Spanish giants join Liverpool in monitoring Bukayo Saka By Admin Martin - 13 May 2020, 22:30 A report from Nigeria cited by TeamTalk is claiming that Valencia has become the latest team to be interested in Bukayo Saka. The teenager has been one of the standout performers at Arsenal this season, but his current deal with the Gunners is set to expire in the summer of 2021. Arsenal has been in talks with the player’s representatives over signing a new deal. But it has dragged on for quite a while now and teams have begun plotting a move for the winger. Several reports have linked Liverpool with a move for him as they look for another left-back to cover for Andrew Robertson. The Reds have now been joined by Valencia according to the report in All Nigeria Soccer. Saka is of Nigerian descent and the news from his father’s country is claiming that Valencia has an interest in signing him. The Spaniards aren’t the only non-English team who have been credited with an interest in his signature as Borussia Dortmund are also prepared to pounce if Arsenal cannot agree on a new deal with him. Saka has been inspirational for other youngsters in the Arsenal academy as his rise has given them hope that they can also break into the club’s first team if they show how good they are[[ |

Bukayo Saka Is So Nigerian – Agent Reveal
Saka’s Love For Super Eagles
May 14, 2020
The international future of emerging Arsenal teen
star Bukayo Saka will no doubt pitch the senior
national team of Nigeria against that of England
in the nearest future, Owngoalnigeria.com
reports.
Saka has enjoyed a breakthrough season at
Arsenal where he has seriously impressed playing
either as a left winger or as a left full back
despite the fact that the team has struggled to
match expectations this season.
18 year old Saka is one of the few bright sparks
of the team before the lockdown that brought
football to a halt due to the coronavirus crisis with
Arsenal in 10th position with ten more games to
go this season.
Established as a youth international for England
at several levels, Saka is however still very much
connected to his roots with his representatives
confirming that he is a big fan of the Super
Eagles and he is very proud of his Nigerian roots.
” Saka for those who know him will tell you that
he doesn’t hide the fact that he is a Nigerian and
he is proud of it. The national team of Nigeria is
one team that he follows very well and he
watched all of their games at the World Cup and
also the Africa Cup of Nations. He so Nigerian
and also love the Super Eagles “, his
representatives told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Although he failed to be dragged into any
conversation about the international future of the
18 year old insisting that there are other priorities
that needed to be sorted out before a decision
will be taken on that.
” For now it’s not an issue. The progress of the
player is what everyone connected to him is
focused on. He will play football at international
level and that is all I can say at the moment “. |

No More Bribe For Invitation To Super Eagles
Team – NFF Chief Boast
May 14, 2020
A top chief in the Nigeria Football Federation
( NFF) says the days when players pay to get a
slot in the senior national team of Nigeria is well
and truly over as the present board has nipped
the practice in the bud, owngoalnigeria reports.
The revelation made by former Schalke 04
forward Chinedu Obasi has led to several issues
surrounding the practice of cash for spots after he
revealed that he was asked to pay before he will
be included in the team for the World Cup 2014 in
Brazil.
His revelation was also backed by other players
with the likes of Emmanuel Sarki, Taiye Taiwo
and Brown Ideye also confirming that they had to
leave the team due to issues not related to what
happened on the pitch of play but rather finances.
Reacting to the statements made by the players,
the NFF Chief said they have successfully
nullified the practice and that that right now no
player in the team was asked to play money
before getting an invitation and none paid to be in
the team.
” Maybe it happened in the past, I don’t know but
one thing I know is that it’s not happening now.
In the Super Eagles every player you see there
merit his spot. Their performance for their
clubside brought them in and none paid a dime to
be invited and none paid to be in the team. As a
board we have been proactive in that regard “, he
concluded. |

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that
Dutch giants Feyenoord are lining up a move for
highly-rated Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke.
Feyenoord, who finished third in the cancelled
Eredivisie season, have already started planning
for the summer transfer window and have
targeted the league's top dribbler, Ejuke.
Feyenoord have held preliminary talks with the
player's camp to find out SC Heerenveen's asking
price for their top scorer but no official bid has
been tabled at the moment.
The former European champions face the
prospect of a bidding war for Ejuke as he has
received offers from unnamed clubs based in
China and United Arab Emirates, while French
Ligue 1 teams have been keeping tabs on his
progress in the Netherlands.
Ejuke's ability to play as a winger, attacking
midfielder and striker would appeal to his
numerous suitors.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a breakout season in the
Eredivisie and TOTO KNVB beker, scoring 10
goals in total in both competitions while producing
six assists in 29 appearances.
The former Valerenga Fotball man has roughly
three years to run on his contract with
Heerenveen. |

