FisifunKododada:
cool This is a basic idea. All you are doing is giving people permission to use your internet account. You get your wireless account from a company and you can access that account by logging in with a password. However, other computers/laptops/phones can have the same internet access if these devices are close 'enough' to your modem. This is easily achievable if these devices are in the same building or block as the modem. Of course you don't directly hand over your password to the users rather you get the permission from them to access their devices remotely and then you can log them on into your network.

You clearly misunderstood this post!

Science/Technology / How To Turn Your Laptop To A Wireless Cyber-cafe And Make Money by MAHEEEDA(m): 9:10pm On Jan 12, 2016
Do you know that there are many ways to make money and get rich quick? Take for example, you are living on campus and cyber-cafes around are not much or are very exorbitant. All your mates have no where to browse and do their assignments, except at cyber-cafes.

Now, how can you have a laptop and all you do all day is to sit right there, watch movies, play music, watch p00rn like you don't care (for the addicts) and the likes of it? Can't you find something better doing? Well, this post will teach you something that will change your life forever! This alone should signal something smart in your brain (except you are a blockhead, lol).

In this post, you'll be learning HOW TO CONVERT YOUR LAPTOP TO A WIRELESS CYBER-CAFE AND MAKE MONEY FAST!

Things You'll Be Needing

1. A Laptop

2. Updated WIFI Drivers

3. Compatible Wireless Card (almost all wireless cards are supported, except Samsung and Asus)

4. Connectify Hotspot Pro (Cracked Version) - DOWNLOAD LINK: http://www.datafilehost.com/d/32f72731

5. ARP Miner - DOWNLOAD LINK: http://www.datafilehost.com/d/c8cd4c52

FULL TUTORIAL

After going through the above requirements and you are eligible for this, then proceed to download the softwares above (Connectify and ARP Miner). NOTE: Install Connectify before ARP Miner. After installing Connectify, a restart is required. Choose, "Restart Later". Now, from the Connectify folder extracted, open the Activator folder. THIS IS REQUIRED. Once open, read the HELP text file included for proper instructions. Failure to do this will result in program crashes, etc. Once done, you are now good to restart!

After restarting, install the ARPMiner. The job of ARPMiner is to protect the wireless network you'll create with Connectify with a billing system, so that users pay and get login details (tickets) to browse, on a limited time. After installation, launch ARPMiner and make sure Connectify is up and running. You need to make sure TekpSpot.exe is allowed in your firewall from the ARPMiner Program Files folder which is the proxy/DNS service used. It is recommended that you temporarily disable your firewall, till all is done.

Now, it's time to create new users, using the ARPMiner. The screenshot below explains how:

Once done with the above step, DO NOT close ARPMiner.

Navigate to your settings tab within ARPMiner. You'll see NAT. Click on it and configure it as follows:

For Public Network, choose your current modem/internet connection

For Private Network, choose the wireless hotspot connection earlier created by Connectify.

Once successful, the next step is to run the ARPMiner. Click on the play button located at the extreme down-right side to run the program. See image below for help.

After that, use another PC (you can borrow if you dont have two), and connect to the wireless network created by Connectify earlier. Once connected, try opening any webpage in browser and you'll get a login page. That shows that the ARPMiner is working.

Now, login with the username and password you created earlier. Once the time assigned to that username is exhausted, it will simply log the user out. This way, you can assign one hour to one user and charge him/her any amount you like.

Hope this article helped! Why not share it!

NB: I did not know how to post screenshots here. I would have loved to, but there are really confusing.

Residents of Ajegunle area of Lagos State, have reportedly shared bitter experience during this year’s Christmas eve celebration.

Diamond Report reveals that the Christmas celebration was low key in the area because of clashes among suspected cult groups and armed robbers who also took advantage of the development to rob innocent residents of their cash, mobile phones and other valuables.

It was gathered that cult clash in the Ajegunle area is almost becoming a daily occurrence but Wednesday night cult clash was worse as the cultists fought with cutlasses, axes, bottles and other dangerous weapon, leaving many streets littered with broken bottles.

