Pls house, Does UKVI always attach rejection letter to collection email if visa was refused? Someone said that's what they have been doing in recent times. |

18 million naira is about 33k pounds. This is enough for a deposit on a house (about 15 % deposit if you're buying a £200k house for instance). It is not enough for an outright payment for a property even a flat. The major problem would be you securing a mortgage from the bank. It's not all about your deposit, several factors come into play: 1) the bank will want to prove the source of your deposit and make sure its not laundered money. If he money was not made in the Uk, difficult to prove 2) the bank would want to see your source of Income- job etc. If you're a student, might be difficult 3) proof of immigration, if you have a temporary visa ie not permanent residency or British citizenship, banks will view you as a risk and interest rates would be much higher. In all, I don't believe in discouraging people, speak to a trusted mortgage advisor for further advice. JaySterling: |

Pls experts in the house @justwise and Co. If I have my biometrics on 4th January, can I submit bank statements from 30th November (bank statements are printed at the end of the month) on my self service portal? Or is it better to wait for my December bank statement to be released to make for the 31 day rule for bank statements? |

Hello everyone, I live in the UK and am trying to apply for my parents to come and visit for 2 weeks early next year. Ages 62yrs/72yrs, both are self employed and own businesses in Nigeria. I will be fully sponsoring both of them but was told I would need to include their own account statement also. Problem Is both use their business accounts for transactions, they don't pay salary into their personal accounts, they withdraw from the business accounts instead for their personal use. Both business accounts are fully registered with CAC and have tax returns. My question is can I submit the business accounts on their behalf? My own account statement will be used as proof of funds. |

Wow. I'm shocked that your visa was denied even when maintenance was ticked on COS. Because it usually states 'maintenance for applicant and any dependents if applicable'. Regarding the issue of money logdement in account, why don't you print out your bank statement in such a way that the opening statement starts from when the adequate money required reflected in the account. A few days or weeks of patience will go a long way. Naiobi: 2 Likes |

It's been 11 days since I did my biometrics and submitted my documents at TLS. The TLS tracker shows received by UKVi but I'm yet to receive any email from UKVI decision making center in Sheffield confirming receipt of the application and saying it's been prepared for the ECO. Other times, I got the email from Sheffield within a few days of biometrics. Should I be worried? Or could the Christmas break be affecting the process. Anyone in my shoes? |

Hi @jennyhumphrey @justwise and any other experienced person here. I want to apply for tier 2 visa for myself, hubby and kids. I have a query regarding my first child's birth certificate. She's 4yrs old now, but I got her NPC birth certificate about a year ago when she was 3 yrs old. Prior to this time, we used her baptism card as proof of birth (it was gotten when she was a month old and contains her names and the names of us her parents). I read that late birth certificate (over a year after birth) could raise eyebrows. Note that my other child [sub][/sub]got her birth certificate within a year of birth. I have sworn an affidavit in the high court stating that I'm her biological mother, and that the NPC issues birth certificate to children between 0 to 18 years. I'm planning to include her baptism card, birth certificate, immunization card and the affidavit in her application. Pls do you think it's okay? Or should I just submit only the birth certificate and pray no issues are raised? The visa fees are to expensive to risk a rejection. Pls prompt advise is needed here. Thank you all. jennyhumphrey: |

adegoks1234: I didn't put academy cos academy is not accredited for visa issuing basis as plab visa is not a student visa. To avoid Wahala. Also if you mention academy, you should have much more money in your account as your stay is longer. What most doctors do is, if you're finally issued for 6 months, you can travel earlier and attend the academy in person, but if you're given a shorter duration visa, you can do an online academy course. A lot of doctors are mentioning academy these days and are still being given visa. Sometimes it backfires, most times it doesn't. But you must have a lot of money in your account to mention academy. Start planning early more than 6 months ahead for the visa. Tidy your account. You should have more than twice or thrice the budget for your trip in your account. If you don't have enough money, look for a sponsor. I know someone who had about 900k in his account and was given. He did not have a sponsor. He earns about 250k monthly. Put his monthly expenses at 65k monthly... and budgeted £800 for the trip of 4 days. Note that £800 is about N400k. So the trio cost less than his 2 months salary. It all depends on the ECO. Visit www.naseersjourney. for more details. It caters specifically to plab. Nairaland was helpful to me also cos it dealt with the peculiar problems of Nigerians. So go through the pages thoroughly. |