Former Nigeria international defender Taribo West
has given his take on the current defenders in the
senior national team of Nigeria under the tutelage
of coach Gernot Rohr.
West who played for Nigeria from 1994 to 2003
rated the defenders in a telephone conversation
with Owngoalnigeria.com. In his statement Rohr
presently has five good defenders to select
from namely William Troost-Ekong, Semi Ajayi,
Leon Balogun and Kenneth Omeruo.
” The coach is blessed to have a whole lot of
options in key area like defence. Now the
challenge is to find a way to use them for the
good of the team which is most times not easy at
all”, he said.
” Balogun to me is still very relevant. He can play
from the back with ease. Read and intercepts
play smartly. Among the present guys he is the
only one who can move into the opponent’s box
with the ball at his feet with confidence. That is
no doubt a plus as it allows the offensive players
to move deep into the opposition’s half .
” Ekong has really grown in the past few years
with the way he moved from Belgium to Italy in
less than two years. There are still some grey
areas in his game but in terms of consistency he
is one of the guys who has been there for club
and country. So he is to me the leader in the
defence.
” Omeruo is solid but not really the kind of a
player who can lead the defence. The two years
in Laliga has really helped him. I love his
performance at the Africa Cup of Nations and
hope to see him perform at same level in the
national team.
” Awaziem is a centre back that has a lot in store
but he really hasn’t deliver in central defence for
Nigeria but at his club he is solid. Let’s say
playing as a full back in the national team has
boosted his confidence, maybe he can now push
for a central defence spot.
” Semi Ajayi is the man of the moment. Confident
and very imposing. His aerial strength is the best
in the team from what I have seen so far. He
looks the best fit for Ekong in terms of what they
both offer but Balogun has done well with same
Ekong in the past. It’s a nice headache to have
as a coach”, West concluded. |

Ebere Eze Is In Talks With Rohr – Family
Member Denies Using Nigeria To Alert England
May 4, 2020

The international future of Ebere Eze has for long
been in the air with the England youth
international constantly linked with a switch of
allegiance to Nigeria but that hasn’t happened till
date.
Despite training with the senior national team of
Nigeria in 2017, the midfielder who has excelled
this season at QPR is yet to fully come clean on
his international future insisting on more time to
make a decision.
Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria
Gernot Rohr has long said he will love to have
the midfielder in his squad but in his words he
want players who are eager to wear the colours
of the senior national team of Nigeria.

A source close to his agent told
Owngoalnigeria.com that he is using the interest
from Nigeria to alert England as he is yet to filled
in his paper of switch of allegiance to FIFA.
Although he accepted to watch the botched
Nigeria against Sierra Leone AFCON 2021
Qualifiers game as a special guest.

Reacting to the story, a family member revealed
the 23 year old is in talks with Rohr and reports
of using Nigeria to attract the attention of England
are wide off the mark as he isn’t that type.
“Not true” says a close family source. “He is in
regular contact with two close friends in the
Super Eagles and their coach”.
That might be the case, but Tami Abraham is the
nephew of the Nigerian FA President but still
opted for England.
“True” said our source. “But ‘Bere isn’t Tami”. |

