference Hall 98 m 32 1972 The government of kenya 6. Provincial Headquarters 84 m 27 1982 The government of kenya 7. Cooperative Bank House 1 83 m 25 1981 a black kenyan bank 8. National Bank House 82 m 21 1976 a black kenyan bank9. Anniversary Towers 80 m 26 1992 black kenya Mr Biwott 10. Lonrho House 1 80 m 22 1990 The KCB pensions funds also a black bank11. Reinsurance Plaza 77 m 20 1982 A black kenyan insuarance firm 12. Uchumi House 71 m 21 1972 A bkack kenyan supermarket chain 13. ICEA Building 69 m 19 1981 not sure 14. International House 1 66 m 17 1971 Mr cuyrus Kirubi, a black kenyan15. Hilton Hotel 2 61 m 20 1969 American 16. Electricity House 60 m 18 1974 The government of kenya 17. Treasury Building 48 m 15 1980 The government of kenya 18. Union Towers 48 m 14 1977 not sure 19. Hotel 680 47 m 14 1972 not sure 20. Bima House 45 m 13 1973 The government of kenya If that is what you tell your self to make your self fell better , i fell sorry for you I can go on and on, let me leave it at that for today Next time get your facts straight I had to include race because it seems really important to some people, we in kenya dont look at the worl that way And arent there any nigerians out there who can speak against some of these people, anywy wasee wngu tuendelee |

Aki si hawa watu wana wivu, hebu tuendelee kupost hizo photos poa na kutangaza urembo wa nchi yetu, wenye wivu wameze wembe. Inanihuzunisha kuona Waafrika wasoamini kuwa other africans waweza kuweka nchi yao poa kama sisi. Tuendelee mbele. Hakuna black city kama nai, ni iliyo bora zaidi. |

Wow ignorant you are. What do you mean hunters. Kenyans are among the most educated black people anywhere, Kenya now sends more students to the US than even Nigeria. Go to southern africa and tell me who are the doctors the engineers the architects the universities proffesers etc. And most busineses are black owned. Blacks are more than 99% of the population. And why you pissing on Ghana while they have better quality of life than Nigeria and Kenya? |

@ damoche07. Thank you for your interest in kenya. Well travelling to Nairobi is no hastle at all, Nairobi is a major aviation hub and connected to many parts of the world. About the visa issue, it is also pretty easy to get one. Please contact the kenyan embassy in your country of residence or your travel agent for more details. There lots of great places to visit in kenya, you can stay in cosmopolitan nairobi or drive off to one of the many world class game parks. Or you can go to the beaches at the coast, go hiking in the rift valley or kick off at a lake side resort. You can even climb mt kenya. Im just trying to show you the many options available and my advise is to have an idea of what you want to experience. If u need more info id be glad to give it to you. Bon voyage. |

@ ndipe, Well its not that dreary, temparatures range from about 19-25 C for the most but can get quite low during the winter months ( july, angust) ,as low as 11 C during the day and single digits at night, but mostly the weather is pretty comfortable, you dont need anything warm and neither do you sweat. You should visit someday!! |

@ davidylan. Kenya is 90 someting percent black, then you have some indians and arab peole mostly at the coast. White kenyans are not that many, mainly of british origin and you will not find them walking around the cbd, they keep to the suburbs. The white people you see on the pictures are definately tourists. Kenya recieves over 2 million tourists anually. |

Oh men, there are many other urban centres in kenya where you can enjoy these mordern convinienses, there is eldoret in the rift valley with an international airport where thuosands of athletes come from all around the world to train in long distace running- this is the home of kenyan athletics, there is nakuru, a MAJOR touristr town with the famouse lake Nakuru with its pink flamingos, just a stones throw away from the cbd, then there is malindi where thuosand of italian call home, its a beautiful resort town by the cost. There is also the city of kisumu which is actually more mordern than mombasa, and many more. There is alot more to kenya than just nairobi, take a look at this web sity, you wont regret http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=469374 True there is a huge slum in Nairobi, but you have to understand something, Nairobi is also a very big city, its the biggest city between Cairo and Johhanesburg( by metro politan area) also many people like to overlook the fact that slums in the entire city occupy less than 5% of the entire lnad area. And yes nairobi is pretty westernised dressing in african attire is considerd backwarb, it is also banned in parliament |

@ ashkar. Well its sad that u feel unsafe in nai, but realy every big city has its own share of insecurity, And i am yet to hear of crime specifically targeted at indians. What i know is that it is totaly safe to walk in the city, very little crime if any in the cbd. Also most buildings are black, designed and owned, not placed by the white man as one claimed |
