So many junks cars that I see on the road.. I was in Nigeria for a whole mouth... too many junk uber /taxify cars.. I took one 06 corolla ,. The shocks were gone, bushing, a / c was not sharp at all ...
Mr man, there are lots of very very good cars including tokunbos that are being driven on 25k rental weekly depending on ur agreement with partner. All partners are not like you. Just say you dont know so we can educate you. You need to be on the field to see for urself. I think the problem with you is that you think you know too much but unfortunately you know nothing. Just like someone did say the last time while quoting one of ur senseless posts that you are an empty barrel and you make the loudest noise. In addition that you also don't have first hand info about this business and i absolutely agree with him unequivocally. So the yardstick for knowing junk cars is through bad suspensions bah forgetting that these cars are always on bad Lagos roads 24/7. If you force ur drivers to be remitting 35k doesn't mean others don't do 25k. Same you said no trustworthy drivers on Nairaland same you telling guys here that you will buzz them. Onye apari

Not for a vehicle of 7 months old(almost brand new) , forget naija roads, a Toyota made in 2018 just 7 months old would not have a shaft issue in 7 months.
Nooo u didn't understand the guys post. He's didn't mention that the car is a 7 month old car bought brand new car but a tokunbo car that is 7months old on naija road o. Pls go back and read the guys post again

You miss my point.. Nigerians will not patronise each other. They feel they too smart, like at OGATAXI .. How many of you guys patronise them? This is a local business ,maybe if people decides to patronise ogataxi, uber will sit up and do better and make it competing for everyone to enjoy... what about ivonson car manufacture company ? How many of you guys buy their cars? Even Ghana and other countries buy from them
What you have just outlined in the foregoing should start from you. Why don't you set the ball rolling by buying all your ehailing cars from innoson instead of running after oyinbo civic. Be the first to do it at least you won't die

The car should not be having shaft issues at all . Especially if it is tokunbo.. My 2003 civic that I sold recently ,never had shaft or leg issue at all .. And the car was on uber for more than two years ... maybe corolla are not strong as what people make it to be ..
I really do not understand what u guys are trying to say here. So why can't the shaft pull or is the car damage proof? Dont you know the state of our roads and style of driving. A car that is being driven on these very bad roads at least 10hours/7 days a week will definitely develop one problem or the other and shaft is not exempted. Why do you people believe so much in tokunbos like this. A car that is over 14yrs old on the road before landing in Nigeria.

Dru23 you also mentioned that ur civic was driven on this same roads we ply everyday for two good years without any leg issue not even minor. So you want to tell us that during those times the civic was driven on these Lagos roads that no linkage, absorber pad, bushings, low arm or even brake pad sef wasn't replaced in the vehicle? You lie too much and it's unhealthy.

Why change the narrative, we are talking about rental here. Even at that, the drivers doing 35k and above including repairs on hp have you bothered to know if they have a life outside ehailing? You are currently doing 30k and u feel your body needs more stress challenge and u wanna do 35k. Moreso, the reasons you adduced for wanting to leave ur current partner is not cogent enof for me to believe that you arent one of those drivers who dont pay rentals and work 24hrs without rest and also enjoy moving from one car to another after it has been wrecked under a month which is evident from the earnings on the dashboard you posted and by the way which sensible investor/partner will want to lose a driver who is assiduously committed to his rental payment and has never defaulted? If you were on a 9 to 5 job and earning big will you quit because your boss is abusive and nags. Lastly, I seriously do not know where you got this wrong assumption that all the cars deployed on ehailing doesnt have catalyst.
Don't mind that guy, we know their type. Hes jux trying to gain cheap popularity on Nairaland. Go to Chevron drive and Admiralty way na their permanent site be that. 24hrs on the road yet they will tell partner story.

After driving for abt 5hrs...earning a ridiculous fare amt of N5157... Its unimaginable...
I drove marina to iganmu in some hold-up...and charged N502.. And many of sort..
Dis is not fair nah.
Upon all..enter lastma trap again..charged me 5k if i dnt want to go to deir office.
..plz house i xrive on Uber..maybe i shud port to bolt.. Is d price ok on bolt.
Im angry as i dey so..

