Op first you need to read. The more you read the more you get better in argument. Read about mathematical tools that has been used in decision making, learn the parameters. Then study the walrasian equilibrium theory in detail. Then see how you can apply the theory to optimize these parameters with good argument. Use google scholar. This article would help.
