About 11k. The famous El Paso package.

nefertitiram:

Depends on how heavy the discount is. Not the one that your bill is 20k and the discount is 18k! Lolz

Thanks a lot for the response.

TWoods:

Not a problem.

Oh ok. Cos my itemised bill from the hospital not doctor shows there was a discount which I paid. I asked back then wen i gave birth and was then that its cos i was its cos i was paying cash. Del Sol wrote a letter of non-indebtedness for me stating the discounted bill was what the hospital offered to self pay patients paying cash and that medic aid was not used to pay any of my bills.

Will this be a problem?

TWoods:

No. Discounts solely because you are paying by cash is valid.

Hello Nefertitiram, my itemised bill shows there was a discount which I paid. So the VO will see i got a discount so Del Sol wrote a letter of non-indebtedness for me stating the discounted bill was what the hospital offered to self pay patients paying cash and that medic aid was not used to pay any of my bills.

Will this be a problem?

nefertitiram:

If you ask me, that zero balance statement does more harm than good, especially if you got a discount. So just take your rexiept, agreement and itemized bill and make sure they all tally.

Not yet. Hopefully before the end of this month.

Hi. Sorry I'm just responding. I see NL gurus have answered your questions.

Yes and I got my visa but the drilling(questions) was gangsta! Story for another day.

Have you gone for another interview?

Thank you

freshdad:
with my little knowledge, it is none of the VO's concern if you later travel after using the visa for the purpose of the application(the official meeting) so i believe you do not need to worry yourself over that- Question 1
the OGAs in the house can help on Q2

Thank you.

Babatwi:

I would advice you reapply and say you are going for a meeting and go with evidence to support this eg invitation letter for the meeting etc. The important thing here is that you use the visa for that meeting, any other purpose you decide to use it for after that is left to you.
For your own peace of mind you can try lagos

Hello house.

With what I have read today on this thread of denials at Abuja, I am scared to reapply.

So I have a meeting to attend with my boss first week in April in America (that is if I get the visa or I will have to chose someone else in my team to attend)

My options are to reapply for vacation or reapply based on the meeting(as suggested by my boss as they will be sponsoring my trip in April since it is official).

My questions are;
1. should I reapply and say purpose of trip is for meeting but that I will still go on vacation later in the year or just reapply for vacation.
2. should I apply in Lagos this time since my last denial was in Abuja.

Please experts in the house help me answer these questions.

At what point did she insult you that you have to insult her now? You can make your point without being rude or insulting.

Hmmnnn... We are adults so let's be careful how we write.

Fizzywah:
You highlighted my comments but ignored the word sometimes. Which means if they have any doubt whatsoever, for clarity sake you may be called for an interview. Nowhere did I say that going for an interview means you will be denied. It's like some of you just wait for the perfect opportunity to bash someone here without reading properly.

I have been a part of this thread from part 1 and this will be our second delivery. Your comments seem naive and hastily typed. Should have read and understood me well.

Na wa. It is well o. I just called the hospital and they pulled up my details on their system and confirmed I don't owe them. I asked for a covering letter saying I'm not indebted to them. The lady I spoke with said she will send me two documents(which is what they have sent previously to people who called with this issue) but can only send by mail to the address on my account as the system does not allow to send emails. I pray one is the letter I need.

Doctoresparati rep on nairaland, please check your email and respond to my request. I will appreciate your help in getting the cover letter from Del Sol. Thank you.

That's how she got denied that she lied during that first visa interview, this is supposed to be her third renewal.so just pray

Thank you very much!

Austine2020:
She was asked why she said that she will stay 2weeks and stayed 2months, also what was she doing in the US for 2months leaving her job & Family. And if she gave birth in the US. She answered that she didnt give birth in the US and she was enjoying her Holiday travelling from one city to another since they stamped her in for 6months,also that she has used the visa for vacation again & stayed 3weeks. But she was denied. And i was so angry, but she reapplied and another VO gave her the VISA back and told her that its not offence to stay for 2months in the US since she was stamped in for 6months,but they wanted to know what she was doing in the US for that Long.

In your own case, if you had told the VO that u notified the Embassy via Email of your intention to use the visa for Childbirth, with the print out of the Email evidence to show for it,that could have made a very big difference. because thats where the VO anger comes from & thats why u were called for the interview in the first place to know why u were given a visa for vacation but u never used it for vacation rather u used it for childbirth. Just reapply, another VO will give u back your visa and might not see anything wrong in your case. The VO's are different in everything,.so reapply u will be fine.its normal.

