Philippians 3:18.
For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.

19. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things.

In verse 19, the apostle proceeds to give us a vivid description of these “enemies of the cross”. He says first, that their end is destruction (3:19). Whatever they thought about religion, they were going to end up in hell. By saying “their destiny is destruction” Paul did not mean that they would just cease to exist. Jesus talked about hell as a place of everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46) and Paul tells the Thessalonians that those who do not know God “will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut our from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power” (2 Thessalonians 1:9).

A second thing, Paul tells us about these “enemies of the cross of Christ”, is that “their god is the stomach” (3:19). That is what they worship. They have no time for the real God. They are only interested in physical gratification. They worship what gives them satisfaction.

Thirdly, Paul tells us that “their glory is in their shame” (3:19). These people were proud of the way in which they behaved. They thought it was a clever thing to speak about the cross in a derogatory way. Instead of regarding this as something to be proud of, they should have been thoroughly ashamed of themselves. They were like those mentioned in the letter to the Hebrews who were “crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace” (Hebrews 6:6).

Finally, we are told concerning these “enemies of the cross of Christ” that “their mind is on earthly things” (3:19). This was because they refused to have the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5). Instead, their minds were controlled by their sinful nature. This nature is described in in Colossians 3, where Paul tells his readers “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” They were told to “Put to death … whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry”. But these “enemies of the cross of Christ” refused to follow the Christian way of life.

They were not willing to “rid themselves of such things as these — anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from their lips” (Colossians 3:2,5,. Instead, they set their minds on earthly things

— not caring that the sinful nature cannot please God (Romans 8:. That is why Paul describes them as “enemies of the cross of Christ”.

This man talks like a hypocrite somes times, let Osibanjo tell us of nations in the world beleaguered in Injustice, inequity and nepotism that are progressive..

The Sit-at-home protest called by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to protest the alleged plans by the Federal Government to hold its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for a long time, by allegedly refusing to bring him to Court for continued trial, recorded total compliance in Onitsha the commercial city and Nnewi the Industrial city of Anambra State.

Even Sunday’s viral statement allegedly released by Mazi Kanu’s brother, that the Sit-at home has been suspended, which IPOB, through its Directorate of States, DOS, led by Mazi Chika Edoziem and its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, vehemently dismissed, could not discourage the people in the two cities from staying at home as directed by the pro-Biafra group.

Business activities, schools markets, and street shops in Onitsha and Nnewi were under lock and key, while the ever-busy roads were deserted by residents.

The ever-busy and gridlock-prone, Niger Bridge was a ghost of itself from both Onitsha and Asaba, the Delta State capital ends were completely deserted, just as the two pedestrian cross of both sides of the bridge were completely deserted.

The ever-busy Onitsha Enugu expressway from Niger Bridge Head area of Onitsha to Upper Iweke through Army barracked to Ziks roundabout to Nkpor and old Ogbunike toll gate were completely deserted by residents as no private, commercial buses and tricycle were sighted along the areas.



All the markets in Onitsha including the popular and highly populated Onitsha Main Market, Ochanja Central Market, Bridge Head Medicine Market, popularly known as Ogbo Ogwu, and the Bridge Head Market housing over 28 autonomous markets were all shut for business, popular Onitsha food markets Ose Okwodu, Coca Cola market located along Onitsha Enugu expressway and Relief Market Okpoko were all shut from business activities.

Other markets and Small Scale Industries, like Osakwe Industrial Cluster, where plastic and waterproof materials are produced and the Old Spare Motor Spare Parts Markets, popularly known as Ngbuka Obosi Market, were all shut down all in compliance to the Sit-at-home directed by IPOB.

All banks located within Onitsha, its environs and suburbs, and the ones located near all the popular and small markets in the commercial city, including those located in Awada, Obosi, Nkpor, New Market, and Old Market roads in Onitsha, were all closed for business contrary to their earlier plan to open for business following the Anambra State government’s directive that workers in the state must report to work.

Under international jurisdiction, Nigeria by either of these actions has violated the international human right that says that "no one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile."

When Nigeria appears in international court of law where Nnamdi Kanu has been trying to drag them to, they will be accused of abduction and would not only be told to release Nnamdi Kanu but to make reparations for the violation of his human rights.

This is not all, Nigeria would have to face criminal charges from Kenya if the Kanyan authorities manage to deny that they handed Nnamdi Kanu over to Nigeria. Nigeria will be accused of violating their territorial integrity.

I am writing to you as a concerned Nigerian and an Easterner to quickly dissolve the Eastern security network (ESN) following the order from the President to all security personnel to shoot at sight anyone caught with an AK 47 rifle.



I understand Sir that your intention for forming the ESN is very noble following the recent invasion of the monstrous Killer Fulanis herdsmen who have taken over the Eastern forests and have been killing, kidnapping, maiming, and raping our people. But you need to call back your boys to lay down their weapons for now. I know your boys will surely listen to your voice or reason.

You will agree with me that the security atmosphere in the country is very tense and politized as well. The fight against the killer Fulanis herdsmen isn’t holistic but one-sided. The fight against the bandits is still nothing to write home about especially following the way bandits are being paid to release their abductees across states like Kaduna, Niger, and Zamfara states.

You will also agree with me that the order to shoot anyone caught with an AK 47 inside the bushes is mainly targeted at wiping off the ESN. So you need to apply caution and wisdom in this situation. Kindly dissolve the ESN and lay low for now to avoid casualties which will likely be innocent civilians.

We all saw the military invasion in Orlu in Imo state and how it all went down. Let’s not allow them to kill us this time with the order to shoot at sight anyone caught with an AK 47 rifle.

You need to understand that the ESN isn’t all that equipped to fight the well-sophisticated Nigeria Army. There comes a time in one’s life that he or she has to succumb not out of fear or cowardice but in a way to go back to the drawing board and restrategize to come back stronger and better.
