24 February 2016: PTE (L R W S : 90 85 90 66)

22 April 2016: IELTS speaking bumped to 8. Plus I got my refund.

31 May 2016: CDR submission to EA

17 June 2016: Positive outcome (Engr. Tech)

18 June 2016: EOI submitted

06 July 2016: Invitation to apply

09 August 2016: Visa application lodged

12 September 2016: CO contact for wife's functional English (she wasn't satisfied with letter from her school)

25 September 2016: Uploaded wife's PTE scores. L R W S 82 74 66 81

13 October 2016: Grants received in mailbox, for me, my wife and daughter. IED 9th Aug 2017. Processing team - Brisbane.

I didn't use work experience points. Just d minimum 60 points.

After worrying and fuzzing over nothing, I finally have it. At work right now, but it is a sweet feeling. Still thanking God for it all. I read contents on this forum and expatforum, and it has rili helped. Grateful to everyone for their contributions. I wish us all success in our endeavors. May our dreams come true.

Congratulations on your grant.
Hello house,
This here is just another grant story!
Woke up this morning to the 'mysteriously exciting' sound of my phone alarm; after turning it off, I checked my emails and therein, lined one after another smiley smiley smiley, were 3 emails containing 189 visa grants for spouse, baby and I! Good start to the day for sure!
My timeline goes thus:
11/07/2015 - IELTS L/R/W/S: 9/9/7/7.5 10 points
22/02/2016 - PTE-A L/R/W/S: 90/87/90/89 20 points
07/03/2016 - EA Assessment submitted (Fastrack)
16/03/2016 - Positive assessment received
16/03/2016 - EOI lodged with 65 points
23/03/2016 - EOI Invite received
05/03/2016 - Medicals and PCC
17/04/2016 - Visa lodged
27/04/2016- CO Contact for transcripts and baby polio certificate
17/05/2016- Transcripts uploaded
19/05/2016- Grant
Thanks sis but I don't mean paying for ielts, As in how I can pay for the EA assessment using normal rate charge coz if I use my Mastercard, the bank will charge using parallel market.
I have downloaded the booklet... Thanks[/quote

With the new restructions on naira cards, I doubt if the payment would go through. I think you should go with @Lawland suggestion cause we didn't use a Nigerian card to pay.

ENGRJCJ:

Pls dear, U mean EA requires only ielts general for assessment or can I use academic.. On payment, can I make use of form A for that.. I be olodi.. Thanks

EA accepts both general training and academics for IELTS. They also accept TOEFL iBT.

To pay for IELTS, u pay using a bank draft addressed to British council. Take the draft to their office to complete your registration.

If you choose to pay online, have in mind that the amount you will pay would be higher than 52k because of exchange rates.

You can download the MSA booklet from EA website to guide you.

Thanks. I would love to do it myself. What are the procedures ?.....thanks.

I copied this from @manmeta's post. These are the steps you need to follow.

1. Know if your discipline is listed on the SOL.

For this, you can just type on google SOL/CSOL list for Australia or visit https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/Skills-assessment-and-assessing-authorities/skilled-occupations-lists/SOL

2. Know if you can meet the points required. I think it's 60 points now. This information is also on the border website.

3. Know the assessing body responsible for assessing your qualifications in Australia.

4. Do IELTS. You'll need for your qualifications to be assessed and for visa application too. Find out which one your assessing body in Australia will require (Academic or GT). Mine was Engineers Australia and they required GT. GT is easier and it's also fine for visa application.

5. Gather all necessary docs and get them ready. Apply for Assessment and await your outcome.

6. Do EoI and await response.

7. If given go ahead to apply. If you're prompted to apply, it's almost a done deal.

8. You'd thereafter be told to do medicals and security checks.

9. Start organising your departure. Say farewell to friends and families and make sure your enemies remain unaware.

10. Do a financial plan for your departure and stay here.

11. Make inquiries about where you'd choose to settle, flights,

Thanks. I'm just passionate about it. I really want to see alot of people given opportunities. Did your hubby do fast-track? If not, let him pay extra dollars for that instead of waiting for almost 16wks. He can get his assessment outcome within 1 wk.

Yes, he paid for fast track.

Wow, mothers where u buying ur swaddlers? I stopped using it wen my baby moved to size3, couldn't get it.

If you are in Abuja, you can get it in one baby store (can't remember the name exactly) in shoprite Apo. The store is very close to PEP in there but its quite expensive as compared to the price i bought mine in the US. My DS has been using it since birth and now he is on size 2. He uses abt 4-5 diapers a day n believe me, I don't need to worry abt changing diapers overnite cos it absorbs perfectly.
I once tried the pampers baby dry in Nigeria n it was far less inferior quality compared to swaddlers.

Please My brother Nigerian passport was issued at Nigerian Embassy in Abu Dahbi, UAE,
he is filling US Visa form, he just called me now, that he was asked for the Authority/Country that issued his passport in DS-160.
please what should he fill there.
is it Nigeria for Authority or UAE?
I know the city will be Abu Dhabi,
Please assist oooo, is very urgent, I had just told him to hold on a little.
Thanks all.

There is a place in the biodata page of his passport with Authority/Autorite. Whatever that is writen under it should be what he fills in his form.
