@poster,
The place of prayer in a church cannot be overlooked
When a church prays, demonic activities are nullified
They are made helpless and the will of God prevails
The church will always have a 'judas' in their midst and a 'jezebel' as well
But when the church prayers, they are either converted or they leave the church

Salvation Story, Mo Ekiugbo

I honestly cannot remember when I first gave my life to Christ, as I had done this on countless times. Whenever I was in a church with my mum sitting next to me, as soon as the alter call is made, she would nudge me and ensure that I went to the front to receive salvation. I had done this so many times; I became tired of even being near a church talk less of being in it. In 1995 while I was in secondary school, a group of people came to my school from Royalties in Christ Embassy to talk to us about God, I remember being so inspired by seeing these young people going all out for God, I remember listening to Pastor Tokunbo Fowora (RIP) talk about her love for God. Hmmm, this really made me think. I joined the Royalties at my first opportunity in 1998, and then I gave my life to God proper in church during the teenager’s conference CETENA 1998. I was so glad to be amongst young people, taking the nation for Christ. I was blessed to be under the tutelage of Pastor Afolabi Oketunji, he was my first Pastor and was very instrumental in my growth as a Christian. I have also been privileged to have been under many great men of God since then, teaching me and helping me up along the way. I must say, I am so proud to be born again and to be called specially into this ministry. Thank you Pastor Chris for everything.

Spirit-To-spirit Communication – Sunday August 7, 2011 – Pastor Chris

I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons (Psalm 16:7).

In our opening scripture, David talks about his “reins” instructing him in the night seasons. This refers to the human spirit. He reveals the importance of listening to God’s instructions from within. The Apostle Paul calls the human spirit the “inward man” (2 Corinthians 4:16), while Peter describes him as the hidden man of the heart (1 Peter 3:4). This is because the human spirit is not visible to the physical eyes.

The Bible says in John 4:24 “God is a Spirit…” hence, we can only make contact with Him through our spirits. When He wants to communicate with you, He does so directly with your spirit, not your head or your mind; it’s a Spirit-to-spirit communication. This is also the kind of communication that takes place when you pray in the spirit – in other tongues; it’s a God-ward communication. Your spirit makes direct contact with God’s Spirit: “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him, howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries” (1 Corinthians 14:2).

Proverbs 20:27 says “The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.” Whatever instruction, leading or guidance the Lord seeks to give you, He contacts your spirit. That’s who He deals with; not your physical body or outward man. When the Bible says “And thine ears shall a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21), it isn’t talking about your natural senses, but your spirit.

No wonder Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:14: “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” So don’t be overly concerned about what’s going on in your outward man, and then lose sight of your real self – your spirit. Always pay attention to your spirit.

If you’re going to walk in health, prosperity and victory, you must initiate them from within. God has deposited in your spirit everything you require to live a successful and victorious life. So learn to look inwards, and live from inside out.

Confession

I’m conscious of the supernatural life of God that’s in my spirit. Therefore, I refuse to live by the dictates of the outward man, but by the guidance and direction unveiled to my spirit from the Lord. I live out the transcendent life of greatness, excellence and success inherent in my spirit, as I walk according to God’s Word today and at all times.

Don’t Look To Men; Look To God! – Saturday August 6, 2011 – Pastor Anita.

Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit (Jeremiah 17:5-cool.

It’s common to come across people who see their job or business as their source of livelihood. There’re the ones who brag about earning their living from their hard work. Some others look up to their wealthy parents or friends for provisions. There’s nothing wrong with hard work or getting help from your parents or friends. What is wrong however is to focus on them as your source.

Our opening passage describes the unfortunate and hopeless state of the one who reposes confidence in his fellow man as his source. On the other hand, it salutes the blessedness of the one who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.

You have to understand that God is behind every supply or provision that comes your way. Philippians 4:19 says “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Therefore as one who’s born again, look to the Lord and not to men for your needs. The Lord doesn’t want you trusting in the arm of flesh. He wants you to look to Him and His Word for your sustenance; depend on Him and live by faith in His Word.

The supply can come through any channel, for God is big and powerful enough to make something happen for you however He deems fit. But be smart and learn to give Him the glory, and never make the mistake of hanging your hopes on anyone but the Lord as your source.