Welcome to the club! Combining uber with Bolt is good but might not necessarily boost ur earnings the way you want it but will surely reduce waiting time for request. Some drive on just one app yet they cash out massively and will even be buying a car before month end. I suggest you contact OmoJesu2020 for more insight and coaching cos uber is so good to him and better than bank job. he knows all the tricks and earns more than Dangote and Otedola .

I'm no more Uber agent, no more fahresz, no more saka earner, now I'm the dru23.

Well done frustrated elders

Nobody is discrediting you and for what na! I have read ur posts and I can't see any sense in them. You dey make millions and so what? Uber is ur alpha and omega and without it there will be no you. You need to prayerfully liberate urself from this uber mental slavery. Just know it that what an elder sees sitting down a 22years old ponpon carrier cum uber driver will not see it even if he applies all the sakamanje and lockito while standing on an iroko tree. So just shut and drive so that you dont go back to mixing of cement and granite. We know ur type very soon you will fizzle out.

Abeg make una help me. my car Honda civic 2006 has been behaving funny lately. Car becomes very very heavy on the ground and sluggish when ac is on and the fans are working but lightens up as soon as thermostat stops the fan and becomes heavy again as soon as fans starts working again. This issue gets worse in slow moving traffic and I hv to match down the throttle very well most times for the speed to increase. My mechanic has checked plugs and coil and fuel pump serviced but it persists.
Rpm flunctuates and when it goes below 500 the car will want to off when idle or in traffic.

I see how pathetic your life is.. you weren't forced into it and I never told you I was desperate on e-hailing. The car just seems idle often times hence my consideration. moreover since you are a pro & not a desperate driver, you should have just ignored and when you ever buy one with your money, give it out for free. I'm less concern.. peace
Oga, am a boss of my own, I run my own business I own my own car ok. stop saying you aren't desperate about ehailing. If the car is idle often times then why not give it out on full rental instead of trying to mortgage and shortchanging someone's future. There are other businesses you can venture into asides ehailing cos its not for people like because I see in you an Idi Amin who will stop at nothing to frustrate innocent drivers and in return they will brutally come for you. Just continue las las na fence you go hang come dey Siddon look

the painful part is, riders will be disturbing you to hurry up on a bad road,
But I believe doing proper maintenance on time would Hv saved you from changing both shocks,. embarassed
Oga, no vex o can you please tell us how proper maintenance on time can prevent shock absorbers from leaking consequently going bad given the very bad roads in Lagos. Have you seen where shocks are repaired apart from the ones Ladipo boys gassed and later sold to unsuspecting customer. So you don't know that shocks hardly last 4months especially when the car is being used for ehailing by constantly putting the vehicle under uncontrollable stress of bad roads.

I am around akoka, have a corolla for delivery. 25k weekly payment and Sundays car stays with me inspections and off. If you find it achievable for you. kindly quote.. Thanks
Oga its obvious you you dont know about this work and you are not serious and ready for business yet. you need ask questions before venturing into ehailing biz. Must you deploy ur car on uber since its obvious that's your only car. is it Sundays that most drivers meet up that the car will be parked at ur place for inspection if I may borrow ur word. so inspection now takes a whole day and what are you inspecting Mr inspector? So you don't know that Sunday alone can give a hardworking driver money that he didn't make the whole week. Rental fee at 25k won't entice any serious and experienced driver except newbies and desperate ones because drivers that even drive better cars that are tokunbo are remitting 20k sef.

You’re totally mistaken man. I’ve taken at least 500 rides and I have successfully contested and won every cancellation fee caused by driver not going my way.

This life is not hard. Driver not going my way, I tell driver to cancel, if he refuses and I’m charged, I contest it immediately.
This happens a lot at the airport. I’d rather take airport cab and pay double than be at the mercy of an Uber driver.

You say what, 500 rides? oga let's see proof! And who says Uber doesn't pay drivers the cancellation fee even when you contest it and they also contest it. If truly u are a regular rider on Uber which I know is a lie because you dont appeal to me as one cos u are bereft of how this things work. Why wait for drivers to cancel when you as a rider can easily cancel within 5mins and you won't be charged maybe you are just displaying your arrogance and smartness as a broke ass rider not knowing that drivers are king and some day sometime you will be at their mercy.