Religion / 10 Things Christians Should Not Do During Christmas by MAHEEEDA(m): 2:41pm On Dec 25, 2014
Ah, Christmas! “The most wonderful time of the year.”
A time to gather with family and friends and, with smiles on our faces, pretend we aren’t quietly measuring who received the best present and which of our relatives really, really needs to stop drinking.

A time to hang tinsel and baubles from the tree, and time to hang up our hopes of losing that last 10 pounds this year.

Such a joyous season!

The real point here is that Christmas is what we make of it.

For Christians, however, there are some very specific things you can’t do if you want to actually honor and follow the person we say we celebrate this season.
So, I give you my “10 Things Christians Shouldn’t Do At Christmas.”

As with my other “10 Things” lists (which are linked at the end of this post), this is not intended to be a complete list, but it is a pretty good start.

10) Celebrate Consumeristmas
For many people, Christmas starts with standing in line on Thanksgiving Day.

‘Tis the season for mass consumerism.

Regardless of where you personally think Christmas began, Christmas has slowly drifted into the bog of consumer madness.
Like frogs in a pot of slowly boiling water, we never saw it coming.
For Christians, this is particularly problematic because the guy we are celebrating this time of year told us that collecting stuff here on Earth is not the way to follow him. (My apologies to Kirk Cameron whose seasonal movie wants us to believe otherwise.)

9) Forget Those Without Food
Jesus once said that when we feed the hungry we are feeding him.
Anyone want to guess what it means when we ignore the hungry?
How about forgetting about hungry children and their families as we scrape the leftover Christmas ham from our plates into the trash?
Maybe we need to change the name of the season to Gluttonousmas? Too many presents, too much food – too little consideration for those in need.

cool Forget Those Without Shelter
No room at the inn.
One of the key moments in the story Christians celebrate is the moment when Jesus was almost born in the streets of Bethlehem.
Our need to clean up the Christmas story assumes that the innkeeper told them to use the manger but the Bible says no such thing. There was no room at the inn, leaving Mary to place her newborn child in a smelly feeding trough.
For that night they were without shelter.
Throughout his life Jesus would spend his ministry with no place to lay his head.
This time of year we celebrate a homeless man.
Do our actions, do the places we spend our money, honor that?

7) Forget About Immigrants
We three kings from Orient are. . .
Besides sounding like Yoda wrote a Christmas carol, there are a number of things messed up about that line.
First: We don’t actually know how many there were.
Secondly: They were magi, not kings.
Finally: We also do not know where they were really from other than “from the East.”
What we do know is they were foreigners and their revealing of the king’s plans to kill all newborn boys in hopes of putting an end to Jesus turned Jesus’ family into immigrants in Egypt.
Our Christmas story is replete with images of people journeying to new lands. Because of it, Christmas should cause Christians to recommit to embracing immigrants.

6) Miss The Message About Resisting Abusive Power
Mary and Joseph and their family had to flee their homeland because King Herod strong-handedly used his power to squash out what he saw as a threat to his power.
I can guarantee you two things: One, in the house where Jesus grew up, the narrative of why they had to flee to Egypt and of the senseless deaths imposed on other families by the powerful was a story that was told time and time again. Two, the focus on abuse of power in Jesus’ teaching and his constant willingness to confront it was no accident.
Christmas should cause Christians to recommit to confronting those who abuse power.

5) Forget Those Without Presents
If you have two coats give one away.
In announcing the coming of Jesus, John the Baptist told us what God was asking of us. Coats were just an example – a placeholder if you will.
If you have two Christmas presents give one away.