Ovie Ejaria 2019/20 – scout report
March 13, 2020 0
After re-joining the Reading ranks on a season-
long loan in the summer of 2019 from parent club
Liverpool , Ovie Ejaria has found himself at home
by playing regular minutes at the Madejski
Stadium this season. Mark Bowen has played the
22-year-old for a total of 2714 minutes in the
Championship alone and this has allowed the
youngster to flourish. His performances certainly
haven’t gone unnoticed as the loan deal also
includes a permanent move in the upcoming
summer.
In this tactical analysis , in the form of a scout
report , we will look at Ejaria’s strengths and play-
style and do an analysis to see why he is vital to
Reading’s tactics .
Overview and style of play
Ejaria has played the majority of his minutes in a
4-3-3 formation (41.27%) . Here, he is deployed
as a left centre-midfielder with the license to
move across to the left-hand flank, as shown in
the heatmap below. However, he has been used
as a left attacking-midfielder and as a central
attacking-midfielder this season.
Ejaria’s Championship average heatmap
In this Reading side, their midfielders are crucial
to their transition from defence to attack, as they
play progressive football that focuses on
transitioning through the thirds of the pitch. This
style of play suits Ejaria perfectly and helps boost
his strengths, as I will now go on to analyse.
Ball-carrying qualities
One of Ejaria’s biggest strengths is his immense
ability to wriggle out of tight situations with his
great ball control. This allows him to attract in
opponents and free up spaces across the pitch for
his teammates. Statistically speaking the
Englishman’s effective dribbling qualities are
showcased by him completing a massive 6.43
dribbles per game, with a high 58.3% success
rate. He ranks 9th for most dribbles attempted
and 30th for his dribble percentage in the
Championship this season. This might not seem
like it is a fair ranking but if you factor in how
many dribbles he is attempting then this is a very
good position for him.
This proves the sheer quality that the Reading
star has equipped. A similar player to himself in
terms of 1v1 ability would be Kazenga LuaLua
who ranks 18th for dribble percentage (62.4%)
and 10th for most attempted dribbles in the
Championship. Ejaria has only attempted three
more dribbles this season than the Luton winger.
West Bromwich Albion pressing Reading into the
corner but Ejaria slips away and finds the open
space
In the example above West Bromwich Albion have
attempted to suffocate Reading on the far left
side of the pitch, by three players closing Ejaria
down. However, Ejaria uses his silky skill to split
them through the middle and get out of danger.
Furthermore, by escaping past three players with
ease it allowed his teammate, Andy Rinomhota to
attack the space in the middle of the pitch.
This benefits Bowen’s Reading side as Ejaria’s
dribbling qualities allows him to break the press
of the opposition. Even at the height of six foot
he still has great balance and flair that can see
him bypass the pressing opponents and exploit
the gaps left by the opposition.
Ejaria picks up the ball in a tight area where
Reading are outnumbered and he exploits the
high defensive line
Reading’s tactics of playing out from the back will
usually attract a press from the opposition to try
and force a turnover in Reading’s defensive third.
This style relies on players who are technically
proficient and press-resistant, Ejaria ticks the
boxes for both of these attributes. This is
emphasised in the picture above, as Ejaria picks
up the ball in-between a five-man press. The
midfielder then plays a through ball down the line
to his teammate due to him attracting players on
the left-hand side.
As proved above, Ejaria is exceptional at finding
vacated space, attracting defenders for his
teammates to utilise or being able to draw fouls
under pressure from the opponents. As stated
before he has a high success rate for dribbles but
to take his game to the next level he will need to
be even more efficient, at times he holds onto the
ball too long when he could release the ball
earlier to set off a counter-attack, small things
like this need to be minimised to progress.
Passing trait
Ejaria is often positioned in the left-half-space.
This area on the pitch offers the highest amount
of threat in an attacking situation and gives him a
number of options to play. Due to Ejaria being a
right-footed player on the left-hand side of the
pitch, he mostly will drift infield but he can still
drive down the line which keeps the defender
guessing on where he is going.
Ejaria is surrounded by four Queens Park Rangers
players but he stays composed and plays a
through ball to George Puscas and Sam Baldock
When he floats inside to the middle of the pitch,
he draws defenders to him and this allows space
for his teammates to exploit. We can see in the
picture above where he has driven past Queens
Park Rangers midfield and attracted the QPR
defenders to step up out of position. This allowed
Ejaria to slot a ball through the middle of two
players and create a big chance for his team.
Ejaria goes past two Cardiff players then crosses
the ball into the danger area
In the next example seen above, Ejaria has opted
to take on his opponents out wide. He sees that
both of the defenders are flat and left a gap in-
between. He excellently shifts the ball one way
then the other to get past them and then he
supplies a cross into ‘the corridor of uncertainty’.
However, this is an area of Ejaria’s game which
needs improving as this season he is only
averaging a success rate of 34.5% for crosses
per game.
Shooting style
Having a right-footed player on the left-hand side
allows the option for them to cut inside or drive
down the line, this leaves the defenders guessing
where they will go. Ejaria does exactly this, by
hugging the sideline which stretches the
opponent’s defence. When the opponents are
compact he can play down the line as there is
more room for him to roam. However, when the
defenders are spread across the backline it gives
Ejaria space to come inside and threaten from a
more central position. This is perfect for Ejaria as
he often looks to get a shot off on his right foot
by cutting in from the left-hand side.
Ejaria’s 2019/20 Championship shot map
In the picture above, it clearly shows Ejaria is far
more comfortable from starting on the left-hand
side then cutting onto his right foot. All of his
goals have come from the left segment of the
pitch and the majority of his shots on target are
also from this side.
The Luton defenders drop off Ejaria, this allows
him to curl a shot across goal
In this example above, it shows the Luton
defenders don’t want to get touch tight to him as
he could go past them down the line. However, by
giving him that extra yard gives him enough time
to whip it across goal and beat the keeper. Ejaria
is an unpredictable player and this makes him so
hard to mark.
Conclusion
Ejaria is shining in this Reading side with regular
minutes. Ejaria certainly has the technical quality
to play a level above but there is a question mark
whether he can increase his rate for goals and
assists, as he is only on three goals and four
assists in the Championship this season.
However, Ejaria has been one of Reading’s most
outstanding performers this season and he still
has a few more years before hitting his prime.
The big question now will be, will Liverpool regret
letting him go? |