@gazalito @bogolobango I applied for a business visa for plab exam I submitted the following documents: Reason for travelling: - short cover letter explaining why I need to travel to write the exam-plab 2 is done only in the UK. No other place. - email from the body inviting me for professional exam - email congratulating me for previous step exam pass taken here in Nigeria - educational certificates (ielts, university degree certificate, certificate of registration with professional body in Nigeria, nysc certificate) Finances. I sponsored myself. So I submitted : -Letter of introduction from my employer stating my position, start date of job, salary after tax and any bonuses entitled to, duration of leave , reason for leave, date of resumption at work - 6 months salary slips - 6 months bank statement. Only credits came from my salary to avoid unnecessary explanations. I put all my savings in my salary account prior to the 6 months to avoid unnecessary explanations too. So I presented only one bank account . Previous travel history. I had been to the UK about 5 yrs ago on a student visa for a short course, so I submitted the certificate issued to me after the course. - photocopy of previous passport with the tier 4 UK visa issued then. And the bio data page - I also visited the UAE with my husband a few years ago, so I also put a phocopy of the stamps on my previous passport and the bio data page. Domestic ties back home. In my cover letter I explained that I was able to save a lot of my salary over the past few years because my hubby was the main breadwinner of the family who took care of our family expenses. - marriage certificate - wedding pictures -children's birth certificate - 3 family pictures of hubby, me and kids - photocopy of my husband's international passports bio data page - letter of introduction from hubby's employer stating his salary for past 6 months, position, duration of employment - hubby's bank statement for 6 months (he had some unexplained credits less than 100k here and there, but since he was not my sponsor, we didn't explain it) - hubby's land documents - consent letter from hubby stating he'll be with the kids while I travel Evidence of home - tenancy agreement in hubby's name -rent receipt paid by hubby Itinerary. - I booked a cheap hostel (all female room) for £55.5 for 3 days - I booked a provisional flight ticket with Klm, cost £541. I wrote in my cover letter that I'll pay once my visa is granted. Total budget for trip was £760. Duration of stay: 3 nights My salary is N140k. My budget was almost 3 x my salary but I had x 4 of my budget in my salary account. I hope this helps someone esp doctors applying for visa for plab exam. bogolobango: 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Hi everyone @justwise @ekpotek @fcisca Pls how recent should the bank statement submitted be? I printed out my bank statement on the 1st of March and submitted my online application on the same day, however, the earliest appointment date for biometrics and submission, I could get was 9th march. Should I print out another bank statement or is an 8 day old one okay? |

Good evening everyone. Pls I've been trying to pay for visit visa (standard processing time). I want to apply at the VI centre as it's closest to me, but it's saying I will have to pay an additional 79 USD. Is that the new thing now? Anyone in this same boat? |

Good evening @justwise @ekpotek and everyone As proof of employment, must I submit my employment offer letter given at start of job ? Or Will letter of introduction from my employer detailing my position, income, duration of job and leave suffice? Together with payslips and bank statement Also, I traveled to the UK in 2011 on a student's visa, at the POE, I wrote my uncles address as the place I was staying. We were not asked where we'll stay on the tier 4 visa form, we just needed to show we have enough money for Maintenance. Do I need to put my uncle as part of relatives in the UK? though on the GOVUK site, the only options are for immediate family such as parents and siblings. I'm booking a hotel for the trip. Thank you very much. |

@justwise @ekpotek and any other person that can help. Pls I need some advice in filling the confusing part of savings in the accessuk online application. I have about £4000 saved over time from my salary income. It's in the same account where my salary is paid monthly. Do I declare it as savings? I know someone who was recently refused on account of this issue. The person had some unspent money in her salary current account. But put in the application that she had no savings. One of the reasons she was refused was that she didn't declare any savings.