4) Insist Your Religious Celebration Rule Them All
This time of year far too many Christians remind me of Gollum and his Precious. (A LoTR shout out in a Christian Christmas post! C’mon Peter Jackson, give me some promo love!)
One holiday to rule them all: “We nee-eeds it. They stole it from us!”
Never mind that Jesus was Jewish or that there is a list of other celebrations that occur this time of year, there’s a certain cultural privilege in the air that seems so very un-Christian to me.
You can just about bet that the folks calling out for the dominance of Christmas with shouts about what they think is a “war on Christmas” would be singing a new song if Judaism were the dominant religious culture and this time of year radio stations across the land played Chanukah songs.
Technically, they would be singing a new song – not just metaphorically.

3) Get Mad About People Saying “Happy Holidays”
To those who get upset about folks saying, “Happy Holidays,” rather than, “Merry Christmas”: you know what “holiday” is short for, right?
Holy day.
Do you really have a problem with people calling Christmas a holy day?
Nah. Of course you don’t.

2) Think That It Is Actually Jesus’ Birthday.
Um. So… dang, this is hard.

I’m really sorry to be the one telling you. Um, let’s see.
Remember how when you were growing up the Sunday school teacher told you Christmas was Jesus’ birthday?

Yeah.
Well, um… they lied.
Yeah. Sorry about that.

We don’t actually know when Jesus was born. It was probably in the spring or summer because “the shepherds watched their flocks by night” – something which typically didn’t happen much in the winter in that region. Not to mention they were returning to Joseph’s hometown for a census, which is something that would have probably been done during warmer weather.
Want to celebrate the fact that Jesus was born? Ok.
Want it to actually be on his birthday? Good luck with that.

1) Confuse The Religious Observance With the Secular Holiday.
It may be that December the 25th was picked as the date to celebrate Jesus’ birth to compete with or even to adopt the followers of the pagan celebration of Saturnalia, which included decorating with evergreens, gift giving and parties.
Hmmm, why does that seem so familiar?
I bring this up to make a simple point, i.e, BE OBSERVANT OF THE SPIRITUAL ASPECT OF CHRISTMAS, NOT JUST THE EATING AND DRINKING!!! grin grin

Have A Very Happy Xmas Tho tongue tongue

Science/Technology / 7 Lessons To Learn From Facebook’s Acquisition Of Whatsapp For $19 Billion USD by MAHEEEDA(m): 12:24am On Dec 25, 2014
The news broke on February 19, 2014 that Facebook is acquiring WhatsApp for a whopping 19 Billion US Dollars- yes, that’s a B for the Billion! – $12 billion in stock, $4 billion in cash, and an additional $3 billion in restricted stock units to WhatsApp’s founders and employees.

So what makes an app with 450 million active users across the globe more valuable than companies like Expedia ($10.2B), Red Hat ($11.1B), Hertz ($11.5B), American Airlines ($12.3B), Xerox ($13.2B), Harley-Davidson ($14.1B), Symantec ($14.4B), Marriott International ($15.4B), and others?
The deal was in the making for over 2 years. Mark Zuckerberg (founder of Facebook) and Jan Koum (Co-Founder and CEO of WhatsApp) spent several dinner, treks, and phone calls to finally come to a decision about the merger. Funny thing is, Koum agreed to the acquisition on Valentine’s Day by interrupting Zuckerberg’s family dinner.

7 Things You Can Learn from WhatsApp about Building a Valuable Company

#1: Revenues are not the only thing that matters. It’s the value you bring to the table
Going with the numbers, Facebook will need 20-40 years to make back the amount they paid to WhatsApp. However, they still took the risk, went ahead and acquired the product.

The reason for the acquisition is WhatsApp compliments Facebook’s mobile strategy perfectly. With over 450 million active users, a stick rate of 70% (more than 62% of Facebook, which itself is pretty high), and a growth rate faster than that of Facebook, Instagram, Skype, or Gmail (WhatsApp is adding a million users every day), it was a no-brainer deal for Facebook.

Takeaway:
Companies are valued based on not just how much revenue they are generating, but on the value the company will provide the acquirer. Your business audience does have immense value- whether they explicitly give you money or not.

#2: You fail several times; but in the end, you succeed
It’s interesting to know that WhatsApp co-founder, Brian Acton, was rejected a job offer from Facebook and Twitter. He failed in converting a job offer that would have made him millions.