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for teaching me to look to you and your eternal Word as my source, and not to men! Your Word is my life and I live by it today. Therefore, I’m like a tree planted by the stream daily bearing fruits of the new life in Christ; I’m moving from glory to glory, lacking nothing but having all my needs met according to your riches in glory, by Christ Jesus. Amen.

after he is gotten born again, the next thing is to lead him through what his new life in christ is all about
how to grow by studying, fellowshipping with God through prayer and also to teach him about the Holy spirit

1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

the truth is man is a spirit he has a soul and lives in a body, poverty is a spiritual state, if you are poor in spirit then you are also poor physically. why do people question the prosperity of the church? you want us to live in poverty. know it this day that to fulfill the commision that Jesus gave the church that is preaching the gospel to the ends of the earth, that will cause mega box, that is why we most prosper. the devil is sponsoring his own. God is defiantly sponsoring his own too in a bigger way

i agree with you
all these sucide bombers, sects, al qaeda fight for a cause and their methods are obviously not cheap
so why shouldn't the xtians spend good money on the spread of the gospel!?!

Power Through Your Hands – Friday August 5, 2011 – Pastor Chris

And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed (Exodus 17:11).

Our opening scripture refers to an account in the Bible where Moses told Joshua to take soldiers and go fight Amalek. Joshua did as Moses instructed, but as for Moses, he decided to go to the top of the hill, with Aaron and Hur whilst Joshua battled the Amalekites. As the battle progressed, Aaron and Hur made a remarkable observation.

Now, God hadn’t said to Moses to lift up his hands but Aaron and Hur discovered that every time Moses’ hands went up as they were on the mountain, Israel prevailed in battle against Amalek. But when His hands came down, Amalek prevailed. So it was about Moses’ hands. The victory-power for the children of Israel in that particular battle, as it were, was through the hands of Moses. In the twelfth verse, Aaron and Hur, upon noticing that Moses was getting weak, made him sit down while they both held his two hands up, one of them on either side until it was sun-down.

God’s people having the victory as long a Moses’ hands were lifted towards heaven reveals something quite significant about the lifting of our hands to the Lord. There’s a profuse effusion of divine power as we lift our hands in prayer and worship. No wonder the Apostle Paul said, “I would that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting” (1 Timothy 2:cool. So when you lift your hands up to the Lord and pray, you activate the heavenly powers and make them available in your behalf. And while your hands are still lifted high, you’ll begin to receive victory signals in your spirit.

Right away you may as well as well lift hands towards heaven and talk to the Lord in prayer. Worship Him from the depths of your heart, forgetting about yourself and whatever turbulent or challenging situation you might be in. Do this, knowing that your victory is inevitable as you worship and praise Him in the beauty of holiness, with your hands lifted high.

Confession

Dear Father, thank you for helping me through your Word and your Spirit to discover all you’ve deposited in me. I lift my hands to you right now in appreciation and acknowledgement of your wondrous love for me and great miracles in my life! I declare that the lifting of my hands would continually be to you as the evening sacrifice, as you lead me daily in triumphant processions, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

@poster,
well what you need to start with is a friend that will lead you to other friends
i had a case close to yours
i grew up in a family filled with love but i didn't know how to respond to love neither did i know how to give it
i couldn't share things, relate with people espeecially my immediate family
i couldn't even hug my mum or tell her i loved her.
i left for the university with this same life style and lived a lonely life despite the fact that i lived with my roomies
it was hard to relate to people until i met a friend that took me through step by step until today i'm now a much more better person
my mom is late now but i can boldly tell my dad" i love you". wow!!!
what a life!, i now have good friends and an irreplaceable family

now to this my friend, His name is Jesus, yes, the same one you've being hearing of.
once you believe in Him and accept Him as the Lord of your life, He'll turn your life around for good.
Believe me, Jesus works

Challenges: Your Opportunities For Victories – Thursday August 4, 2011 - Pastor Chris

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

1 Samuel 17 tells the story of the confrontation between David and Goliath. Before David arrived at the battlefront, the Israelites, for forty days, were continually harassed and taunted by Goliath. Indeed, Goliath, from the natural standpoint appeared invincible, not just because of his immense stature and intimidating amour, but his belligerence! He defied the armies of the God of Israel, and challenged them to a fight.