Stop shooting yourself in the leg. If you give a rider 1 star. The app will never pair you together ever again.
Bros, that's untrue, u will only not be paired with same rider if rider is requesting you again after you have ended trip but subsequently riders request will pick you. Situations where you will not be able to be paired with same rider again in the event of a misunderstanding is if you the driver or the rider makes a formal complain to Uber through writing.

Business wise, Cooladex did the right thing .

After loading his boots with items at the detriment of his shocks, the fare won't even get to #1500

And considering the time and the area(Alagbado), there is no probability of getting a trip outta there.

Imagine driving through the nooks and crannies of Alagbado with load, ending the trip to see #1500 and blowing empty back to Ikeja. I don't think that makes sense
Couldn't agree with you more. I have followed ur posts on this platform assiduously and I can unequivocally state that you are well grounded in the knowledge of this business, not all drivers even old ones understand how this business functions. its not always about the money to function properly in this business. Why will I embark on a trip to Alagbado with my vehicle heavily laden with wedding gifts coupled with problem of bad road at that time of the day when I know I won't get a trip back.

My point is it pays to look or treat things in a good/easy prospective.

Great man Gazzuz, I drive a Honda Civic 2006. First one is this, when my car is pulling to complete halt it jerks slightly. Could this be the transmission trying to return back to 1 and why the jerk.. Transmission oil is dark upon checking.

Secondly, my fan and compressor in very hot afternoons when am moving will cut and will not cool again thereby blowing only inner fan for like 5mins before it will pick again. This doesn't happen in the morning and in the evenngs only in very hot afternoons when the engine is very hot. note thermostat still cuts and picks perfectly but fan won't pick when it cuts in extremely hot afternoons.

Lastly the back side of my vehicle bounces as I move slowly not too fast particularly and very obvious on rough roads. I was advised to change all four shocks including linkages which I have done yet the problem persisted . pls what's the solution?

That's why people still assume and come here to cry low request yen yen yen.

I purposely said till 3pm and the eventual wise driver negotiated for 2hrs and we took less. He saw opportunities where you see challenges. Anyway if what am doing pans out, same journey will repeat every two weeks, while the 'careful wise' drivers will keep loitering at Isaac John, Admiralty and Freedom way. Enough said.
How does all of these change the price of one derica of garri in the market. If they loiter all through the day and all round Lagos na your concern. Abeg shift let's see the living.

Forget these lazy driver way full here abeg, entitled lots they are. They will just be complaining of request up and down but will fail to make best use of the little opportunity available to them. They do not know that opportunity when is comes, does look like challenge.

This morning, I posted a not so attractive trip. Not because I can't easily get an Uber or a taxi to take me/us there, but because I want someone here to just benefit from what I wanted to do today, that's why I used brother in my post.

The guy that picked me today, we just booked hotel for him sef, him no fit drive go house, that's aside the money he made. And it continues till Thursday when he will drop us at the international and local airport respectively. But a lot of people passed it by because it's not what their lazy imagination wants.

A lot of drivers in Uber and Taxify are phucking entitledled; Fahrenz and dru23 we're right after all.

I must confess that you are very stupid sir. This is one of the most useless and irrational posts have read on Nairaland. In fact I strongly suggest that you visit Yabaleft as soon as you are back for mental accessment. Does ur system run on some cheap Niger Delta kaikai. How could you label drivers on this thread as being lazy simply because they were not out to take you to that god forsaken place that you and you cronies went to. Did you bother to know if the offer and timing was good before coming here to conclude. Without the input and experiences of these drivers you are calling lazy you won't be here to paint them black. There's no gainsaying the fact that requests is on the decline now but it doesn't translate to one being forced into embarking on what won't pay him. So 15k trip is an opportunity to you ba? Did you know how many drivers on this thread made double that amount today? I think you are one of those irrational and entitled car owners that play god to their drivers. For the records, what will work for Driver A might not work for driver B. You put the driver in an hotel so kini big deal.