However, the rejection didn’t stop him. He co-founded WhatsApp and made a cool few billions. How’s that for “an offer you can’t refuse”?

Takeaway:
Point is, you’ll feel defeated many times. You might lose contracts, customers might not pay you on time, or you might end up not generating any business at all for a while. The good thing is, if you keep pushing, there’s a brighter side of the story waiting to unfold.

#3: Focus on your customers; everything else is secondary
When WhatsApp was founded, the founders focused on their users rather than on generating revenues. They ensured that the app was clean and simple to use. No ads ever! Here are some of the other highlights of the app.

Cross-platform availability: WhatsApp was available for almost every platform out there. They were not limited to smartphones; Feature phone support was one of the major driving forces that led to its adoption in countries like India.

Ease of account set up: If you have ever used WhatsApp, you’d realize that it does not involve complicated account sign up process. It uses your phone number for verifying and authentication. Talk about making the barrier of entry so low.

Takeaway:
Is your business customer-centric or your business-centric? When you make your customers the top priority, everything else falls in place automatically.

#4: Stay lean

WhatsApp has less than 50 employees (of them 32 are engineers). For a company that fetched a valuation of 19 Billion US Dollars, by normal standards, the employee count sounds absurd. But WhatsApp showed the world that it’s not the employee count that matters, its passion and focus (hiring 1 smart person instead of 10 mediocre ones goes without saying here).

Another company that comes to my mind is plenty of fish- with under 70 employees and several million dollars in revenue ($10 million as of 2008).

Takeaway:
With technology being so advanced, there is no more excuse for you to not stay lean with your business. Every kind of task, if it’s repeatable, can be automated; there’s a good chance there is a SAAS product out there than can help you with your requirements while staying lean during scaling up.

#5: Less Limelight; More Focus
In many countries, business owners seek to get the limelight (especially start-up founders). They spend more time attending conferences, networking, and giving gyaan (advice), than getting work done. However, WhatsApp is different. According to sequoia, the sole investor in WhatsApp

From the moment they opened the doors of WhatsApp, Jan and Brian wanted a different kind of company. While others sought attention, Jan and Brian shunned the spotlight, refusing even to hang a sign outside the WhatsApp offices in Mountain View. As competitors promoted games and rushed to build platforms, Jan and Brian remained devoted to a clean, lightning fast communications service that works flawlessly.”

Takeaway:
Stop chasing the limelight. Focus on your business and let others find you.

#6: Get the pricing right
WhatsApp pricing is interesting. It does not charge users for the first year. If you want to continue using the service after the first year, you need to pay 1$/year.

It’s interesting because it gets people to use the product for free. Once they get hooked to it and understand the true power of the product, they are made to pay for continuing the usage.

What’s even better is that the pricing per year is an absolute steal. At 1$/year, and considering all the communication is free (you need to have a data plan though), it’s much more cost effective than SMS or calls. Talk about ROI!

Takeaway:
While WhatsApp could afford to give away the product for free for the first year, your business needs to find a similar way of getting your customers to experience your product or service by lowering the barrier for entry.

It’s often a bad idea to give away things for free- especially when you have huge overhead costs (unlike in WhatsApp’s case). You need to innovate and find an angle that draws customers to your business and let them try you out for the first time (combo offers, partnership with related businesses, pay for performance, etc are good things to try out).

#7: It’s OK if you don’t have a marketing budget; heck it’s better if you have none!
WhatsApp has spent 0 dollars on advertising or user acquisition. They don’t even have a marketing person on-board. Talk about growing a company with user focus and not based on spending VC money.

Takeaway:
When you don’t have a marketing budget, you tend to innovate. You don’t fall into the trap of buying ads and seeing what’s performing the best and not getting enough time to build and ship better versions of your product.

That being said, it’s not always possible to not spend on marketing and gain businesses. Spending money on marketing should be seen akin to using nitro boost. With ad spend you should be able to jump ahead a few years.