Eberechi Eze: 6 Things to Know About QPR's
Rising Star
ByRobbie Copeland
16 MAR 2020
Every now and then a player comes along in the
lower echelons of English football, and you know
they're going to be something special before they
even kick a ball in the top flight.
There's no denying that QPR sensation Eberechi
Eze is one such player, and it's easy to see why
Tottenham have elbowed their way to the front of
the queue to sign him up this summer.
But what's all the hype about? What kind of
player is he, who else is interested, how much
will he cost, and what other ultimately useless
trivia is there to know?
Well calm down, one question at a time. 90min
have answered every query you might have and
then some - take a look.
Style of Play?
Eze catches the eye as a tricky playmaker
capable of the impossible with a ball at his feet,
but as much as he loves to entertain, his silky
style of play comes a few misconceptions about
his game. His nonchalant aura and the ease with
which he plays the game betrays his underlying
work-rate - there is no denying he complements
his unrivalled natural ability with an exemplary
attitude and desire to get stuck in.
Players with the highest average of successful
dribbles per game:
1️⃣ Ovie Ejaria - 3.2
2️⃣ Said Benrahma - 3.1
3️⃣ Eberechi Eze - 3
4️⃣ Bright Osayi-Samuel - 2.8
5️⃣ Grady Diangana - 2.3

Primarily a central player, he does his best work
in a number ten position, but is more than adept
in occupying the wide areas and terrorising full-
backs with his pace and skill.
Shades of James Maddison
'The next Wilfried Zaha ' is a tag often slapped on
Eze, but as favourable as that is, in truth it's a bit
lazy. The similarities between the two, though
striking, are superficial: south London raised,
skilful attackers, Nigerian heritage.
You don't have to dig too deep beneath the
surface to see that a more fitting comparison is
with Leicester star James Maddison . At 21, Eze
is the same age as Maddison was when he made
his breakthrough with Norwich City in the
Championship, and the similarities between their
coming-of-age campaigns are startling.

What's more, Eze's QPR are currently performing
at more or less the same level as Maddison's
Norwich (13th in the Championship vs 14th) while
the fees involved - £22m for Maddison and a
reported £20m for Eze - are equally comparable.
He's Done it the Hard Way
It has been no fairytale rise to the top for Eze.
Prior to joining QPR, rejection had become the
norm; no fewer than five clubs (more on that
shortly) had said 'thanks but no thanks' by his
18th birthday, and as recently as 2016 he was
preparing for a job at Tesco.
“I honestly have no idea what I would have
done,” he said, as per the Independent. “I didn’t
like anything at school. Even P.E. was a drag.
When my agent told me I had a trial at QPR I just
thought: ‘I have to get in’. There was no other
option.”

He's certainly made it count since joining the 'R's
anyway, and at the risk of jinxing it, it looks a
pretty safe bet that he has a career in the game
ahead of him now.
He Has an Arsenal Past
One of those clubs who said no? Yep, you
guessed it: Arsenal.
He was released by the Gunners at just 13 years
old, and went on to dot around London with
Fulham, Reading and Millwall before joining QPR.
Rejection is no new concept to the resilient Eze,
but he admits the Arsenal release hurt the most.
“It started at Arsenal, I was 13 [when I was
released]," he said. "That was the worst one. I
remember crying in my room for a solid week, my
mum telling me that it’s going to be OK but not
being able to get over it.
Then I went to Fulham and I was finally starting
to enjoy my football again. We played Arsenal a
few months later but, when I went over to shake
the academy manager’s hand, I started welling
up. All the feelings came back.”
Tell me that's not a superhero origin story in the
making...
England vs Nigeria
England and Nigeria like a tussle over a player or
two. Tammy Abraham recently snubbed the
country of his paternal parentage to register his
eligibility for England, and it seems like Eze will
have a similar decision to make down the line.
He's yet to be capped by either at senior level,
but although has featured for England three times
at at Under-21 level, he has trained with the
Nigerian senior pros, and is eligible for the Super
Eagles through his ancestry.
This one might be worth England pursuing sooner
rather than later...
He's Good Enough for the Top Six
That's according to QPR director of football Les
Ferdinand, who admits he had to reject several
offers for Eze in January - but expects interest to
re-emerge in the summer.
The former Spurs striker said, per Football
London : "It's going to be very difficult. When you
have a player of his quality doing well in your
team nobody wants to see him go.
"I had to fend off a few offers in the January
window and, I'm sure if he continues to play in
the manner he is playing and adds a few more
goals to his game, I'm expecting us to get offers
in during the summer.
"I think if you look at his ability, I see him playing
for one of the top six sides,"
High praise. As for the offers, it's unclear where
exactly they came from, but Chelsea, Crystal
Palace, Sheffield United and West Ham have all
been credited with an interest at one stage or
another. |