When David heard that whoever defeated the giant would be rewarded – he and his household exempted from tax forever – amongst other benefits, he rose up to the challenge. Rather than be intimidated by Goliath’s immensity, he saw it as his opportunity for a good aim with his sling. With one smooth stone, he fell the great Goliath of Gath whom he decapitated with his own sword, winning the battle for the whole nation of Israel.

While King Saul and the entire army of Israel were terrified at Goliath’s size, perceiving him to be an insurmountable obstacle, young David saw an opportunity for victory. When his brothers tried to shut him up and talk him out of it, he said to them, “Is there not a cause?” (1 Samuel 17:29). He saw an opportunity to win for his countrymen and went for it. This is the kind of mentality we ought to have as Christians. Many today focus too much on the obstacles that circumstances and situations of life pose to them, and lose sight of the opportunities for victory in that situation.

In our opening scripture, the Greek word translated “look” means “to consider, mark, or take cognizance of.” The scripture therefore means not to give attention, consideration or take into cognizance of whatever challenges or obstacles you might face in your fight of faith. Rather, see every challenge as bread. See obstacles as stepping stones for your promotion, for nothing can successfully stand against you, because you’re more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Isaiah 54:17 says no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper. Therefore see all seeming impossible situations as opportunities for your testimony.

Confession

I refuse to be moved by any seemingly impossible situation or be distracted by the immensity of any challenging circumstances. Rather, my attention is fixed on God’s eternal Word and power of the Holy Spirit as I walk through life with confidence, gamboling over adversities as the victor that I am. Hallelujah.

My New Life in Christ, Vona Jefia

I got born again as an undergraduate in University of Benin, Benin Nigeria. This was in 1989. A friend of mine called Chike, led me to Christ and invited me to Believers Love world Campus fellowship. I was in my second year studying Foreign Languages.

Prior to this, I was attending the Catholic Church and I was not fulfilled. When I joined the fellowship, I really didn't understand a lot of things but I loved the praise and worship sessions and church was more fulfilling. As I heard more of God's word and made friends with brethren, I began to grow spiritually. I also joined the Intercessory unit to learn how to pray.

One area of my life that was transformed, was my academics. It was a bit difficult studying a foreign language (French) and I struggled a bit. However, Academic excellence seminars were organised in fellowship and these seminars altered my perspective about my academics. As I learnt scriptures about success in my academics, I began to walk in the reality of what I had learnt.

My understanding was open and I actually began to have the mind of my teachers concerning every subject. I knew I could never fail because the inspiration of the Almighty gave me understanding. I had the Holy Ghost as my teacher, helper, counsellor and guide. That was my mentality as a student.

During impromptu tests, the Holy Spirit would tell me what to write. I always had an idea of what to expect during exams - thanks to the Holy Spirit. I excelled in every aspect of my school work and topped my class in several tests. I eventually graduated with a second Class upper division.

Refuse To Worry – Wednesday August 3, 2011 – Pastor Anita

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns once and for all] on Him, for he cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully (1 Peter 5:7AMP).

There’re people who have a proclivity for worrying; for them, worrying is a lifestyle. They’re often burdened about their families, jobs, money, and generally overwhelmed by the cares of this life. This isn’t the way of life for the Christian. Our opening scripture reveals God’s thoughts concerning you. He wants you to cast the whole of your cares – all your anxieties, worries and concerns on him – once and for all.

You’re not to surfeit yourself with the cares of this world, but to leave them at the feet of the Master. Don’t cast your worries on Him in the morning and take them back in the afternoon, or start worrying again by night time. You can’t live your life that way. Someone once said, “I worry a little bit about my problems and let God worry about the rest.” No, don’t worry at all! Cast all your worries on him. Whatever it is that bothers you, lay it down before Him.

Psalms 25:8 says: “Good and upright is the LORD:” which is to say the Lord is good, and He is to be trusted. So trust in Him and depend on Him solely and wholeheartedly to help you and put you over every difficult situation. It’s His pleasure to do this, for He cares for you affectionately and watches over you lovingly. He’s always mindful of you, not to destroy you, but to help you be all that He created you to be. He didn’t create you to fail, but that your life will be to the praise and glory of His Name.

