What was the time lag between you addressing the POF/Pension issue and the PPR mail?

ednut1:
PPR story- Battle with IELTS(ignore typos lipsrsealed)

ECA: WES BSC and ICAN AAT
Score: 465
ITA: 12th June 2018
AOR: 25th June 2019
MEP/BIL: 25 July 2019
Biometrics: 26th July 2019
GU: 21st February 2020
PPR: 22nd February 2020
COPR: 10th march 2020
VO: Ottawa
Single Applicant.

POST AOR
I was confident the PPR would come fast so I could leave Nigeria in 2019 but by December no PPR. I had ordered for GCMS notes in October (Got a 3 months delay notice). I ordered for a CBSA note in December 2019. I called CIC severally the agents told me my file was on review required but they refused to tell me what area. I guessed it was the pensions part (10% of my total POF). Some people advised I send in an updated POF whole some warned me not to. I later sent the updated POF(converted my naira to USD and added more money) and replaced the pensions with cash. GCMS notes came in late January, as at request date was still in central intake office and I had a review required on STAT questions (Visa refusal in 2005 to UK) I was granted the Visa after addressing the issue noted and was granted. so, I began to wonder why it was an issue. CBSA note came in early February and revealed review required on proof of funds. Pensions was not considered by the officer, so I was short of POF by 900 CAD. I sent them a mail informing them I had addressed the POF issue. I was already paranoid at this point and was fearing rejection.

PPR
I got a ghost update and called IRCC . the agent told me application approved. The golden mail came in the next day. COPR approved 10th of March. The journey was a long hard one for me and am glad it ended well. See you all in Canny.

I haven't received any ITA mail but I'm sure I have gotten ITA because my CRS was 478.

Is there any post-ITA group I can join?

Bills! Bills! Bills!

This Canadian dream sometimes feel like Canadian slavery!

I was watching a video on YouTube about Canadians with very 'marketable' degrees like Engineering and Accounting who have to work three jobs just to pay their bills...I was just wondering if this is the same Canada some folks want to quit Chevron jobs for.

I think many Nigerians need to watch videos of ordinary Canadians earning minimum wage trying to eke out a living in cities like Toronto and Vancouver. I'm sure many would not be as enthused as they are about this 'Canada Waka' if they understand that the struggle of living in Canada could be as tough as the process of getting into Canada.

salford:
My values are average using Alberta and Sask as examples. Cost will vary for provinces and within cities in a province too. e.g rental may be cheaper in Red Deer compared to Calgary. Car Insurance will be cheaper in Winnipeg compared to Toronto.

Minimum Rent: Condo ($1000 and up), House ($1300 and up), sharing rooms - if you are single ($500 and up)
I aded "and up" because cheap housing will come with issues such as pests.

Car finance: $300 (Assuming the car is $18,000 and financed for 5 to 6 years). For starters, better to buy a small car outright.

Car Insurance: $150 (could be more or a little less depending on several factors. e.g premium or 3rd party, your postal code, parked in a garage or street, distance driven, used for Uber, age of driver, winter tires etc

Phone. (around 5 to 7gb): $80

Home Internet (no cable tv): $70

Water (if house): $80

Gas - Home heating (if house): $80

Electricity: $80 (if you love cooking, and also frequently use your oven and electric heaters in winter, then it will be higher)

Petrol: $200 (assuming you drive 20 to 30 min per day and you don't drive an SUV. if you do not have a car, Bus pass: $110)

Tenant Insurance: $20 (some landlords and housing agemcies will ask for it).

Bank fees: $10 and up

Single people can save lots of money if they decide to share. Bills like internet and electricity can be shared too.

if you intend to buy a house not long after landing:

You will have to consider the following additional costs:

Home insurance: $100

Property tax: $350 (condo fees is extra, but property tax for condos are generally lower)

House maintenance: $500 (This has been averaged over certain number of years), You can spend 0 in one year but can also spend $7k the following year.

Miscellaneous (some important and some are not)

Food: $150 per family member

Clothes: $30 per month (This has been averaged as well)

Entertainment/refreshments and eating out: $150

Gym: $50

Sports participation for those with kids: ($50 to $150)

Daycare: $1000 per kid for full-time

Personal care and Healthcare: ?

Amazon (people that love shopping): ?

Car maintenance:?

Costs are monthly. I hope this helps someone or families preparing to land.

Others can add or subtract since this is just an opinion.

UNILAG and WES are showing me pepper!

I've been stuck on verification for close to three months now!

WES sent another verification request last week, UNILAG Records Department is still insisting that they have not received it.

Yes nah.
Isn't it in your list of required documents?

If you do not have your degree certificate, you can fax a copy of your statement of results for free using hellofax.

If you have not heard about hellofax before and you need some info on how to use it, just 'google'.

Beauty85:

Hello house please I need ur answers please, is it compulsory to send my transcript together wot my certificate for evaluation to Wes?

You are the only one noticing this

Turns out he was not the only one and he was right, but your bigotry wouldn't let you see beyond your nose. I'm sure a significant number of people noticed it but just decided it wasn't worth their time.

I am 100% sure this 'Maternal' guy isn't Yoruba and that he highlighted the supposed tribe for malicious reasons!
Whoever you are, you can say whatever you like in defence of your poorly construed post, but it will not eliminate your underlying bigotry.
God has helped you to reach a country like Canada, but you still haven't shed the vestige of tribalism ingrained in your mentality. Break your chains!

I had this discussion with a Yoruba guy who's been in Canada going on 10 years. /quote]