Had WhatsApp used advertisements or marketing techniques, they might have reached here faster- probably would have taken then 2 or 3 years instead of 5.

Conclusion
All these being said, you should not get overly obsessed with how another business achieved success. Some strategies might work, while others might bomb for you.

Your business is unique and what works from WhatsApp might not work for you. The idea is to take inspiration for WhatsApp’s success and try to implement it in your business. Be lean and move fast. If something is not working, move ahead with other strategies.

Over to you
What do you think is the best take away from this acquisition? What business strategy do you think works for you vs WhatsApp?

Merry Christmas!!! grin grin grin

Education / Easy Ways To Stay Awake While Studying At Night (FOR STUDENTS) by MAHEEEDA(m): 3:10pm On Dec 24, 2014
There are many easy ways to stay awake while studying at night, but students in higher institution of learning and secondary schools hardly notice it, hence, they ignore this simple and easiest life style that can help them stay awake to study at might.

Its already scientifically proven that students who study at Night tends to understand more than those that study during the day. Here is Four Easiest Ways To Stay Awake While Studying At Night:

Drink a Lot of Water
When you’re trying to stay awake waters the way to go. Dehydration can make you sleepy, so keeping your body hydrated will stave off those symptoms. If you are really sleepy, drink a lot of water to make sure you stay up. If you have to get up to go to the bathroom, it will definitely keep you awake! by water I don’t mean alcohol or coffee because it may contain water)

Take Breaks
Your brain is a complex thing but it still needs rest if you want to study hard for a long time as well as doing the best you can on your test. Schedule out your time so you can take a break try a study routine for 45 minutes, break for 15, and so forth. Set the alarm on your mobile so you don’t forget (or if you’re afraid you’ll fall asleep). Watch a TV show, talk to a friend, read a book, or listen to some music but nothing school related at all, even if it’s a TV show.

Exercise
Exercise can be a great way to wake yourself up take a short walk, dance to some music on your iPod (without waking up your roommates or your parents depending on where your living and the time), or head over to the gym for a little while. Taking a shower after a workout can wake you up even more (cold will wake you up but shocking the body’s never good so just a general shower). Don’t Study Somewhere Comfortable No curling up into a nice ball on your pillow with soft music playing the background will not help you stay awake, maybe heavy metal rock will but its better just to sit on a chair back straight lamp on and revise, no pillows, no comfortableness, when your body wants to sleep yet you have to fight it comfort ability should be what your actively seeking to stop.

Eat a Snack
Get your blood sugar up by eating a healthy snack (junk food will just give you a burst of energy but then you’ll crash and collapse for 7 hours, wake up and realise you didn’t do any revision). Apples are always a good food to help you keep your blood sugar stable so you can stay awake (a lot of people say they will wake you up better than caffeine and hey its also one of your 5-a-day).

Crime / Man Arrested For Having S*x With A Goat by MAHEEEDA(m): 11:32am On Dec 24, 2014
Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly having s*xual intercourse with a goat at Baranda forest in Dutse Local Government Area.

The 20-year-old boy, Malam Kamisu Baranda who was arrested by the village head and handed over to the police after asking the goat to have s*x with him.

Kamisu who was said to have admitted to being the owner of the goat explained it was not his first time of having s*x with animals inside the bush that he has done it over 10 times and as never been arrested.

Kamisu who seem to enjoy having s*x with animals made a shocking revelation that the animals satisfy his s*xual desire hence his reason for not being into women and making love to any woman in his area.
He said he regretted his action saying he knew it was an offence to a society and against the Islamic injunctions, he called on the court to do justice for him.

The chief magistrate’s court sitting in Dutse ordered boy, Malam Kamisu Baranda be remanded in prison for two weeks. Magistrate Auwalu Sani Balago said the accused person did not confess that he committed the act but the court remanded him to allow police make further inquiries.

What on earth is wrong with these Hausa men? From marrying underage girls to having s*x with animals?