I have contacted doctoresparati since i went thru dem. waiting for their reponse.

As per ur comment on itemized bill, i had that but cos of the doctoresparati mindset VOs some time back, didnt want their name to show up at all at my interview.

nefertitiram:

@mamap003,

You will need to contact the hospital and explain the situation to them. You need a letter that says you did not take public aid and you paid all your bills as agreed in your inital contract. An itemized bill is what you get from the hospital/doctor's office from inception that you will pay so so so amount for so so so procedure, and you paid accordingly.

Good luck bae

For some strange reason, I have the same feeling. I will. Thanks alot.

I believe the loop hole is you not mentioning change of intent. Reapply and this time try to drop it in at the interview.

1. I didn't apply for conference. I applied for VACATION. I had already gotten an appointment date before I knew I was pregnant and I didnt know about about nairaland until long after I got my visa(wen I eventually decided to use it for birth/researching for hospital). I truly wanted to go on vacation but ticket then was very expensive so I just rested and stayed back to work.
2. Noted
3. Thanks

firsttymum:

1. Change of intent
It didn't work for u. Inshort u said conference... Conference means ur office has approved u r good to go the only thing holding u is a visa. What if u were given a visa with annotation?

2. BIL
U shldnt have mentioned him. U wanna have ur baby with so much money u shld b able to research urself or at least act like you researched urself.

3. What Nefertitiram said

Reapply you'll get by God's grace

Thank you Nerf.

Yes my zero balance statement that shows discounts/adjustments was included in my receipts.

I don't know how to get the letter of non indebtedness from the hospital I used cos I didn't contact the hospital directly and I hear doctoresparati doesnt use that hospital anymore. I will contact them anyway. Thanks alot.

nefertitiram:
MamaP003

I've mentioned this a while ago, and i think there was a debate about it and a final concensus. ladyg do you remember?

Besides the fact that you didn't use your visa for the intention, this is what causes your issue

Was your zero balance statement included in your receipts? It shows discounts/adjustments. Which nulled your bill to zero. Now the bone of contention every time is who paid for the discrepancy between the main bill and the discounted bill? Immediate assumption is tax payers. I think it comes from about 20k+ to 5k+

When you reapply, get a letter of non indebtedness from your hospital as against a zero balance statement.

Please have you gone for your interview and what was the outcome?

isysleek:
Good afternoon all,

Please those who renewed visa thru Dropbox and called for interview, what documents did you take along for the interview?

I have been informed by the embassy that I have to come for interview. I know I am to take all receipts for my daughter's birth. Please what else do I need to take along?

Thanks.
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by MamaP003: 11:36pm On Dec 08, 2016
Please what questions was she asked and was she given the visa?

Austine2020:
It simply means that they haven't decided on your application yet, But u have to check your applications regularly to know the outcome or to know if interview is required or not.then if no interview is required, that means your Visa will be issued. I think they will give u the visa, because if they want to call u for interview, they would have sent u an Email straight, thats how they called my wife for interview when she did Dropbox.

Good evening all. Just joined nairaland but I have been following the thread as a guest.

I had my son last year in Elpaso. Got the visa for vacation but didn't use it until I went to give birth. Though I was asked if I pregnant at my interview and I said yes. Wrote change of intent email before I left.

I just applied for renewal via Dropbox and was called for an interview and was denied.

Transcript below.

VO: Good afternoon
Me: Good afternoon(with a smile)
VO: I see you gave birth in the US. Can I see your itemised bill.
Me: (passed all my receipts to her)
VO: How much did it cost in total
Me: About 6k plus but there are other bills like hearing tests etc that I did but not included in the package. All receipts are here.
VO: I see your bill shows more than that.
Me: There was a package for self pay cash paying patients so there was a discount and it's shown on the receipt.
VO: Why did you get your visa for vacation but go and give birth.
Me: I couldnt go cos of work.
VO: Why did you choose Elpaso.
Me: My cousin in the US recommended it and it met my budget.
VO: Did you have any complications
Me: No.
VO: According to the US immigration law, your application is not qualified for a visa. (hands me the yellow paper). This paper explains it.

Please house, has any one had this experience?

Gurus in the house, where did I go wrong and what do I do next. I've been to Dubai twice and UK three times.
I forgot to mention to the VO that I informed the embassy about my change of plans. Don't know if this could have made a difference.

Plus what does itemised bill mean? Should I have had all my expenses on an excel sheet or what?

Please help.
