She is greatly missed because a lot of us learned so much from her. I still go to her thread for tips from time to time. |

Val great job, I still haven't bought my material. My machine does not get along with lace, keeps breaking needles so I don't know if I will work on this project. 2 Likes 3 Shares |

tenajtek: Usually I place my darts 7 to 8 inches apart if for a skirt. If it's a blouse, I try to place it under the bust so it would be about 7-9 inches depending on the measurements. For me it's usually 7 inches. So on the fold it would be 3.5 to 4.5 inches. Always try to place your darts under the bust because it enhances it and also shapes the waist. Hope this helps 2 Likes |

winie: 3 yards should be enough for the skirt, what's your measurement. You can find another plain fabric to make the top. |

Efosa I get what you mean about using this online class to relax, I do it too. For people who are asking questions about measurement, remember it's all about YOUR measurements. Use YOUR measurements to make YOUR calculations. Efosa is using hers so you should not use hers. Before you touch your fabric, get all your measurements down. It will be easier to follow the instructions. She is very detailed in her instructions so it's easy to go along. Also, if you have questions regarding a previous project you have three options: (a) Go back to the project and READ the entire project (b) Wait till the current project is done (when Efosa posts her finished project), there is usually a lag time while members finish up and post their results (c) Send Efosa a private message I'm not trying to be rude or anything but there were questions on things we already covered and the information is there if you go back a few pages. I know we are all eager and excited about this class but let's tone it down a bit. And also be more clear about your questions and more members will be able to help. After all that: (1) My fabric (2) Back (3) Front My width is not 24 inches cos my client is small and is an older woman and I felt 24inches would be too much for her. 1 Like

icebebe: Remember the circumference depends on the amount of material you have. Val has 4 yards which is 144 inches, you may have less than that so you have to measure accordingly. Typically the more material you have, the fuller your skirt. 1 Like |

Please ooo am still here, it's just that I have a lot of work on hand. I made a gathered skirt but I am yet to upload it. Hopefully, I will be done with this project by next week then I can make the dress. Efosa, those celebrity designers do not have two heads like you said and I thank God for you that you are following your dreams. My friends are the ones encouraging me to keep going, so am taking the plunge and I pray that this takes off. Keep up the good work. That being said, the peplumtop is a good idea and I already have a top that I have cut it's just to put it together so am ahead of the class 1 Like |

toyour: Welldon ma,I don't have any issue with d back just the front, after making mine I noticed d front is too bulky that's why I haven't add my sleve to it.pls madam what can I do You have to cut the bottom part to look the same as the back in order to give the shape you want. If you look at the pictures Efosa posted, you will see that the waist and bottom part are smaller than the top. Hope that helps. |
