Godheard: No I used JFK with two toddlers who are both citizens. The only question asked was how long are we staying for and I said 3 months. Nothing else. |

Godheard: Hi, I used Holy Cross Silverspring and Dr Moore in 2019 because it was 5mins away from home. It turned out to be the best decision because I was 9cm dilated when we got to the hospital. Anne Arundel is very far from Silverspring unless you are open to it. I’d suggest you get there and go and inquire from the hospitals. Someone posted the hospital costs for Maryland some years ago. You can use the search button to find it but I quite remember it wasn’t cheap! Most hospitals in Maryland aren't cheap. Currently, I’m in Atlanta using Northside and North Atlanta Obgyn. I didn’t use Holy Cross again because of accommodation but I really liked my experience with them and Dr Moore if that helps. 1 Like |

judithidoghogm: I submitted in August and no, I wasn’t given any funding even though the director told me I had excellent credentials. Their reason being they have budgetary constraints. Don’t set your hopes too high lest it will be dampened. I read somewhere on gradcace that they have very limited GA offers to give out. I hope you applied elsewhere? I was not too bothered anyway because I received a GA offer including health insurance from a more prestigious university. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ifeanyimoses: Okay so most schools will focus more on your Quant score than the verbal. Your combined aggregate is not bad either. Here are some schools that comes to mind. You’ll have to check if they offer your course though and email the grad coordinator with your profile and ask if the dept has funding (grad assistantships) for incoming students: University of Toledo Cleveland State University of Akron Youngstown state ( I know someone who did actuarial science there) Bowling Green state Middle Tennessee state East Tennessee state Mississippi state Georgia state Austin Peay My list is not exhaustive though. You can google the program name for list of universities that offer it. Trust me, it is a tedious but rewarding experience ; and the hardwork does pay off! All the best! |

*Long post alert* I have been a silent reader for the past year and I would like to share my POE experience: Arrived at Dulles POE We were the first flight to land in the morning so they had time on their hands for us. I was the second in line to see the CBP officer. Officer: Good morning Me:Good morning with a smile then presented my passport. Officerwithout opening it) questions started flying in my face, is this your first time in the US, what are you here for. (Mind you I'm a frequent flyer to the US). Me: Calmly answers all the questions Officer: (finally opens passport) oh i see you have been here a couple of times, what will you be doing here for 11weeks. Me: I'm having my baby Officer: (surprised) you are having a baby, how much will it cost you and how much do you have? Me: it will cost $XXXX and I have $XXXX in cash and on my card. Officer: okay, puts my passport in a case and sends me to secondary inspection. * At this point I start praying for favor* I sat waiting for 15 minutes before my name was called. 2nd Officer: repeat same questions and asks to see cash so I removed cash and counted it before him. Then he took my pasport to the inner room and comes out asking one officer how much it cost to have a baby and he said "oh my wife delivered last month and I paid $40,000. I said in my mind fire burn you na God pass you. I sat there for close to 45 minutes before he called me again and he said it is not a crime or illegal for me to have my baby in the US but I should make sure not to use gov't funds and present my receipts the next time I arrive at any point of entry in the us and finally stamped me in. No documents checked even though I had doctors correspondence and I'm glad I declared my intents without being asked because my belly wasn't showing too. I didn't send the change of intent letter and wasnt asked why I didn't inform the embassy. Mind you I had used the visa last year for visiting. Don't be scared of immigration if you have nothing to hide. During my wait in secondary inspection, I didn't touch my phone, I just relaxed in the chair outside and they watch everything to see if you will panic. I thank God it ended in praise because the righteous is delivered by the innocence of his hands. I almost missed my connecting flight to Chicago and i was the last person to board. Chicago is very cold, had my first appointment and prepaid my bills and waiting for the baby to arrive. Thank you for this forum and all those who stretched out to help me with my questions. We are all not agents and some people genuinely need help so let's continue to offer it when we can. I'll be bavk to share hospital details and documents when I'm done! 18 Likes |

I intend to use Mount Sinai hospital Chicago, I have been calling the hospital severally but nobody seems to know the price of self pay delivery. I called Access too, they said each doctors appointment is $150 but they don't know how much the doctor will charge for vag delivery or c-section or the hospital charges. I need a reliable contact who can give me the accurate price quotes. God bless you all! |
