Hello good people. I am building on a swampy land (though not all that swampy compared to ajah and some other places). In constructing the foundation, we dug the ground, filled it up with gravel mixed with cement. Then I set two planks, cast it and later laid 3 layer blocks then cast two planks again. Now, I am done with sandfilling and plan to begin to build. Please, are there alternatives to german floor as this appears way too expensive for my building plan. Guys who have built in the area didn't do german floor and they aren't having any flood-related challenges. Please advise me on the danger of not doing german floor and what alternatives are available to me that I can use. and if you have any useful link or information you may wish to share with me, my email address is macbroomy@yahoo.com. Thanks a lot

Dear all, I need a rough estimate of the amount it would cost to build on a half plot of land that is swampy (not too swampy, though). Already, I have done raft and begun sand-filling. I sand-filled half of the 3 bedroom apartment and just started filling the other part due to financial constraint. In the process of sand-filling, I noticed part of the blocks used the foundation work have detached from cast. I asked some skilled bricklayers in the area and they said it really wouldnt affect the foundation and that it could actually be fixed. I need general advice on what it would cost to complete the building and the precaution I need to exercise while completing the building. Thanks for your professional advice and guidance. Regards

Good morning, nairalanders. Please, can someone in Ibadan confirm to me, if it's true that elders in Moniya are reclaiming land already sold out to interested buyers? I bought a plot of land in Moniya but haven't gone to check on it in like a year now. I have tried to reach the guy that usually keeps a watch on it for me but his number hasnt been reachable lately. Does anybody know anything about this? Thanks