The Lord is passionate about your victory and success more than you could ever know, and He has put everything in place for you to live joyfully and experience His glory everyday of your life. Yours is to trust in Him with all your heart, and do what the Word says and He’ll perfect all that concerns you.

Confession

Dear Father, thank you for the efficacy of your Word, and its ability to mould my character and cause me to live in ever-increasing glory, grace and victory! I rejoice greatly today because I know you love me dearly and rejoice over me with singing. Therefore, I go forth today without a care, trusting you absolutely to meet all my needs, and perfect all that concerns me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

He Needs Your Permission – Tuesday August 2, 2011 – Pastor Chris

Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18).

Have you ever wondered why we still pray, even though the Bible says our Heavenly Father knows what things we have need of, before we ask Him? (Matthew 6:cool. Well, the answer is in the Word. First, you have to recognize that man is a free moral agent, with the rights and the power of choice. God never enforces His will, purpose or choice on anyone. That’s where prayer comes in. You’d have to dialogue or commune with Him in prayer concerning whatever it is you need of Him, even though He already knows what’s in your heart.

It brings to mind the famous words of the dear man of God who said “It appears God will do nothing, except someone asks Him.” How true. He needs you to cooperate with Him to bring His will and His good pleasure to pass in your life. The principle is that two can’t walk together except they agree (Amos 3:3). You agree with God when you speak the same things He has said concerning you in prayer. That way, you side up with Him to have His Word come to pass in your life.

For example, in Ezekiel 36, God made great promises to the children of Israel to bless them, prosper them, make them great, and do a whole lot of wonderful things for them (Read Ezekiel 36:26-36). But in verse 37, He said something rather remarkable concerning all the beautiful things He said He would do for them: “Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them.”

Think about this for a moment. Despite listing all the wonderful things He said He would do for them, He ended by saying they’d have to pray to Him for them to happen. What is God saying here? He’s letting you know that even though He wants to do great things in your life, you have to give Him the express invitation to do so.

Though God speaks prophetically in His Word of the great and glorious things He wants to do in your life, it’s your responsibility to ask for those things of Him. If there’re things in your life that you want changed, then go ahead and give the word! Until you do, nothing will change. God will only endorse for you the change that you’ve permitted.

Prayer

Dear Father, I take a stand against evil forces over my family, job and business. I declare that your mighty hand rests upon me, and upon my household and all that concerns me. I take advantage of your Word today, to deliver to me prosperity, success and victory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Appreciate Others – Sunday July 31, 2011 – Pastor Chris

LORD, who may enter your Temple? Who may worship on Zion, your sacred hill? Those who obey God in everything and always do what is right, whose words are true and sincere, and who do not slander others. They do no wrong to their friends nor spread rumors about their neighbors (Psalms 15:1-3 GNB).

When you read or hear about people through the news media, it’s possible for you to have all kinds of ideas about them. But it’s important you don’t form opinions about others based on what you read or heard about them in the news.

In many societies today, it’s easy to find negative news published about the leaders because they’re always in the spotlight. But not everything written about them is true. I learnt a long time ago never to believe such stories but to act like Jesus: “…and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears” (Isaiah 11:3). You don’t have to be in the same place with some of these leaders or have a relationship with them before you appreciate them. Appreciate them for their work.

1 Thessalonians 5:12 (AMP) says, “Now also we beseech you, brethren, get to know those who labor among you [recognize them for what they are, acknowledge and appreciate and respect them all] – your leaders who are over you in the Lord and those who warn and kindly reprove and exhort you.” One of those things that have come to us – everyone of us – as a gift from God, is the ability to appreciate people; to like them, love them, and genuinely appreciate them.

Learn to see others through the eyes of love and cherish them more for who they are and the good things they do. Don’t believe all that others say about them. Have the necessary assumption that others are good and nice; start from there, and then let them be the ones to create their own images.

Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for showing me in your Word a more excellent way to live. I make a deliberate choice today to appreciate the good in others and never sander or believe the rumours others spread about them. Thank you for helping me achieve this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

what would you say about this:

Title: Get born again or i disowned you

I gave my life to Christ in the year 2003 in my jnr secondary school, i had a school mother who was a member of BLW who had tried severally to lead me to Christ but all to no avail. One day she warned me that if i don't come to fellowship she'll disowned me as her school daughter, i went just to please her but that was the day i gave my life to Christ and received the holy ghost.
